This study is a survey- based research about teachers’ perception on classroom action research in English education among English teachers  in  Ciamis.  The objective of  the study  is to investigate how English teachers perceive on classroom action research in teaching English. It varies among English teachers, indeed. Thus, this survey reveals their sight, point of view, and expectation toward classroom action research. Open-ended questionnaire is the only instrument given to 20 respondents during the survey. It consists of 4 questions. Simple random sampling has been applied. All of them are English teachers from elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools and vocational schools in Ciamis. Ten of them are civil servants and the other ten are not. They are from certified and non certified teachers. The survey result shows different English teachers’ perception on classroom action research in percentage display taken from four questions.  Almost all respondents know the function of classroom action research in connection with finding the solution of overcoming some students’ learning problems in the classroom. Some of them have ever made classroom action research and know its procedure. All of them expect the government not to put pressure on English teachers to make classroom action research as the requirement unless they will get sanction due to the fact that it is instructed by the Education and Culture ministry. The conclusion is classroom action research has been a big concern among English teachers in Ciamis. The suggestion then goes to all English teachers to conduct classroom action research as an action to develop their teaching quality not to gain the government reward. Keywords: classroom action research, English teachers, teachers’ perception

Due to Questioning and answering as the activities that cannot be separated from Daily communication, the difficulties of speaking English encountered by pre-service English teachers are highly required to be overcome. In addition, they are future English Teachers. This study, therefore, aims at enhancing students’ speaking ability through Questioning technique and finding out the factors that influence the change of students’ speaking ability. This study was a classroom action research, which was carried out in two cycles. The freshmen of English Education Department were the participants of the research. Based on the findings, it showed that Questioning Technique could improve students’ speaking ability in terms of accent, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension, in which speaking fluency was the highest improvement of all. Moreover, it led the students to good self confidence and classroom participation. In short, the more the students use questioning technique, the better the students’ speaking ability is.

The obejectives of this research are to know the improvement  of the students’ achievement in poetry mastery and their perception regarding to the semiotic method in teaching and learning poetry in  English Education Department, Languages and Art Faculty of State University of Medan. The research method used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of the research are the fifth semester of 37 students of 2013/2014 academic year. The data are collected by test in order to know the students’ achievment in poetry mastery. The students’ perception toward the implementation of the semiotic method for teaching and learning poetry is collected by questionaire. The data are analyzed by descriptive analysis. The result of research shows that (1) the average score of the students’ achievement of poetry mastery is (71.75) or it increases (11,59) point from pre-test (60.16) and (2) in general, the students’ perception toward the semiotic method for teaching and learning poetry are good and positive.

This study aims to describe the factors that support students' ability in the learning process to speak using video. This research was classroom action research. Classroom action research was done in four steps: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Quantitative data was gained from the score of the student's speaking test. The test was given at the end of every cycle. The qualitative data was collected through the result of observation. It described the factors that support the students' ability to speak based on the result observation from the collaborator activities both the students and the researcher itself. The research aimed to explain how video can increase students' speaking skills in the second semester of the English Education Study Program for IKIP Gunungsitoli. Using video can increase students' skills in speaking. Quantitative data support it included test results in every cycle. The quantitative data show that students have improved speaking skills in every cycle using video and reaching the indicator of success. The students' ability to speak cannot pass the score standard in the cycle because most students cannot convey their ideas about the material. However, in cycle II, there is increasing in student's ability to speak. The quantitative data also is supported by the qualitative data through observation results. The observation sheet result describes that the students' activities improved every meeting by using video.

The government in Indonesia issues new rules to prepare pre-service teachers to be professional teachers in the future by asking them to attend additional education named Teachers Professional Education Program (locally known as Program Profesi Guru).  This Case Study aimed to identify the obstacles experienced by pre-service English teachers in FKIP Universitas Riau during the PPG program and the Teaching Practicum (PPL) as a part of PPG program. This is qualitative research involving 10 alumni of the Subsidized PPG English Education Department. Focus Group Discussion was used to collect data from the participants. The data obtained were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s thematic analysis and referred to the three procedures introduced by Flick i.e., open coding, axial coding and selective coding with the help of the Nvivo 12 software. The findings showed seven emerging obstacles faced by the pre-service English teachers during Teachers Professional Education Program (PPG). There were one (1) obstacle found at the first-semester theory program in PPG, and six (6) obstacles found at the second-semester practicum program in PPG which known as PPL.

