Abstrak: Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model pembelajaran matematika yang memanfaatkan sistem sosial masyarakat. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri di Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, sedang sampel dipilih secara purposive random sampling sebanyak 12 (dua belas) kelas dari 6 kabupaten/kota. Data dianalisis melalui perpaduan deskriptif dan kualitatif. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa buku model pembelajaran dan perangkat pendukung pembelajaran, adalah rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, buku siswa, lembar kegiatan siswa, dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa (1) dalam proses pengujian awal (validasi) terlihat bahwa model pembelajaran dapat dinyatakan valid ditinjau dari keseluruhan komponen; (2) secara teoretis model pembelajaran dinyatakan layak diterapkan di kelas dan secara empiris; model pembelajaran ini dinyatakan memenuhi kriteria praktis dan efektif sehingga dapat digunakan di sekolah. Kata Kunci: model pembelajaran matematika, sistem sosial masyarakat DEVELOPING MATHEMATICS LEARNING MODELS UTILIZING THE COMMUNITY SOCIAL SYSTEM Abstract: This developmental research aimed at producing a model of mathematics instruction utilizing the community social system. The research population was Grade VII students of State Junior Secondary Schools in South Sulawesi Province from which 12 classes in 6 disctricts were drawn as the research sample using the purposive random sampling technique. The data were analyzed using the descriptive qualitative analysis. The yielded products included the book of the instructional model and the supporting package for the instruction, namely, lesson plans, student books, student worksheets, and achievement tests. The research findings were: (1) the validation processes covering all aspect/components revealed that the model was valid; (2) theoretically, the instructional model was considered feasible to be applied in the classroom setting; while empirically, the model satisfied the criteria of being practical and effective, and it, therefore, could be implemented at schools. The affective aspects must be owned by students in a lesson, where the affective aspects will have a relationship with the cognitive aspects of a student, therefore this study aimed to determine whether there is a relationship between students 'mathematical dispositions and students' mathematics learning outcomes. Using a mixed method and a sequential explanatory plan, the research was undertaken by first collecting quantitative data and then continuing to collect qualitative data. Where, the sample count in this study was 413 students from junior secondary schools 18 in Jambi City, Indonesia who used a total sampling technique. Data were then analyzed with the help of SPSS 21 application to find descriptive statistics in the form of mean, min, max, and category as well as inferential statistics using Pearson Product Moment. The results obtained in this study dominate both the mathematical disposition of pupils and the learning outcomes of pupils in mathematics. This was reinforced by the existence of a relationship between mathematical disposition and student learning outcomes in mathematics which is indicated by the obtained sig 0.05. This means that the mathematical disposition of students which includes the affective aspect of students has a relationship with the cognitive aspect, by having a good affective aspect, the cognitive aspects of the student are also good.

The crux of this study is to examine the role of counselling services in fostering adjustment of school-aged children-in-transition in junior secondary schools in Ogun state, Nigeria. Using simple random and purposive sampling technique, three hundred samples (males= 133 and females=167) of school-aged children with mean age 10.96 participated in the study. Respondents filled two standardized instruments which are School Counselling Services Scale (SCSS) and Student Adjustment Scale (SAS). Data were analysed using Pearson product moment correlation and t-test at 0.05 level of significance. Result revealed that counselling services was perceived to be an effective tool in fostering adjustment of school-aged children–in-transition in junior secondary schools. Consequent upon this, government, policy makers as well as school counsellors should ensure the efficient and effective delivery of counselling services in secondary schools for new students transitioning from primary schools to junior secondary schools.

Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Palu. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Palu yang terdiri dari 5 kelas. Sampel penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling, jumlah siswa yang menjadi sampel sebanyak 44 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan dua instrumen yaitu, kuisioner kecerdasan emosional dan dokumentasi prestasi belajar dari nilai rapor. Hasil analisis data dengan menggunakan uji korelasi product moment diperoleh nilai korelasi r = 0,417. Nilai rtabel = 0,297 untuk N = 44 dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Nilai rhitung (0,417) > rtabel (0,297) maka diputuskan menerima hipotesis alternatif (H1) dan menolak hipotesis awal (H0). Artinya terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Palu. Kata kunci: Kecerdasan Emosional dan Prestasi Belajar Matematika The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence with mathematics learning achievement of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Palu. The population of this study is all students of VIII grade at SMP Negeri 8 Palu consisting of 5 classes. The sample was obtained by using random sampling technique. The total number of the sample was 44 students. The data collection used two instruments, namely, emotional intelligence questionnaire and documentation of learning achievement from the report card. The results of data analysis using product moment correlation test obtained correlation value r = 0.417. Value of rtable = 0,297 for N = 44 with significance level 5%. The value of rcount (0.417)> rtable (0.297) then decided to accept the alternative hypothesis (H1) and reject the initial hypothesis (H0). This means there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and mathematics learning achievement of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Palu. The low learning outcomes of mathematics are not appropriate thought of learning models in the classroom. Therefore, the NHT and TPS learning models can be applied to improve the learning of outcomes of the student. This study aims to determine the differences in learning outcomes using the NHT learning model with the TPS learning model. The sampling technique is used as a random sampling cluster with 2 groups of experiments for the first experimental group  (classroom view of TPS model) and the second experimental group (classes of NHT modeling). The instrument of this research uses the test of mathematics learning result. The hypothesis test is used  T-Test. The conclusion of research that are differences in the outcomes of the two learning models (NHT and TPS) on learning outcomes, based on the marginal mean of the TPS learning model is better learning outcomes than the NHT learning model.

This study aims to (1) analyze Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share on mathematics learning achievement, (2) analyze the level of students 'reasoning towards mathematics learning achievement, and (3) determine the interaction of Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share and the level of students' reasoning on mathematics learning achievement. This type of research uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. All grade VIII students of State Junior High School 1 Sambi were the population of this study. The sample in this study consisted of two classes, 31 experimental  and 32 control students, with a sampling technique using cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques using documentation, tests, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the ANOVA technique. Two ways with different cells. The results of the study with a significance level of 5% are (1) there is a good effect using Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share on students 'mathematics learning achievement, (2) there is a good effect of reasoning on students' mathematics learning achievement, and (3) there is no interaction between Discovery Learning. Think Pair Share setting and students' reasoning. Therefore, it is concluded that mathematics learning achievement can be influenced by Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share and reasoning. Keywords: Discovery learning setting think pair share; mathematics learning outcomes; reasoning. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, (2) menganalisis tingkat penalaran siswa terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, dan (3) mengetahui interaksi Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan tingkat penalaran siswa terhadap prestasi belajar matematika. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment. Seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sambi menjadi populasi penelitian ini. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas dengan 31 siswa eksperimen dan 32 siswa kontrol, dan pengambilan teknik sampling menggunakan cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi, tes dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik ANAVA dua jalan dengan sel tak sama. Hasil penelitian dengan tingkat signifikansi 5% adalah (1) ada pengaruh baik menggunakan Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, (2) ada pengaruh baik penalaran terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, dan (3) tidak ada interaksi antara Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan penalaran siswa. Oleh karena itu, disimpulkan bahwa prestasi belajar matematika dapat dipengaruhi oleh Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan penalaran. Kata Kunci: Discovery learning setting think pair share; penalaran; prestasi belajar matematika.

