Indonesian tourism was ranked 40th out of 140 countries in the world in the category of Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) in 2019. This was of course supported by the advancement of regional tourism in Indonesia. One of the areas which is improving the tourism sector is Purwakarta Regency. Purwakarta Regency donates its favorite tourist destination, the Sri Baduga Situ Buleud Fountain Park which is the Top Five Tourism Destination in Indonesia. The media of his young people also helped to promote massive things related to the Sri Baduga Fountain Park. The media is named @urangpurwakarta. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with the concept of communication strategy. This research involved 3 key informants. The results of this research are the planning of @uranagpurwakarta in the form of determining targets, media and content, the implementation phase of @urangpurwakarta making Explore Purwakarta content, Purwakarta Original, Purwakarta Muda, and What the Facts Purwakarta. The evaluation phase of @urangpurwakarta becomes more active in providing information according to the direction of the organizer of Sri Baduga Water Park.  AbstractThe continuous rapidly growth of tourism sector with the tight competition in the field of tourismmakes not all tourist destinations in the world always experience an increase in the number of tourist visits each year. Banjarmasin City, dubbed the “Kota Seribu Sungai” or "City of Thousand Rivers" and is known as the Thousand Rivers tourist destination has experiencedfluctuate number of tourist arrivals and tend to decline. The fluctuate number of tourist arrivalssourced from tourist visiting decisions can be influenced by various factors, including tourism destination productsand image. This study aims to see the effects of tourism destination products consisting of physical products, people, packages, and programsalsothe image of tourism destinations consisting of cognitive image and affective image on tourists visiting decision to the city of Thousand River Banjarmasin. The data obtained were taken by questionnaire to 123 tourists by accidental sampling. The results of the research were analyzed using multiple linear regression with two equations, namely (I) The influence of tourism destination products on tourist visiting decision and (II) The impact of tourism destination image on tourist visiting decision. The resultsfound the positive influence of tourism destination products to thetourist visiting decision of 54.5% and the image of tourism destination on the tourist visiting decision of 53.4% and the rest of 45.5% and 46.6% influenced by other factors not examined. The results of the analysis also showed the effect of tourism destination products variable partially consisting of physical products, packages, and programs have an effect on the decision of tourists while people have no influence. As for the variable image of tourism destinations in partial consisting of cognitive image and affective image affect the decision of tourists visiting to Kota Seribu Sungai Banjarmasin.

Every development activity always leads to better things. If development is not achieved, it will impact the society negatively. Through each of existing social changes, the existing community is expected to work together in carrying out any existing development activities, one of which is in the tourism sector, namely the construction of the Equator Park. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, and the techniques used in data collection are observation and interviews. The purpose of this study is to see and find out the changes that have occurred in economic and socio-cultural fields that have existed in the community, especially in Jeruju Besar Village since the existence of the Equator Park tourist destination. The results indicated the occurrence of socio-cultural and economic changes leading to positive things for the people in Jeruju Besar village since the existence of the Equator Park tourist destination, and the community is required to be more creative and innovative in creating Equator Park tourist attractions and utilizing technology in introducing the tourist attractions.

Abstract: Bali has to maintain its image and reputation as the world leading class tourist destination. Tourism in fact is a vulnerable industry easily ruined by related issues and crises. Therefore, Public Relations (PR) with its communication strategy is highly required to maintain good relationships with related parties. This study is aimed at identifying Bali’s Public Relations positioning and setting up its PR strategies. Data and information are gained by means of questionnaire distributed to The Bali Tourism Board (BTB) with its stakeholders as an organization playing important role in Bali tourism. The data is then analyzed by SWOT (Strength Weaknesses Opportunities and Threats) analysis. It is then found that Bali’s PR positioning is on quadrant V means Stabilization/Growth. The appropriate strategies then are socializing the importance of Issue and Crisis Management, be more creative in tourism related special events, developing relationships with medias, improving tourism publication’s quality, maintaining relationships with related tourism organization and Bali community internally.

Abstract The travel and tourism industry is one of the largest and fastest-growing sectors in the world. In the case of countries like Georgia, where tourism is a priority sector of the economy, innovation is crucial for a tourism-based development strategy — and this has become particularly important in the post-pandemic realities. This paper proposes a certain framework for understanding the possibilities for harnessing technological innovations in the travel industry (particularly apps and websites). It then considers the specific example of the country of Georgia, outlining the state’s measures meant to foster IT innovation in tourism and also certain moderate successes to date in this respect. Next, the paper looks to Russian tourist-sector start-ups as models for operation that be successfully harnessed in the Georgian tourism industry, examining several such Russian start-ups in closer detail.