Many problems faced by students in participating in the classroom and writing a text. This study discussed the use of write-pair-square strategy to improve the students’ active participation in writing descriptive text. The objectives of the study are to find out the implementation of write-pair-square in teaching descriptive text and to investigate the improvement of students’ participation and writing achievement after being taught by using write-pair-square strategy. The research focused on teaching of descriptive text by using write-pair-square as the strategy. The subjects are SMA Kesatrian 2 Semarang students. This study used Classroom Action Research that was carried out through a pre-test, first and second cycle activities. The result showed that the students’ progress of participation improved. The average score of pre-test was 11.27, post-test 1 was 20.13, and post-test 2 was 30.24. It also showed that students’ mastering descriptive improved. The average achievement of students’ pretest was63.27, First cycle test was70.23and post test was 77.66. According to this study, I conclude that teaching descriptive text by using write-pair-square as the strategy is helpful for students. It is recommended for English teachers to use Write-pair-square as the strategy for students’ improvement of their writing skill. The government program in establishing the Teachers Subject (MGMP) forum in each district is a forum for subject teachers to exchange information on the latest policies and programs of the government. Regulation of Permendiknas No 35/2010 regarding technical guidance on the implementation of functional position of teachers which one of the requirements must conduct Classroom Action Research (PTK) becomes one of the problems for teachers of MGMP PPKn especially in Kabupaten Ponorogo. This is supported by the low interest of teachers in making Classroom Action Research caused by a lack of understanding about the making of the PTK itself. The purpose of this PKM activity is to provide a general overview of the steps of the implementation of PTK activities that lead to the subjects of PPKn in particular and provide mentoring classes in the making of PTK proposals. Method of implementation of activities undertaken in this PKM activity is the main implementation of the training workshop making of PTK as well as conducting a class of assistance making the PTK proposal. The results of this activity include: 1) Obtaining titles of PTK submitted by teachers MGMP PPKn Ponorogo District; 2) PTK proposal from teachers of MGMP PPKn Kabupaten Ponorogo; 3) The results of the presentation of proposals for some teachers MGMP PPKn Ponorogo District and improvements together in the classroom.Keyword: Classroom Action Research, MGMP, PPKn Subject ABSTRAKProgram pemerintah dalam membentuk forum Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) di setiap kabupaten merupakan satu wadah bagi guru mata pelajaran untuk bertukar informasi tentang kebijakan dan program-program terbaru dari pemerintah. Adanya tuntutan peraturan Permendiknas No 35/2010 tentang petunjuk teknis pelaksanaan jabatan fungsional guru yang salah satu persyaratannya harus melakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) menjadi salah satu problema bagi guru-guru MGMP PPKn khususnya di Kabupaten Ponorogo. Hal ini didukung dengan rendahnya minat guru dalam pembuatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang disebabkan oleh pemahaman yang kurang tentang pembuatan PTK itu sendiri. Tujuan dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah memberikan gambaran secara umum tentang langkah-langkah pelaksanaan kegiatan PTK yang mengarah pada mata pelajaran PPKn khususnya serta menyediakan kelas pendampingan dalam pembuatan proposal PTK. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan PKM ini yang utama adalah pelaksanaan kegiatan workshop pelatihan pembuatan PTK serta melakukan kelas pendampingan pembuatan proposal PTK. Hasil dari kegiatan ini antara lain: 1)Memperoleh judul-judul PTK yang diajukan oleh guru-guru MGMP PPKn Kabupaten Ponorogo; 2) Proposal PTK dari guru-guru MGMP PPKn Kabupaten Ponorogo; 3) Hasil presentasi proposal bagi beberapa guru MGMP PPKn Kabupaten Ponorogo serta perbaikan secara bersama di dalam kelas.Kata Kunci: Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, MGMP, Mata Pelajaran PPKn

