Abstract: The paper underscores the infrastructural facility and the student’s academic performance in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. Thirty questionnaires were administered through a systematic sampling technique in each of the six faculties making a total of 180 questionnaires. The paper has found out a positive relationship between the student’s academic performance, power supply and health facilities. However, the internet facilities and transportation facilities were not adequate, whereas water supply was adequate. A test of the impact of infrastructural facility on the student’s academic performance, using a Chi Square statistical technique revealed a significant value of 177.1 at 0.05 % level. The paper recommends that the existing facilities should be upgraded and significantly improved by the government; urgent attention should be given to the development of the internet facilities and transportation sector of the University. Also, private partnership should be encouraged in the infrastructural development of the University.

High academic performance in senior high education is a significant issue that concerns the government and the people of Ghana because of the huge funding the government provides to schools in the form of progressive free senior high policy. Data starting from 2011/2012 to 2016/2017 academic years were picked from the students’ continuous assessment register which contains students’ academic records for each academic term. Data were collated and analyzed quantitatively using the Mann Whitney U Test to compare students’ academic performance during the period of government partial funding (progressive free policy) from 2014/2015 to 2016/2017 academic years forming a group and no funding period, starting from 2011/2012 to 2013/2014 academic years which formed another group. For the purpose of this study, two groups of twenty (20) students were sampled making forty (40) students in total using the systematic sampling technique. The Mann Whitney U test was used to analyze academic performance of students who benefited from funding and those that do not benefit from funding. The findings indicate that government funding (progressive free policy) has a greater impact on students’ academic performance.

This study analyzes the impact of watching television sports channels on the promotion of sports activities among the students of the University of Sargodha. The aim of the study is to explore the impact of sports channels on students. Previous researches are used to set up the concepts of the present study. In this research, a survey technique is used to collect the data. The population of the study consists of male and female students of the University of Sargodha. In this research, the Stratified and Purposive sampling technique is used, through which specification characteristics of the respondent's demographics. The study explores the impact of sports channels in the view of Uses and Gratification Theory. The data for this study is collected through the use of a well-designed questionnaire. Chi-square test and other statistical tests like ANOVA and t-Test are applied to test the hypothesis. The finding shows that more the exposure to TV sports channels more the information level of students of the University of Sargodha.

It is impossible to ignore the fact that the internet is the basic need of today’s technological world. Different research shows that individuals across the globe are using information and communication technologies (ICTs) to get the most up-to-date information from the internet. Similarly, university students also spend a lot of time on the internet researching and collecting material relevant to their research topics. Although different research has been conducted on the usage of the internet in different countries, research about Pakistani students is still limited. The major goal of this research was to see how internet usage affects students' academic performance particularly when it comes to increasing their grades. The objective of this research was to determine the type of internet use and the impact of the internet on students' academic achievement. Arts faculty from the University of Punjab Pakistan was selected as the universe of the study and 5 departments of arts were selected by simple random sampling and a sample of 100 students was taken through systematic sampling. The study adopted a survey research design. A questionnaire was developed by the researchers as a tool for data collection. The data was analyzed statistically, which led to the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. Statistical results are also presented and discussed, and implications for future research are also provided. According to the findings, internet use has a positive impact on student's academic achievement.

The study investigated the impact of COVID-19 on private schools in Gwagwalada area council of FCT, Nigeria. Questionnaire was adopted for the study. The sample of the study comprised 80 private schools administrators. The researcher used purposive sampling technique to select the sample from the population for the study. To ensure the validity of the instrument, test retest was employed to validate the reliability of the instrument. Simple percentage and chi-square was used to analyze the data collected for the study. The result collected revealed that COVID-19 Pandemic has impact on private school finances; COVID-19 Pandemic influences retrenchment of staff in private school; COVID-19 government intervention funds did not get to private schools proprietors and majorities of proprietress of private schools in Gwagwalada area council have not been able to pay their staff for the past two months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on this findings, the researcher hereby recommends that the government should provide specially intervention funds for the private schools with low interest rate. Based on the results obtained from the study, it was recommended that government at the federal and states levels should make provision for the private schools to access special intervention loans with low interest rate so that the private schools owners should be able to pay salaries to their staff

This purpose of this study was to investigate the challenges facing planning of higher institutions in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria. A descriptive research method was adopted for the study. The total numbers of hundred (100) respondents were selected from various agencies and ministry of education using stratified and systematic sampling technique with the use questionnaires to collect information from respondents who participated in the study. The data collected were carefully analyzed using percentages supported by chi-square to represent the raw data in a meaningful manner. The questionnaire was validated by two lecturers from University of Abuja department of educational administration. Two research questions and one hypothesis were developed for the study. Test-retest reliability was employed for the study. Result collected and analyzed revealed that there is significant relationship between planning of higher institutions and challenges. This result also showed that political influence, political instability, inadequate data, inadequate fund to plan, pressure group, inadequate planning and poor capacity of planner are the challenges facing the planning of higher institutions. The paper recommends that the government should increase the budgetary allocation for educational planning in the country.

