Common Threats to the Efficiency and Productivity among Public Sector Employees in Jordan

The performance of employee's efficiency and productivity considered as significant indicators to determine competitiveness and productivity for institutions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the threats of efficiency and productivity among the employees in the Jordanian public institutions. The research method used is qualitative method by performing a semi-structured interviews with open-ended questions for (40) employees in the Jordanian public institutions. The results of the study show that threats of efficiency and productivity in public institutions employees are poor skill level, non-provision for rewards and appreciation, unawareness of latest project management techniques, prolonged purchase procedures, trade-off in cost and quality of equipment, rework and quality issues and distance between workplace and house. Formal, specialized and modified productivity improvement model recommended overcoming on these threats.

This study aims to determine the impact of business planning for the development of MSMEs. The research method uses is a qualitative method with a descriptive and explorative descriptive approach. From the results of the research conducted, the results show that proper business planning and the application of a good marketing strategy have a positive impact on the sustainability of MSME activities. In addition, the quality of production that has a competitive advantage is also one of the driving factors. For the development of MSMEs, there are several obstacles faced, especially related to capital and guidance from the local government. With the development of MSMEs, it is expected to improve people's welfare, including helping the government in reducing unemployment.

This article evaluates the job quality of work in the remote gig economy. Such work consists of the remote provision of a wide variety of digital services mediated by online labour platforms. Focusing on workers in Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, the article draws on semi-structured interviews in six countries ( N = 107) and a cross-regional survey ( N = 679) to detail the manner in which remote gig work is shaped by platform-based algorithmic control. Despite varying country contexts and types of work, we show that algorithmic control is central to the operation of online labour platforms. Algorithmic management techniques tend to offer workers high levels of flexibility, autonomy, task variety and complexity. However, these mechanisms of control can also result in low pay, social isolation, working unsocial and irregular hours, overwork, sleep deprivation and exhaustion.

ABSTRACTThis article analyses the strategies that frail, home-dwelling older people who receive food from public institutions develop and use during eating situations, to gain an insight into how older people mobilise resources in relation to eating. The analysis is based on semi-structured interviews and participant observation sessions with 25 home-dwelling frail older men and women, aged 72–101, who live in Copenhagen and receive food from the municipality. Like healthier older people, frail older Danes develop and use strategies to create acceptable eating situations. The strategies are linked to the arrangement of the eating situation, their former lives and experience with food and eating, and their perception of their own body. The focus on strategies enables insights into how frail older people manage to mobilise resources to create meaningful eating situations. However, even though they mobilise resources to create and maintain eating strategies, these are not all equally appropriate with regards to supporting a healthy nutritional status. The eating strategies used by frail older people and the resources they entail are key to their experience with eating. Focusing on these strategies is useful when developing public care initiatives as this will precipitate an awareness of the resources of this group and how these are activated and contribute to or detract from a healthy nutritional status and a high quality of life.

We studied the dialogue between telephone operators at medical emergency communication centres in Norway and parents of children later diagnosed with sudden infant death syndrome. The aim was to understand how the parents experienced the communication with the telephone operators. The qualitative method involved semi-structured interviews. We interviewed six respondents from urban areas and five from rural areas. An important finding was that all the parents were satisfied with the resuscitation instructions they received. It was also perceived as important that the emergency operators expressed empathy and care. We believe that it is not merely the quality of the resuscitation attempts that the operators' efforts should be measured against. It is also important that the operators provide good explanations and express emotional support. Our findings indicate that this will be enormously appreciated, even if callers do not feel that they are capable of performing optimum resuscitation.

Abstract This study aims to describe the implementation of learning supervision by the headmaster in Madrasah Aliyah Ghoyatul Jihad Karawang Regency viewed from aspects: 1. Planning learning supervision, 2. Implementation of learning supervision, 3. The relationship between planning and implementing learning supervision. Supervision of Madrasah Principal Learning is basically a servant activity for teachers conducted by madrasah principals for coaching teachers especially to improve the quality of learning. As an impact of increasing the quality of learning can certainly also increase student learning achievement and that means increasing the quality of madrasah graduates themselves. So that supervision of learning of teachers is expected to be carried out on an ongoing basis so that the teacher's pedagogical competence can increase. The research method used by researchers in conducting this research is descriptive qualitative method, in which the researcher describes and analyzes the data obtained in the field. Data collection techniques are done through observation, interviews and documentation. The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze the implementation of learning supervision conducted by the headmaster in Madrasah Aliyah Ghoyatul Jihad. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the implementation of learning supervision has been effective because the headmaster of madrasas when supervising learning refers to the planning program that has been created to improve teacher pedagogical competence. Key words: Learning Supervision, Madrasah Head Learning Supervision, Teacher's Pedagogical Competencies   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan supervisi pembelajaran oleh kepala madrasah di Madrasah Aliyah Ghoyatul Jihad Kabupaten Karawang dilihat dari aspek: 1. Perencanaan supervisi pembelajaran, 2. Pelaksanaan supervisi pembelajaran, 3. Hubungan antara perencanaan dan pelaksanaan supervisi pembelajaran. Supervisi Pembelajaran Kepala Madrasah pada dasarnya suatu kegiatan pelayan untuk guru yang dilakukan kepala madrasah untuk pembinaan kepada guru khususnya agar kualitas pembelajarannya meningkat. Sebagai dampak meningkatnya kualitas pembelajaran tentu dapat meningkat pula prestasi belajar siswa dan itu berarti meningkatlah kualitas lulusan madrasah itu sendiri. Sehingga supervisi pembelajaran terhadap guru diharapkan dapat terlaksana secara berkelanjutan agar kompetensi pedagogik guru dapat meningkat. Metode penelitian yang peneliti gunakan dalam melakukan penelitian ini yaitu metode kualitatif deskriptif, dimana peneliti mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis data-data yang diperoleh di lapangan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisa implementasi supervisi pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh kepala madrasah di Madrasah Aliyah Ghoyatul Jihad. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan supervisi pembelajaran sudah efektif karena kepala madrasah ketika melakukan supervisi pembelajaran mengacu pada program perencanaan yang sudah di buat untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru. This paper describes the research work undertaken by the authors in applying action research methodology to identify the interpretation spectrum of the withholding tax provision in respect of section 4A of the Income Tax Act 1967 and the related public ruling. There has been no similar study published on using action research to improve the clarity of withholding tax provision. This study discusses the interpretation spectrum of section 4A of the Act on withholding tax. It is essential to focus on tax clarity as tax uncertainty affect both taxpayers and tax administration. The research had adopted action research method and utilised qualitative method of data gathering by way of focus group and semi-structured interviews and concludes that section 4A need improvements and policymakers should focus their attention on enacting clear law so that taxpayers understand and comply with the law.

