Starting from the premise that teaching is an act of communication, which is currently being done online, the main concern of education specialists is to optimize the process of online communication so as academic learning to be effective, meaningful and profound. As there is an interdependent relationship between communication and learning, this study is an investigative approach that aims to provide some data on students' perceptions of online communication. Effective and persuasive didactic communication, especially in the online environment, raises a number of difficulties and questions. How can the online communication process be optimized so that learning could be made more efficient? How can a challenging climate in the digital environment be built, what methods are more effective for stimulating interest and activating students? How do students relate to online training, what are the difficulties they encounter, the advantages and disadvantages they perceive? These are only a few questions that we are trying to find answers to in this study. In order to conduct our investigation, we used a sample of 126 participants, and as a research method we used the questionnaire-based survey and the interview. Following the processing of the results obtained, we were able to formulate conclusions relevant to virtual communication. Among them we mention: training students in the online didactic activity is more difficult, their involvement and participation being strongly influenced by the stress caused by technology. As for building a disinhibiting, stimulating environment, students have high expectations from the teachers.

The emergence and spread of Internet communication has led to changes in social relationships, abuse of the Internet and maladaptive behavior. Among the authors who have studied the impact of these changes there is no consensus, and the results of their research are often contradictory. Some authors conclude that Internet communication strengthens networks of its users, while others believe that such communication leads to reduced participation in real social life. In a number of people, excessive use of the Internet adversely affects the mental health and social life and can lead to obsession at the expense of other aspects of life and creating addiction. The greatest risk of negative impacts of online communication is among children and young people. This paper is meant to indicate, the good sides as well as the negative consequences of excessive and non-functional Internet use

This article examines questions of the present interest in the sphere of modern education, the key topic of which is cross-cultural online communication of students in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and complete shift to the distant format of work. The article analyzes the features of virtual communication between representatives of different cultures and languages, as well as examples of possible misunderstandings of certain cultural realities. The issue of effective communication and socialization of students in the online environment is debatable and relevant to study, which is proved by numerous studies derived from real interactions with foreign students during the period of necessary self-isolation due to the threat of coronavirus. The investigation is based on a questionnaire suggested to students and Internet discourse materials presented on websites and forums. The theoretical basis is a deep analysis of the articles of scientists who decided to delve into the linguistic aspect dictated by the need to study the phenomenon of communication during the pandemic. The task of this research is to analyze cases and Internet communication based on the conducted survey and data comparison. The article will provide views on the mentioned above matter supported by investigations of respected scientists with various illustrations from modern realities of the pandemic world.

It is difficult to imagine the life of each person in a state of information vacuum, so it is naturalthat information becomes the main value of today. And the main tools in the process of its disseminationare mass media, in particular electronic media. The Internet is gradually becoming a universal, allencompassing communication environment for us, connecting many people, regardless of distances andnational borders. The online audience is steadily multiplying and therefore the impact of thiscommunication channel on the society is increasing. As the audience grows, there is a steady increase inthe amount of time people spend each day in the online communication process. Social networks arerapidly outpacing the "old" comprehensible media, benefiting from feedback from the audience. Theylisten to the wishes of readers / viewers, become an authoritative information channel. All this speaks tothe urgent need for effective regulatory regulation of the activity of social networks, such as electronicmedia, by the state. Social networks have ceased to be typical tools for the transmission of information; itis a fully segregated structure that requires "working" laws, with a clear conceptual apparatus. Theyhave long been the holders of rights and responsibilities, endowed with constitutional personality, aselectronic media. The article is devoted to research of real factors of activity of modern events as specialelectronic data of mass information. Investigated the validity of advanced measures to modern massmedia. The essence of the concept of "media", "social media", "multimedia" is analyzed. Thesubstantiated comprehension of the rigid measures, as not singled out by the element of constitutionaldevelopment, is outlined. The authors emphasize the importance of international events in the constructedinstitute of the "e-country" V. O. Zelensky. The article attempted to stimulate positive changes in thelegislature concerning the issues of electronic data of the mass media, necessary, as well as reliablechanges. At the same time, "social measurement as electronic media" is formed, which clearly defines itsproperties and features.

The Tonsillectomy in children or adults is an intervention commonly encountered in the ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) and Head and Neck surgeon practice. The current tendency is to perform this type of surgery in major ambulatory surgery centers. Two objectives are thus pursued: first of all, the increase of the patient quality of life through the reintegration into the family as quickly as possible and secondly, the expenses associated with continuous hospitalization are reduced. Any tertiary (multidisciplinary) sleep center must ensure the complete diagnosis and treatment (including surgery) of sleep respiratory disorders. Under these conditions the selection of patients and especially the implementation of the specific protocols in order to control the postoperative complications it becomes essential. The present paper describes our experience of tonsillectomy as treatment for selected patients with chronic rhonchopathy (snoring) and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnoea. It was presented the impact of antibiotics protocols in reducing the main morbid outcomes following tonsillectomy, in our day surgery center. The obtained results can also be a prerequisite for the integrative approach of the patients with sleep apnoea who were recommended surgical treatment. Considering the wide range of therapeutic modalities used in sleep apnoea, each with its specific advantages and disadvantages, more extensive and multicenter studies are needed. Technology in education is a global phenomenon affecting learners of all ages. The breadth and variety of available tools make it difficult to implement a standardized method for assessing the impact of technology on learning. The lack of a consensus on good and bad practices results in inconsistent application and mixed learning results.   This article takes a look at the adaptation of technology to education and examines the various tools used to enhance learning. We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using technology, as well as review methodologies for evaluating the impact.   The essay concludes by identifying several problems with the way technology is evaluated and offers suggestions for further research to address those problems.

The Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) recently released Statement No. 45, Accounting and Financial Reporting by Employers for Post-Employment Benefits Other Than Pensions and its companion Statement No. 43 for pooled stand-alone health care plans, which will profoundly affect American governmental finance. The goal of this article is to encourage governments to consider carefully a full range of options in funding and restructuring other post-employment benefits (OPEB). This article will review Statement No. 45's potential impact on governments and review existing disclosures in financial reports as well as bond offering statements. The article will discuss the statement's impact on budgets and governmental operations, including collective bargaining. Funding options under Statement No. 45 will be detailed, including the advantages and disadvantages of irrevocable trusts and OPEB bonds. The article will also discuss the impact of Medicare Part D subsidies received by governments, as well as the bond rating implications of policy decisions surrounding OPEB. As the largest government entities are just now implementing GASB Statement No. 45, estimates of the magnitude of unfunded OPEB liabilities are limited as are the strategies likely to be adopted to cover these obligations. This article offers a summary of the unfunded OPEB liabilities reported by states and major cities and suggests some measures for assessing the ability of these entities to address these costs.

Even though climate change is having an increasing impact on tea plants, systematic reviews on the impact of climate change on the tea system are scarce. This review was undertaken to assess and synthesize the knowledge around the impacts of current and future climate on yield, quality, and climate suitability for tea; the historical roots and the most influential papers on the aforementioned topics; and the key adaptation and mitigation strategies that are practiced in tea fields. Our findings show that a large number of studies have focused on the impact of climate change on tea quality, followed by tea yield, while a smaller number of studies have concentrated on climate suitability. Three pronounced reference peaks found in Reference Publication Year Spectroscopy (RYPS) represent the most significant papers associated with the yield, quality, and climate suitability for tea. Tea yield increases with elevated CO2 levels, but this increment could be substantially affected by an increasing temperature. Other climatic factors are uneven rainfall, extreme weather events, and climate-driven abiotic stressors. An altered climate presents both advantages and disadvantages for tea quality due to the uncertainty of the concentrations of biochemicals in tea leaves. Climate change creates losses, gains, and shifts of climate suitability for tea habitats. Further studies are required in order to fill the knowledge gaps identified through the present review, such as an investigation of the interaction between the tea plant and multiple environmental factors that mimic real-world conditions and then studies on its impact on the tea system, as well as the design of ensemble modeling approaches to predict climate suitability for tea. Finally, we outline multifaceted and evidence-based adaptive and mitigation strategies that can be implemented in tea fields to alleviate the undesirable impacts of climate change.

With resource crisis and environmental crisis increasingly grim, many countries turn the focus to pollution-free and renewable wind energy resources, which are mainly used for offshore wind power generation, seawater desalination and heating, etc., on the premise that the characteristics of resources are fully grasped. In this study, the evaluation of offshore wind energy in offshore waters in China, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of existing studies were overviewed from four aspects: the spatial-temporal characteristics of wind energy, wind energy classification, the short-term forecast of wind energy and the long-term projection of wind energy, according to the research content and the future considerations about wind energy evaluation (evaluation of wind energy on islands and reefs, the impact of wind energy development on human health) were envisaged, in the hope of providing a scientific basis for the site selection and business operation ‘or military applications’ here (after business operation), etc. of wind energy development, ‘aritime navigation against environmental construction,’ here and also contributing to the sustainable development and health of human beings.

Abstract Background Active learning pedagogy has recently received a great deal of attention, and many universities have attempted to create student-centered learning environments to improve students’ academic success. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of concept-point-recovery (CPR) teaching sessions as an active learning strategy on students’ perceptions of the learning environment, motivation, and academic learning outcomes in an electrical engineering course. To investigate the effectiveness of CPR sessions, students’ perceptions of learning and their performance were compared to those of students in a control classroom. Finally, students’ written comments on the course and instructor were explored in further analysis. Results The quantitative findings revealed that there was a significant change in students’ perceptions of learning after the CPR teaching sessions, and there was an increase in students’ perceptions and learning outcomes compared with those of the control group. In addition, the qualitative findings from students’ written feedback demonstrated that students felt that the instructor cared about students’ learning and success and that they had a positive learning environment. Conclusions CPR teaching sessions can be an alternative model for instructors to connect with students and create supportive environments to help students achieve academic success, which in turn promotes the satisfaction of students’ basic psychological needs and self-determined motivation. Therefore, increasing students’ engagement in their learning processes and making connections with students through CPR teaching sessions can facilitate improvements in students’ motivation and academic success. How this new active learning technique can be applied to higher education is discussed.

The present paper assesses the performance and characteristics of fiber Bragg grating sensors, with a special interest in their applications in hydraulic machinery and systems. The hydropower industry is turning to this technology with high expectations of obtaining high quality data to validate and calibrate numerical models that could be used as digital twins of key assets, further strengthening the sector’s relevant position within industry 4.0. Prior to any validation, fiber Bragg grating sensors’ ability to perform well underwater for long periods of time with minimal degradation, and their ease of scalability, drew the authors´ attention. A simplified modal analysis of a partially submerged beam is proposed here as a first step to validate the potential of this type of technology for hydropower applications. Fiber Bragg grating sensors are used to obtain the beam’s natural frequencies and to damp vibrations under different conditions. The results are compared with more established waterproof electric strain gauges and a laser vibrometer with good agreement. The presence of several sensors in a single fiber ensures high spatial resolution, fundamental to precisely determine vibration patterns, which is a main concern in this industry. In this work, the beam’s vibration patterns have been successfully captured under different excitations and conditions.