If Pandemic has had an impact on any business it’s primarily a tourism business. Other businesses have a very close relation with this business and therefore they have been affected as well. As you know, the world travel and tourism market is expected to have lost more than 75.2 million jobs by 2020. According to the UNWTO, small and medium-sized enterprises were most affected. Their share in the tourism sector is 80%. Coronavirus will have a special impact on the countries whose economy accounts for a large share of tourism and whose economic growth is largely due to the tourism sector, and Georgia is also among them. According to the Georgian government, Georgia will develop the tourism sector in the near future, of course, in compliance with the safety standard and taking into account the recommendations. Tourism is the sector that has received the hardest and first blow due to the crisis and which, in addition to being one of the most important driving forces of the country's economy in recent years, the sector has a competitive advantage that can contribute to the economic development of Georgia in the post-crisis pandemic economy. Tourism is one of the largest spheres in the world, and its development is conditioned by the safe environment of the country, economic and political stability. It creates jobs and helps increase incomes for the population. International tourism contributes to the inflow of foreign currency into the country and affects the social and cultural environment of the country. That is why it is important to bring the tourism business out of the crisis.

Representation of a tourist destination on the media which able to reach around the world is very crucial in order to introduce and promote it to the large scope of the public. The internet, particularly website is one of the media to let people recognise and realise a destination as the place to visit. A study found most tourists visit and explore an official website and then to respond as if they were planning to travel to the destination (Jeon, et.al, 2017). This indicates that the official website still plays an important role in tourists’ decision making pre-visiting. Jakarta, for example, as one of a tourist destination, at once is also a capital city of Indonesia, central of business in Indonesia and a modern city. Therefore, the concepts of representation play an important role to depict Jakarta as a destination, for example, the use of themes to represent Jakarta as a holiday place on the website, such as focusing on the traditional and modern Jakarta (Djumrianti, 2016). Thus, the purpose of this paper is to analyse how the exoticism concept is used through twenty-five photos and fourteen sections of texts on the official websites which last update in 2014. The study found exoticism idea is one of the strategies used by the Jakarta government in the representation of the city on the Enjoy Jakarta website and the Portal Site of Jakarta Capital City. This concept influences on the commercialisation of Jakarta as a whole a tourist destination.

The role of stakeholders is critical in addressing challenges with or problems in small-scale sports events. The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of the event stakeholders toward sports events, with a particular focus on the role of residents in a tourist destination. The goal is to understand their perceptions with respect to different topics and in particular to the sustainable development of the tourist destination. This case study focuses on the World Junior Alpine Ski Championships 2019 in Trentino Val di Fassa—Italy (JWC2019). Applying a mixed methodology, the study analyzes the stakeholders during the sports event (quantitative method) and the point of view of the residents in their stakeholder role after the sports event (qualitative method). The main findings of this study show that residents differ from tourists and other stakeholders in terms of their perception of the event and its strengths. But when it comes to the perceptions regarding the territory, the groups of stakeholders analyzed do not seem to have systematically different opinions. Some paradoxes do, however, emerge with respect to the residents’ awareness of their role as stakeholders and the implications of the event with respect to sustainability and how such an event may underpin a concept of sustainable development for the territory as a whole.

The travel industry worldwide has been dealt a vicious blow. It is forecast that the number of international tourist arrivals will fall by 60-80%% in 2020 due to the novel coronavirus, putting millions of jobs at risk (Alpert & Beilfuss, 2020; UNTWO, 2020). The drop in arrivals will lead to an estimated loss of $300-450 billion in international tourism receipts (The Economic Times, 2020). The industry will recover, but travel will never be the same again, and the year 2020 will be a defining moment in the history of the tourism sector. But how did this crisis unfold and start to impact travel? This chapter will track the period between the first signs of the virus at the end of 2019 to the beginning of April 2020, showing how as the virus spread, so too did its impact on the travel and tourism around the world.

Bali Island is a famous tourist destination in the world and this has made it a gathering hub and multicultural meeting center for tourists from several countries, thereby, raising concern on the possibility of the area losing its traditional Balinese architecture. It is necessary to make adjustments by adopting the shape of the old Balinese building. This means the emergence of new functions is not a taboo but a new design challenge, therefore, the traditional Balinese architecture and theater provisions were combined to produce a neo-vernacular architecture by using descriptive qualitative method. First to be hit by the pandemic and last to recover, the travel and tourism industry is considered to be one of the most severely affected sectors. The paper tries to highlight the vulnerabilities of GDP, employment and related activities of the tourism sector by looking at it through a macro perspective using data from the World Bank, International Labour Organization, the United Nations World Trade Organization and, the World Travel and Tourism Council, in addition, substantiating the results through micro evidences in the form of case studies. The paper, using quantitative and qualitative methods, shows that GDP, employment and related activities are susceptible to the pandemic- COVID-19 and suggests how to pandemic-proof the sector that not only contributes significantly to GDP but weaves the thread of interconnectedness across the world.