Aim: Students’ academic performance is an important criterion that is considered for career opportunity in academia and industry as such the onus is on students to perform well academically in order to stand a chance of holding their own in a competitive and saturated labour market. The fact however is that a number of factors within and outside the classroom combine to determine how well students perform academically. Thus, the aim of this study was to determine the impact of factors such as gender, study habits, faculty of study, extracurricular activities, boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, social media usage and type of secondary school attended on students’ academic performance in Bowen University. Study Design:  A survey research design was used which employed a questionnaire capable of gathering large amount of quantitative and qualitative data. Place and Duration of Study: Bowen University, Iwo, Nigeria between March 2017 and May 2017. Methodology: A self-designed survey questionnaire was administered to a sample of 380 students (144 males, 236 females) drawn from a population of 3,819 students using multi-stage sampling technique. Data collected during the survey were processed and analyzed using various statistical techniques including frequencies, percentages, independent samples t-test, analysis of variance test and Chi-Square test for independence.  Results: Survey results indicated that gender, involvement in extracurricular activities, involvement in boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, study habit and social media usage significantly impact upon student’s academic performance while the type of secondary attended and the faculty of study were found not to significantly affect academic performance of the students. Conclusion: The survey results demonstrated that some of the considered factors significantly affect academic performance of students while some do not. As such, it is important for students to develop good study habits that will enable them spend more time studying while also cutting down on the number of hours spent daily on social media. In the same vein, students should be more involved in extracurricular activities that promote fitness, total wellness and team work. In addition, relationships should be well managed to ensure that they do not negatively impact on students’ academic performance.