The main focus of this research is the development of policy implementation and empowerment of institutions of social communication (KIM) in the district of West Java Cirebon City. Restrictions issues identified as follows: (1) How is the implementation of government policy in the empowerment of social communication media in Cirebon City of West Java; (2) What factors are supporting and inhibiting the implementation of government policy in the empowerment of institutions of social communication (KIM) in the district of Cirebon City, West Java; (3) Measures are implemented by the Office of Communications and Information Provincial / District / City in realizing the government's policy in the empowerment of social communication in public institutions. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method of data collection techniques through participant observation and in-depth interviews. Based on the results that in the implementation of government policy on the development and empowerment of institutions of social communication in the district of West Java Cirebon City through approach of policy implementation factors found another dimension, namely the importance of supervision and coordination.

Abstrak Persaingan di bidang industri pariwisata semakin ketat. Perubahan-perubahan di era distruptif ini mau tidak mau akan memaksa organisasi untuk terus menemukan inovasi-inovasi baru untuk tetap bersaing dengan organisasi lain. Salah satu organisasi di bidang jasa pariwisata adalah kampung tulip. Kampung tulip terletak di daerah ciwasta, Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk memberikan masukan-masukan/rekomendasi bagi pengelola objek wisata setelah peneliti melakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di kawasan tersebut sebagai bagian dari kewajiban perguruan tinggi untuk melakuakan Tri Dharma Pendidikan. Metode penelitian disini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan merekomendasikan penerapan ISO 9001:2015 secara bertahap sesuai dengan kemampuan organisasi, dan penerapan dimensi kualitas jasa servqual bagi pegawai di objek wisata kampung tulip. Dan diharapkan dengan diterapkannya ke dua rekomendasi tersebut akan mampu memberikan pengalaman lebih pada pengunjung dan pada akhirnya akan meningkatkan kepuasan dan word of mouth.Kata Kunci: Kualitas Pelayanan, ISO 9001, Kampung TulipAbstractCompetition in the tourism industry is getting tougher. ABSTRACTThe Influence of Service Quality of Dewi Sri Farmer’s Cooperative and theFarmer’s Work Productivity on the Welfare of Farmer’s at the Subak ofSengempel, Bongkasa Village, Sub-District of Abiansemal, Badung RegencyFarmer’s cooperative as a facilitator in improving welfare, the quality ofservice would be an important part in order to always be the selection of farmers toobtain the required product. The farmer’s cooperative is expected to provide the bestservices in order to achieve the welfare of farmers. An improved labor productivity offarmers as a source of income will have implications for the welfare of farmers. Thestudy objective was to determine the effect of service quality of the farmer’scooperative on the welfare of farmers at Subak of Sengempel.The research method used descriptive qualitative method. Total respondentswas 151 members of farmer’s cooperative taken by proportional random sampling.Data were analyzed using inferential statistics (SEM-PLS).The results showed that the quality of service of the farmer’s cooperative andthe farmer’s work productivity positively and very significantly effect on the welfareof farmers. Quality of services of the farmer’s cooperative positively and verysignificantly effect on the productivity of farmers. Quality of services of the farmer’scooperative has an influence in reaching the welfare of farmers, both directly andthrough the work productivity of farmers. The farmer’s cooperative should furtherimprove its reliability by serving members on time. The farmers of the Subak ofSengempel should increase the labor productivity by increasing the quantity of labor,especially by increasing the number of main harvests. The Local Government throughthe relevant departments should further improve coaching, training and monitoringof the services of the farmer’s cooperative and improving agricultural extensionprograms.Keywords: service, productivity, farmers, welfare.

<p><em>The development of technology in the era of industrial revolution 4.0 has a comprehensive impact into aspects of life, one of which is in the learning of history. The use of electronic media for historical learning needs has begun to be encouraged in various schools. Conventional historical learning is usually still one-way, or in other words still teaching oriented. Thus with the development of technology and to meet the needs of the times, learning media needs to be used in order to improve the quality of learning. In addition, with the use of learning media, it is expected that students have an interest in participating more in historical learning. This research tries to review the use of digital comic learning media in the subjects of Indonesian History in class X- MIA 3 senior high school Al-Izzah Kota Batu. The research method used a descriptive qualitative method.</em></p>