The aim of this study is to identify the effect of service quality which covers services system and procedure, personnel skill and ability, and service facilities and infrastructure on the satisfaction of motor vehicle taxpayers. This research adopts the associative research design as research guidelines. Probability sampling with simple random sampling technique were used in distributing 100 copies of questionnaire provided to taxpayers who use the service of Mataram Drive Thru. 100 copies of distributed questionnaire were entirely completed and returned to the researcher. Pearson correlation product moment   were given to 100 respondents / taxpayer motorists who use services Mataram Drive Thru, 100 copies of questionnaires distributed, fully completed and returned to the researcher. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to analyze the data obtained from the respondents. The research findings indicate that  systems and procedures of services, personil skills and ability, and service facilities and infrastructure have significant effect on the level of customers satisfaction 0,05 (2-sided). Therefore, it can be concluded that those three variables significantly affect the customers satisfaction. Further, service facilities and infrastructure was on the top rank, personil skill and abilitywas on the second, and systems and procedures was on the third. Finally, it is expected that the result of this study will help stakeholders of Mataram UPTD PPDRD office (the office of area tax service and levies) understand and identify the rank of variables influencing motor vehicle taxpayers satisfaction. Keywords: Service Qualites, Service Systems and Procedures, Personnel Skill and Abilities, Service Facilities and Infrastructure, Customers Satisfaction.

This article explores the skills and difficulties in critical thinking of junior Indonesian high school students in mathematics learning. Fifty students of grade IX who were purposive randomly selected from state junior secondary schools in Yogyakarta City were involved as the research subjects. The data were obtained from the test of mathematical critical thinking on the material of geometry. The test consisted of four items that describe each aspect of critical thinking skills, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. The analysis was done by showing the steps of the students ‘answers. The result indicated that the average of the aspects of mathematical critical thinking of students were on the high criteria with students’ greatest difficulties being in the analysis standard. Meanwhile,the average student success in the interpretation standard was 82%, the standard of the analysis was 46.25%, the evaluation standard was 78.25%, and the inference standard was 77%. Furthermore, from the results of the sample students’ exploration answers, it is expected that future teaching should not only focus on fluency in calculation but also on training the students in how to explain the solution steps of the problem solving process as this is important part in critical thinking.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan perbedaan pengaruh dari penerapan TGT dan DL dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan Quasi Experiment. Populasi penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VI sekolah dasar dengan sampel yang ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik Purposive Random Sampling terdiri dari du kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan mengumpulkan data yaitu observasi keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran dan tes akhir pembelajaran berupa tes essay. Hasil pengujian secara deskriptif yaitu penerapan TGT berpengaruh positif dibandingkan dengan DL ditinjau berdasarkan hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa. Berdasarkan pengujian inferensial pada hipotesis penelitian dengan uji t ditemukan thitung > α berarti terdapat perbedaan pengaruh, dimana pengaruh penerapan model TGT lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan DL. Sehingga, secara umum diinterpretasikan bahwa TGT berpengaruh positif dibandingkan dengan DL terhadap hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa sekolah dasar.TEAMS GAMES TOURNAMENT (TGT) AND DISCOVERY LEARNING (DL) IN LEARNING MATHEMATICS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLAbstract: This study describes the different effects of the application of TGT and DL in mathematics learning in elementary schools. This research is a Quasi Experiment. The population of this research is the sixth grade students of elementary school. The sample is determined by using purposive random sampling technique consisting of two classes. The instruments used to collect data were the observation of student activeness in learning and the final test of learning in the form of an essay test. The results of the descriptive test, namely the application of TGT have a positive effect compared to DL in terms of learning outcomes and student activity. Based on inferential testing on the research hypothesis with the t test, it was found that tcount > α means that there is a difference in influence, where the effect of applying the TGT model is higher than that of DL. Thus, it is generally interpreted that TGT has a positive effect compared to DL on learning outcomes and the activeness of elementary school students.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of comic media on student learning outcomes of class VII MTs School Year 2012/2013. The type of research used is experimental research. The random sampling technique is performed to determine the experimental and control classes. Therefore, VII-A as the experimental class and VII-B is the control class. The experimental class uses comic media as a teaching material for students. Comic media means to design triangle material in comic form. The results showed that U-test (118.5) > U-table (112). We conclude that there is no effect of the use of comic media on students' mathematics learning outcomes.
