This study aimed to determine antioxidant activity of artocarpus camansi fruit extracts from Sigi, Central Sulawesi. This study was conducted by maceration extraction technique, and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) as the source of free radicals, and vitamin C as a positive control. UV-Vis spectrophotometer was used for measuring the absorbance of artocarpus camansi fruit extracts. artocarpus camansi fruit powder was extracted by maceration using ethanol. Various concentrations of artocarpus camansi fruit extracts used were 20, 40, 60, and 80 mg/L. The results showed that the IC50 value for artocarpus camansi (artocarpus communis) fruit extract was 88.715 mg/L, whereas the IC50 value for vitamin C was 37.153 mg/L. Artocarpus camansi (artocarpus communis) fruit extracts are powerful antioxidants category based on IC50 value. The optimum percentage antioxidant activity of artocarpus camansi fruit extracts to inhibit free radical amounted to by 50.65%

Phaleria macrocarpa contains secondary metabolite compounds such as alkaloids, terpenoids, saponins, polyphenols, tannins, sterols, and coumarins. Those metabolites are antioxidants and can be efficacious in the healing of various degenerative diseases such as cervical cancer and diabetes. This plant is widely grown in Tindaki Village, Parigi Mautong, Central Sulawesi. The aim of this study was to determine the antioxidant power of those phaleria macrocarpa fruit extract. This study was conducted by using maceration extraction technique with ethanol as solvent, and compound 2,2-difenil-1-picrilhidrazil (DPPH) as source of free radical, and vitamin C as the positive control. The UV-Vis spectrophotometer was used to measure the absorbance of the extract. Various concentrations of the extract used were 5 ppm, 15 ppm, 25 ppm, and 35 ppm. The results showed that the IC50 value of the fruit extract was 28.242 ppm, while the IC50 value of vitamin C was 19.302 ppm. These IC50 values show that vitamin C was a stronger antioxidant activity than the fruit extract, but the fruit extract was still as a very strong natural antioxidant category.

Antioxidants are compounds that can delay, reduce, slow down or inhibit oxidation reactions from free radical reactions. Antioxidants donate electrons to unstable free radicals so that these free radicals can be neutralized to not interfere with the body's metabolic processes. Red seaweed Galaxaura rugosa has potential as an antioxidant. The study aimed to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of red seaweed Galaxaura rugosa against DPPH free radicals based on the IC50 value. Phytochemical testing and determination of antioxidant activity were carried out using the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl), which was carried out quantitatively using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results of the phytochemical screening of red seaweed ethanol extract contained alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, steroids, and polyphenols and the IC50 value of red seaweed ethanol extract was 4.59 ppm, while the positive control for Vitamin C was 6.64 ppm. It was concluded that the ethanolic extract of red seaweed Galaxaura rugosa in the South Aceh District had high antioxidant potential, as evidenced by the small IC50 value of <50 µg/mL.Keywords: Antioxidants, Galauxara rugosa, phytochemicals, DPPH  ABSTRAKAktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol rumput laut merah Galaxaura rugosa Antioksidan merupakan senyawa yang mampu menunda, memperkecil, memperlambat atau menghambat reaksi oksidasi dari reaksi radikal bebas. Rumput laut merah Galaxaura rugosa berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol rumput laut merah Galaxaura rugosa terhadap radikal bebas DPPH berdasarkan nilai IC50. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian fitokimia dan penentuan aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-difenil-1-pikrilhidrazil) yang dilakukan secara kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil dari skrining fitokimia ekstrak etanol rumput laut merah mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, steroid dan polifenol serta nilai IC50 ekstrak etanol rumput laut merah sebesar 4,59 ppm sedangkan kontrol positif Vitamin C sebesar 6,64 ppm. Ekstrak etanol rumput laut merah Galaxaura rugosa di Kabupaten Aceh Selatan memiliki potensi antioksidan yang tinggi. dibuktikan dengan nilai IC50 yang yang kecil yaitu < 50 µg/mL.Kata kunci: Antioksidan, Galauxara rugosa, Fitokimia, DPPH