ABSTRAK Kurikulum 2013 (Kurtilas) telah dicanakan dan bahkan diterapkan. Pendekatan pembelajaran yang dikembangkan di Kurtilas merupakan sesuatu yang relatif baru bagi guru, perlu pembiasaan dalam menerapkannya.  Pelatihan yang diberikan pemerintah untuk penguasaan Kurtilas sangat terbatas waktunya, untuk itu guru perlu dilatih bagaimana mengembangkan diri untuk bisa menerapkan Kurtilas dengan baik, pengetahuan mengenai pelaksanaan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) haruslah dikuasai siswa, sebagai alat pengembangan diri. Di samping  itu  perlunya  penguasaan  dan  bantuan  Teknologi,  Komunikasi  dan  Informasi amatlah penting dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran di dalam kelas, khsusnya Geometri. Oleh karena itu, perlu dikenalkan kepada para guru beragam softesre yang dapat membantu dan memaksimalkan pembelajaran di dalam kelas.   ABSTRACTThe 2013 curriculum (Kurtilas) has been adapted and even implemented. The learning approach developed in Kurtilas is something that is relatively new for the teacher, it is necessary to habituate in applying it. The training provided by the government for the control of Kurtilas is very limited, so teachers need to be trained in how to develop themselves to apply Kurtilas well, knowledge of the implementation of Classroom Action Research (PTK) must be mastered by students, as a tool of self-development. In addition, the need for mastery and assistance of Technology, Communication and Information is very important in the implementation of learning in the classroom, especially Geometry. Therefore, it should be introduced to teachers of various softesre who can help and maximize learning in the classroom.

This study aims at (1) seeking whether or not crafting media is able to enhance students’ English vocabulary of fourth grade at SDIT Anak Sholeh Mataram and (2) elaborating on how Craftingmedia is implemented to enhance students’ English vocabulary of fourth grade at SDIT Anak Soleh Mataram. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) with test, observation, and documentation as the instruments of gaining data. Based on data findings, the mean score of pretest was 80.7 and posttest was 88.9. This significant gap in scores between pretest and posttest (8.2) implied there had been enhancement in students’ English vocabulary achievement as the students were taught by using Crafting media. Crafting media was implemented through several related phases which presented students’ direct and active selves-involvement to pump up the students’ learning motivation to recognize various objects their surroundings. Thus, it can be concluded that Crafting media is able to enhance students’ English vocabulary learning of fourth grade at SDIT Anak Sholeh Mataram. Furthermore, Crafting also could help the students drive their motor and language skills. Therefore, it is expected that English teachers use Crafting media as an alternative teaching media to enhance students’ vocabulary in the English class learning.

The objectives of this research aimed at (i) finding out the causes of the problems in teaching English at vocational high schools and (ii) finding out the possible solution toward the problems of the teachers in teaching English subject at vocational high schools. The researcher applied purposive sampling technique in selecting the participants. The participants consisted of two advanced teachers and two beginner teachers at vocational high schools in Somba Opu sub-district. The additional participants were two headmasters that focused on the possible solution dealing with the problem found by the English teachers at VHS. This research under applied descriptive approach and qualitative method. The data were collected by using two instruments namely semi-structured interview and observation checklist. The data were analyzed by using the framework of Miles and Huberman’s (2012) namely data reduction, data display, and drawing then verifying conclusion. The results of this research mentioned nine causes of the problems on the professional competence of English teachers in teaching at vocational high school and the possible solution toward the causes. The outline of the causes of the problems on professional competence are the less effort of the English teachers to improve the linguistic aspects, lack of English for Spesific Purpose knowledge, less of communicative competence, less preparation of teaching contents, less in using ICT as a teaching method and lack in managing the time and managing the class. The possible solution can draw in this research that the English teachers at VHS have to consider the students’ need, prepare the teaching planning and involved in the teaching training. Thus, this research might become a recommendation to the government and the Educational trainer for facilitating the English teachers at VHS with education training of ESP knowledge and supporting the teachers in developing their professional competence.

This Classroom Action Research aims to increase learning motivation and mastery of E-learning by using the Zenius application in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Kampar Utara in the academic year 2019/2020, totaling 32 people. This research was conducted from the beginning of April 2020 until the end of April 2020. This research is a classroom action research conducted online using several questionnaires, the link of which is sent to students through their WhatsApp group. This online research was conducted because it did not allow the writer to conduct research directly to school because at this time the teaching and learning process was carried out online. This online learning is due to the spread of the COVID-19 corona virus in almost all countries including Indonesia.
