This study goes into how an integration of process-genre approach and project ibunka improves students English writing. Through Process-Genre approach, students put in writing essays by combining Process and Genre based writing. Meanwhile, Project Ibunka as an online collaborative writing project is deployed as a means of publishing the students writing to be read and commented by other students from various cultures and countries. In the context of this study, Ibunka also provides sources used to explore the topic and as a writing model. This study is a classroom action research that involved 46 university students in two classes who learned to compose English essays in three learning cycles within twelve meetings. The integration of Process-Genre and Project Ibunka is implemented in four stages: introducing and exploring theme and topics of writing, modeling and determining genre, joint writing and independent writing. In joint and independent writing, the students go through several stages of writing process such as planning, drafting, writing, revising and editing. The result of essays scoring shows average score improvement in both classes from cycle 1 to cycle 2 and cycle 3. This students writing improvement is also confirmed by students positive responses revealed from observation, questionnaire and students interview.

This classroom action research was intended to improve the tenth grade students’ writing achievement in creating brochure at SMAN I Tongas Probolinggo by applying media of animation video. The respondents of this classroom Action research (CAR) were class XMIPA 1 that was determined purposively. The class XMIPA 1 were chosen as the subjects of this research because the class had more complicated problem dealing with writing and their average score in writing was the lowest among three existing classes that was 70.2 in the first semester. This CAR consisted of two cycles, in which each cycle covered four main stages including: the planning of the action, the implementation of the action, classroom observation. Meanwhile, the supporting data were gathered from interview and documentation. The result of the average score of the writing test in the first cycle was M=70,75 that was classified in the fair category. This result did not achieved the standard average score requirement in this research that was M≥75. Besides, based on the classroom observation that was done in the first cycle, it was found that the students’ involvement in the process of writing activities was 45%. Therefore, the actions were proceeded to the second cycle by revising the first action cycle such as: optimalizing the students’ participation in the process of writing activities, giving enough clues about the present tense ‘command sentences’, brochure and the way to apply media of animation video to the students. The results of the average score of the writing test in the second cycle was better M=75.86 that was classified in the good category. Besides, the students’ involvement in the writing process improved from 45% in the first cycle up to 84,6% in the second cycle. It means that both the students’ writing test and the students’ involvement in the writing process improved in the second cycle and fulfilled the target of this research. Based on the results, it could be concluded that the use of video animation media could improve the tenth st grade students’ writing achievement at SMAN I Tongas Probolinggo in two cycles. Then it is suggested to The English teacher to apply media of animation video as the alternative way of English teaching technique, especially in teaching writing a brochure. This is expected to facilitate and to help the students collaborate and share knowledge and experiences with their classmate to solve the writing problems.

This study was an action research. The research was conducted  because there were some students who got difficulties in comprehending Chemistry Concepts, they were not active, and their learning achievements were still low. Therefore, the researcher offered a learning method called Structure Exercise Method (SEM) to improve the student’s comrehension on Chemistry Concepts, learning activeness and achievement.  The research participants were the students of grade XI MIA 1 SMAN 4 Kerinci. The researcher was helped by a collaborator who was also a teacher of Chemistry subject. The study was conducted in two cycles in four stages; (a) Planning (b) Action (c) Observation, (d) Reflection. The analysis data result showed that there were significant improvements on the student’s comprehension toward Chemistry Concept, learning activeness and achievement after the Structure Exercise Methode (SEM) was implemented. The student’s average score in precycle was only 61 (32%), it improved to 69 (52%) in cycle 1, then in cycle 2, it improved higher to 82 (82%). Moreover, the student’s phsychomotoric activeness’ score in cycle 1 was 69 (60%) and it became higher to 76 (80%) in cycle 2. As a conclusion, the Structure Exercise Method (SEM) significantly improved the students’ comprehension on the Chemistry consept, learning activeness and achievement on reaction Rate subject at grade XI MIA 1 SMAN 4 Kerinci.  Therefore, it was suggested to Chemistry Teachers to apply this method as one of solution in teaching Chemistry especially on Reaction Rate Subject.