Buah andaliman, (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC),banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat sebagai bumbu makanan dan obat tradisional seperti obat sakit perut, tonikum, dan anti mikroba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi senyawa yang berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan dari ekstrak buah andaliman. Ekstraksi dilakukan secara maserasi kinetik menggunakan pelarut n-heksan, dan etil asetat. Ekstrak kental yang diperoleh kemudian diuji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode peredaman radikal bebas menggunakan DPPH. Sebagai kontrol positif digunakan vitamin C. Selanjutnya dilakukan pemurnian dengan kromatografi kolom sampai diperoleh isolat EA.X.6.1 yang mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode peredaman radikal bebas DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etil asetat buah andaliman mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 66,91 bpj, dan isolat EA.X.6.1 yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 135,58 bpj. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan spektrofotometri UV-Vis, spektrofotometri Fourier Transform Infra Red (FT- IR) dan Kromatografi Gas-Spektrometri Massa (KG-SM) diduga senyawa aktif antioksidan yang terdapat dalam ekstrak etil asetat buah andaliman adalah 2-metoksi-4-vinilfenol.   Andaliman fruit, (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC), is widely consumed by people as a food spice and traditional medicine to treat stomach pain, tonic, and as anti-microbial drugs. This study aimed to identify compounds that wereefficacious as antioxidants of andaliman fruit extract. The extraction was performed by kinetic maceration method using n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Then, the crude was tested for its antioxidant activity by free radical DPPH scavenging method. Vitamin C was used as  a positive control. Furthermore, the extract was purified by column chromatography to obtain isolate  EA.X.6.1 which has the highest antioxidant activity. The results of evaluation on antioxidant activity by free radical DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil)scavenging method showed that ethyl acetate andaliman fruit extract revelaed antioxidant activity with IC50value of 66,91 bpj and isolate EA.X.6.1 which showed the highest antioxidant activity with IC50value of 135,58 bpj. Based on analysis using UV-Vis spectrophotometer, spectrophotometer Fourier Transform Infra Red (FT- IR) and Gas Chromatography- Mass Spectrophotometry (GC-MS), it was considered that antioxidant chemical active compound in ethyl acetate andaliman fruit extract was 2-methoxy-4-vinylphenol

The study of red spinach antioxidants (Blitum rubrum) in two types of solvents i.e ethanol and water has been performed. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of red spinach extract from Tinombo Selatan district, Central Sulawesi. Red spinach was macerated in ethanol and water to obtain variations of extract concentrations of 20, 40, 60, and 80 mg/L. Free radicals used were DPPH reagents while vitamin C was used as a positive control. The measurement of absorbance of red spinach’s extract was conducted by spectrophotometric. The results showed that IC50 extract of red spinach in ethanol and water were 51.404 mg/L and 52.227 mg/L, while the value of IC50 vitamin C in ethanol and water solvent was 43.241 mg/L and 140.507 mg/L. Based on the IC50 red spinach’s extract in ethanol and water have strong antioxidant activity.

The red onion of Palu valley variety is a plant that is widely found in Palu area and regarded as a leading commodity in Central Sulawesi. The purpose of this study was to examine the secondary metabolite compounds contained in red onion (Allium ascolinicum L.) of Palu valley variety and its antioxidant activity. Antioxidant activity test in this study used DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-Pikrilhidrazil) as a source of free radical, and vitamin C as the comparison. The antioxidant activity of red onion extract was analyzed using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The red onion tuber powder was extracted by maceration using ethanol solvent. Qualitative test of onion powder showed positive results on alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannin compounds. The samples and vitamin C were tested for antioxidant activity in various extract concentrations of 10, 30, 50, 70, and 90 ppm. The results showed that red onion extract of Palu valley variety presented an IC50 value of 38.548 ppm, and vitamin C presented an IC50 value of 22.646 ppm. Based on these values, the red onion (Allium ascolinicum L.) extract is categorized as a very strong class of antioxidant which can be used as a source of natural antioxidant.

Study on the antioxidant activity test has been conducted using palado (agave angustifolia) leaves from Tondo, Central Sulawesi. Palado plant is one of the succulent plants that can grow to a large size, and it is possible to contain antioxidant compounds. This study was conducted by an experimental method using maceration extraction technique and 1,1-difenil-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) as the free radicals source, and vitamin C as the positive control, whereas UV-Vis spectrophotometer as for determining wavelength (λ) of palado leaves extracts. Sample used as much as 5 grams palado leaves, and methanol as the solvent. Variation concentrations of palado leaves extract were 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, and 140 ppm. The results showed that the IC50 value of palado leaves extract was 26.182 ppm. Palado leaves extract is classified as a very powerful antioxidant based on the IC50 value. The optimum percentage antioxidant activity of palado leaves extract in inhibiting free radicals was by 84.84%.

Malay apple (Syzygium malaccense L.) is a plant that can be used for treatment. Antioxidants have the activity to reduce free radical compounds which is one of the causes of the emergence of various diseases in humans. The purpose of this study to determine the comparison of methods of maceration and socletation extraction of antioxidant activity of malay apple leaf. Research stages include sampling, plant determination, making of simplisia, maceration extraction and socletation with 70% ethanol solvent and determine the antioxidant activity by UV-Vis spectrophotometry with DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) as free radical. The parameter is IC50 value that is the concentration of antioxidant compound which can cause 50% loss of DPPH free radical activity. Although both methods show very strong antioxidant activity, it can be concluded that the difference in extraction methods has an effect on the antioxidant activity produced. The results of antioxidant activity test showed that socletation methods gave an average IC50 value of 37.67 ppm, this value is higher than maceration methods with an average IC50 value of 47.80 ppm. Malay apple leaf has the potential as a natural antioxidant, although it has a lower IC50 value than vitamin C which is 9.72 ppm.