In the conditions of digitalization of economy, acceleration of information technologies, automation of industrial processes Internet serves as one of the most powerful and effective tool for successful business activity. The active introduction of communication, information and other services form the prerequisites for the society transition from traditional ways of development to innovations, which are based on the active use of information technologies. One of the areas undergoing digital transformation is the academic life. The use of the Internet for educational purposes is seen as the key to facilitating the learning process, the formation of general and special competences of graduates, their ability to self-discipline, responsibility, autonomy and leadership. The main aim of the research is to analyze the role of information technologies in the formation of leadership qualities of young people, to study the relationship between the students’ academic performance and their leadership qualities. The analysis of literary sources and approaches to solving the issue of leadership among the young generation shows that the problem of increasing the academic performance of students in Bangladesh public and private universities through the prism of developing their leadership qualities is of great relevance. The main hypothesis of the work is the connection between the level of academic performance of a student and his/her leadership qualities. The subject of study is students of higher education institutions in Bangladesh. Methodical tools of the study were methods of data analysis and synthesis, regression method, Pearson chi-square test, methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis. Analyses were done using data collected from 609 students of several departments of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), a private university located in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The statistical association between academic performance and several explanatory variables was checked. Variables like age, depression, part-time job, internet for movies and/or music, relationship status and hours spend (daily) on the internet for studying were found to impact the academic performance level significantly. The study empirically confirms and theoretically proves that having leadership qualities is one of the key determinants of a student’s success, his/her ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and skills. The existence of significant influence of leadership on the level of graduates’ employment and the success of their career are substantiated. The findings of this study would help students, teachers and corresponding authority of the institution to comprehend the factors impacting the academic performance of the students and take further actions accordingly. ABSTRAKStunting yaitu keadaan gagal tumbuh akibat dari kekurangan gizi kronis. Prevalensi stunting di Kabupaten Tasikmalaya menempati urutan keempat, dimana kecamatan Sukahening menempati urutan pertama tertinggi dengan jumlah 155 balita mengalami stunting. Faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kejadian stunting yaitu pengasuhan anak yang kurang baik dimana tidak diberikannya ASI secara Ekslusif. Pencegahan stunting yaitu pada 1000 hari kehidupan dimana salah satunya pemberian ASI secara Ekslusif.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pemberian ASI Ekslusif dengan kejadian stunting pada balita 1-5 tahun di Puskesmas Sukahening Kecamatan Sukahening Kabupaten Tasikmalaya.Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi total sampling sebanyak 95 responden menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.Hasil Penelitian diperoleh lebih dari setengah responden 51,6% tidak diberikan ASI secara Ekslusif, dan sebagian besar 65,3% balita mengalami stunting. Hasil perhitungan chi-square diperoleh ρ.value (0,000<0,05) maka H0 ditolak sehingga terdapat hubungan antara Pemberian ASI Ekslusif dengan kejadian stunting pada balita 1-5 tahun di Puskesmas Sukahening Kecamatan Sukahening Kabupaten Tasikmalaya.Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberi informasi yang bermanfaat dan perlu dilakukan pendidikan kesehatan ulang yang terjadwal terkait nutrisi yang terjangkau dan sehat sehingga dapat meningkatkan cakupan ASI Ekslusif dan dapat menurunkan angka stunting.Kata Kunci : ASI Ekslusif, StuntingDaftar Pustaka : 25 buku (2010-2018)9 jurnal (2013-2019)2 Website (2010-2017) ABSTRACTStunting is a condition of growth failure due to chronic malnutrition. The stunting prevalence in Tasikmalaya Regency was at the fourth place where Sukahening sub-district was at the highest with 155 stunting. Factor that can influence the occurrence of stunting is a poor parenting where exclusive breastfeeding is not given. The best prevention of stunting is on 1000 days of life where exclusive breastfeeding is given. The impact, if the baby is not given exclusive breastfeeding, they will lack of nutrition and also will have an impact on the growth or inappropriate height. This aims of the research is to determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting on toddler under 5 years of at Sukahening Public Health Center, Sukahening Sub district, Tasikmalaya Regency. The type of research used is descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The total samplings were 95 respondents which used purposive sampling technique. The results of the research were obtained more than half of the respondents 51.6% were given exclusive breastfeeding, and most 65.3% of children under five had stunting. The chi-square calculation results obtained that ρ.value (0,000 <0,05) then H0 is rejected so that there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting on toddlers under 5 years in Sukahening Public Health Center, Sukahening Sub district, Tasikmalaya Regency. Performed the health education related to affordable and healthy nutrition so that it can increase the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding and can reduce stunting rates. The National Bureau of Statistics recently announced that the entertainment and media (E&M) industry in Nigeria recorded growth of 1.86% to 12.81%; contributing N54bn to the country’s GDP. The industry’s revenue is projected to reach an estimated $8.5bn in 2018, from $4bn in 2013, with internet as one of the key drivers (PwC report, 2016, p.14). This comes at a time when Nigeria’s economy has shrunk by 2.24% since 2015 and receded by 0.18% from the previous quarter. Therefore, this study unpacks the possibilities and challenges of the impact of e-marketing tools on the growth of the Nigerian E&M industry. E-marketing tools provide “a unique combination of powerful capabilities for marketers” (Parsons et al., 2015). E-marketing suitability for the E&M industry lies in its lower capital demand, and a convenient and online means of disseminating marketing messages across a heterogeneous population at an unlimited geographical space. E-marketing is a reality in Nigeria as a study by Mathew, Ogedebe & Ogedebe (2013, p. 549) shows that “Many Nigerians who used (sic) the internet as one form of communication or another are bombarded daily with advertisements of products and services from industries in the country.” This reality has brought a shift from mechanical to electronic and from analogue to digital; ultimately impacting the marketing realms. The internet enables these electronic/digital platforms; which marketers (E&M industry) and customers (content consumers) rely on to effectively reach and receive communication content and feedback respectively.  However, this study examined the challenges that have possibly hindered the full realization of the e-marketing tools of the Nigerian E&M industry and noted among others; poor power supply and unreliable network infrastructure in the country. There is also an increased customer expectation, security, content copyright and privacy issues as well as the challenge of compliance demand in the industry as influenced by ever dynamic digital boundaries. There is a huge economic need for the Nigerian government to live up to its obligation and enhance power supply and boost network infrastructure. The Nigerian E&M industry needs to continually integrate different digital platforms to reach targets and attract more content consumers. Both the government and industry should increasingly learn and bring a global perspective that can help the nation adapt to the constantly changing digital environment.
