The article analyzes and summarizes the motivational factors of Higher Education Institution (ZVO) students to play sports. Based on the theoretical analysis, it is revealed that an essential factor in skipping physical education classes is the motivation and motivational factors of the individual. The main circumstances are laziness, low level of strong-willed potential, indifference and lack of awareness of responsibility for their health, insufficient knowledge about the benefits of physical activity, dissatisfaction with the professional level of teachers, lack of personal interest in sports in general. According to the study, the first positions of recreation for students of Western military districts are sitting at a computer and other gadgets, visiting cinemas, clubs, and not doing physical exercises. The lack of scientifically based curricula is an obstacle to improving physical education performance among students. Students are not satisfied with the monotony of classes. Students’ requests demand professional training of the future specialist and at the same time improvement of the process of educating students' physical culture.

For modern physical education of students is characterized by significant psychological stress. Teachers and psychologists need to prepare students not only in psychological and physical condition, but also to help confront many factors that arise during the learning process in various situations that cause inconsistencies in the functions of the body and its nervous system. The accumulated evidence testifies to the close relationship between the spiritual and physical state of man, as well as the ability to use special physical techniques and self-suggestion to influence the mental and physiological functions of the body. Many authors in various fields have studied the methods of using physical education to improve the psychological and pedagogical foundations of physical education of students and their professional training as a specialist [1.3] Effective means of improving the psychological and pedagogical foundations of physical education and the formation of students' individual physical culture are appropriate norms, which are based on modern principles of physical education [4]. One of the main is the principle of priority of needs, motives and interests of the individual, which involves building a system of physical education in general and individual programs taking into account individual and group, social and spiritual needs of people, as well as forming and understanding the concept of "individual physical culture" on physical education and motivation to engage in physical culture.

It is known that movements are the final expression of almost all processes occurring in the body. Unmet need for muscle activity has negative consequences for the functional state of the body and physical performance. Systematic physical exercises for a long period of time naturally lead to specific changes in the physical development of students. At the same time, the data of physical development studies become especially important when they are associated with indicators of the functional state of the organism, its efficiency and preparedness.

The level of motor training of students is not a stable index over a period of time. It degrades if the physical activity of the individual is reduced or the practice of physical exercises does not have a systematic character. This process takes place, for example, at the beginning of the school year, for the students who did not play sports during the holidays. For this reason, one of the tasks of physical school education is to train - educate students and form the stable motivation for practicing physical exercises throughout the year, the formation of the skills and abilities to organize the physical activity independently, based on the consideration that, over time, the motivation for practicing physical exercises will decrease. But the motivation is closely related to the gratification of what students have in relation to the physical education lessons. It has been established that the gratification of the physical education lessons is tested by 60% of the students in the primary classes, while in the secondary classes only 30%. The degree of gratification from the physical education lessons is an important component of the children's attitude towards this discipline. Motivated physical activity is one of the most important characteristics of modern physical culture.

The article reveals the peculiarities of the use of athletics to improve the physical fitness of students of higher education institutions. The influence of physical education on motivation for athletics is also revealed. It is established that the use of means and methods of athletics in physical education classes in higher education institutions leads to a significant increase in the level of physical fitness. It was found that one of the factors influencing the growth of student morbidity and low level of their physical development is the lack of physical activity. The combination of these factors determines the level of physical fitness and efficiency, which, in turn, are important indicators of professional training of students. However, the use of other methods of strength development, the method of unsatisfactory efforts with a normalized number of repetitions, the method of unsatisfactory efforts with the maximum number of repetitions, the method of dynamic efforts, the shock method, the method of static efforts, the static-dynamic method, the method of circular training, the game method has a beneficial effect on the development of all physical qualities. The decrease in the indicators of general physical fitness is facilitated by the fact that during the holidays, students practically do not go in for sports on their own. As the analysis of the survey has shown, only students of higher educational institutions are independently engaged in physical culture.

The study is devoted to the analysis of the formation of physical culture of students in a medical university. The specificity of the medical profession contains a number of important characteristics (emotional and volitional stability, endurance, physical and mental endurance, dexterity in carrying out medical procedures, motor coordination, etc.) that require appropriate physical training. Physical culture in this regard for physicians is not only a part of general culture, but also a professional culture. However, as shown by a sociological survey of medical students, they do not sufficiently assess the degree of importance of the discipline “Physical culture”. This requires the development of new approaches to organizing and conducting physical education classes in a medical University including such as the proposed practice-oriented (D.A. will allow raising the status of the discipline in question in a medical university and linking it with the professional training of medical students.

Physical education is the main objective of physical education in preschool educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus. This is an integral part of the successful improvement of a diversified personality, both in the field of physical culture and in the connection with other areas of life. In this regard, the issue of increasing the level of formation of physical education knowledge, an integral part of the cognitive component of personal physical education, is currently very relevant in the education system at all its levels. The modern system of preschool and general secondary education in the field of physical education is aimed at creating knowledge and ideas about physical culture among pupils as a part of the general human culture, revealing and developing child’s physical abilities and, in general, increasing pupils’ interest in sports. Currently, new views and theoretical and methodological approaches to the problem of physical education of preschoolers are emerging. Many experts in this field believe that it is possible to form an interest in physical culture in special conditions of kindergarten or out-of-school visits to sports sections. Other researchers see a solution to this problem in increasing the number of physical education classes or in educating the physical culture of the individual in a home environment. However, there is no generally accepted position in this regard. Purpose: to determine the physical needs, motives and values for physical culture of elementary schoolchildren attending day-care centers. Materials and methods: the organization of the study is represented by conducting a diagnostic questionnaire through test tasks developed by the authors, compiled taking into account the age characteristics of older preschool children on the basis of the Preschool Center for the Development of a Child in Chechersk. Results: the results of the study revealed the general level of formation of the cognitive component of personal physical education of older preschool children, as well as the most learned types of five basic physical education knowledge in boys and girls of preschool age: about physical exercise, health, personal hygiene, physical opportunities, the Olympic movement. Girls were found to have a higher overall level of physical education than boys in testing physical capabilities and the Olympic knowledge. Conclusion: without a balanced system of physical education knowledge a child cannot be an active and interested participant in physical education. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, it is very important for a teacher to understand not only the structure and content of this most important component of personal physical culture, to know the mechanisms for its formation, but also to possess the method of its diagnosis. Keywords: cognitive component; senior preschoolers; physical education knowledge; personal physical education; physical culture of the individual; physical education environment; physical education thinking.