Abstract. Indonesia is a country with the third largest tropical forest in the world. The number of medicinal plants in Indonesia is estimated to be around 1,260 types of plants. Plants produce secondary metabolites that have potential as antioxidants. One of the plants that contains a lot of secondary metabolites is maja (Aegle marmelos (L.) Corr). The purpose of this study was to determine the content of secondary metabolites in maja fruit extracts and to determine the antioxidant activity contained in maja fruit extracts using the DPPH method. The research was conducted by extracting maja fruit samples using maceration method to obtain a thick extract. The extracts obtained were tested for secondary metabolites, TLC test, and antioxidant activity tests using the DPPH method using Uv-vis spectrophotometry. The results of this study indicate that maja fruit extract contains secondary metabolites of flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, saponins, and glycosides. TLC results obtained Rf 0.512. The result of antioxidant activity of maja fruit extract obtained by IC50 was 269.153 µg / mL. and IC50 vitamin C as a comparison obtained 28,907µg / mL. This shows that the antioxidant activity of maja fruit extract is smaller than the antioxidant activity of vitamin C. Abstrak. Indonesia adalah negara dengan hutan tropis paling besar ketiga di dunia, Jumlah tumbuhan berkhasiat obat di Indonesia diperkirakan sekitar 1.260 jenis tumbuhan. Tumbuhan menghasilkan metabolit sekunder yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Salah satu tanaman yang banyak mengandung metabolit sekunder adalah tanaman maja (Aegle marmelos (L.) Corr). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan metabolit sekunder pada ekstrak buah maja dan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan yang terdapat pada ekstrak buah maja dengan metode DPPH. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengekstraksi sampel buah maja dengan metode maserasi untuk memperoleh ekstrak kental. Ekstrak yang diperoleh dilakukan uji metabolit sekunder, uji KLT, dan uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH menggunakan spektrofotometri Uv-vis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak buah maja mengandung metabolit sekunder flavonoid, tanin, alkaloid, saponin, dan glikosida. Hasil KLT diperoleh Rf 0,512. Hasil aktivitas antioksidan ektrak buah maja yang diperoleh dengan IC50 adalah 269,153 µg/mL. dan IC50 vitamin c sebagai pembanding diperoleh 28,907µg/mL. hal ini menunjukan bahwa daya aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak buah maja lebih kecil dibanding dengan daya aktivitas antioksidan vitamin C. Free radicals are molecules that lose electrons in their outer orbitals so that the number of electrons becomes odd and unstable. Free radicals can damage various macromolecule cells including proteins, carbohydrates, fats. Antioxidants are compounds that can donate one or more electrons to free radicals. Avocado leaves contain high bioactive components that can be used as a source of natural antioxidants. Avocado leaves that have been dried, mashed and then shifted with methanol. The extracts were tested by phytochemical screening, including flavonpoid, phenolic, tannin and antioxidant activity using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhidrazyl) method. This method is based on the reduction of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) against free radicals which causes a change from purple to yellow 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) (DPPH). From the research, the IC50 values ​​in avocado leaves were 118.8056 µg / mL and 7,276 µg / mL on ascorbic acid as a positive control. From the IC50 value obtained, it is known that the methanol extract of avocado leaves has strong antioxidant activity to fight free radicals.

AbstractAndong leaf is one of the traditional medicinal plants that is proven to have various properties including as a (natural) medicinal ingredient. Andong plants contain several chemical compounds including saponins, tannins, flavonoids, polyphenols, steroids. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of red andong leaf extract (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Cheval) as a radical scavenging antioxidant for DPPH. In this study red andong leaves (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Cheval) were extracted using maceration method with 70% ethanol as solvent. The results showed that anthocyanins were cyanidin. Antioxidant activity was measured by reducing DPPH free radicals with UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 517 nm. The results showed that red andong red leaf extract had strong antioxidant potential with an IC50 value of 64.5197 g/mL against free radicals DPPH and vitamin C as a comparison showed a very strong antioxidant potential with an IC50 value of 2.12 g/mL.Keywords : Andong leaf, antioxidant, DPPH AbstrakDaun andong merupakan salah satu tanaman obat tradisional yang terbukti memiliki berbagai khasiat diantaranya sebagai bahan obat (alami). Tanaman andong mengandung beberapa senyawa kimia diantaranya yaitu saponin, tanin, flavonoid, polifenol, Steroida. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi  ekstrak daun andong merah (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Cheval) sebagai antioksidan penangkal  radikal DPPH. Pada penelitian ini daun andong merah (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Cheval) diekstraksi dengan menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 70%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  antosianin jenis  sianidin. Aktivitas antioksidan diukur melalui peredaman radikal bebas DPPH dengan spektrofotometri UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 517 nm. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak daun andong merah   memiliki potensi  antioksidan  kuat dengan nilai IC50 64.5197 µg/mL terhadap radikal bebas  DPPH dan vitamin C sebagai pembanding menunjukkan potensi antioksidan sangat kuat dengan nilai  IC50 2.12 µg/mL.Kata Kunci : Daun andong merah, antioksidan, DPPH
