In the reform of AÜG (Temporary Agency Work Act) that became effective on the 1st of April, 2017, one of the key elements was the limitation of the period of assignment to a maximum of, in general, 18 months. This, with regard to labor market policy, controversial provision contains far more than a formal limitation of temporary agency work. It decides on the permissibility and expedience of temporary agency work in Germany. At the same time, the provision reshapes the complex system of collective agreements in the temporary work industry while strikingly raising the question of a higher-ranking content of temporary agency work. Taking European and national law into consideration, the author creates an overall concept for the limitation of the period of assignment in the field of temporary agency work. Additionally, he addresses fundamental questions regarding the right of association as well as the right of collective agreements that arise from the dispositive character of the provision. In June of 2019, this dissertation received the Dissertation Award for Labor Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Cologne.

The right to work has been recognized as a fundamental human right in almost all international human rights documents and in the constitutions of many countries. This right has been recognized and guaranteed as a fundamental human right also in the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey. However, not only recognizing and guaranteeing "work" as a fundamental human right but also regulating its implementation and functioning within the framework of laws is of great importance. The concept of overwork is a concept that has been mentioned in the Labor Law regarding the implementation and functioning of the concept of work and it is regulated in our Labor Law No. 4857. In order to talk about overwork, a limited working time is required. In this context, upon determining the maximum number of hours a worker can work per week by drawing a limit on working hours in Labor Law No. 4857, overwork, which is the subject of work exceeding this period, is defined. Furthermore, the types of overwork that arise depending on the reasons for overworking, as well as the jobs that cannot be overworked, are regulated in the same Law.

It will soon be 75 years since the United Nations Charter proclaimed the equal rights of peoples including their right to self-determination, as well as the obligations of countries — members to protect these rights collectively. In 1966, the International Covenants on Human Rights were signed and entered into force in 1976. So began with the confirmation of the right of peoples to self-determination and clarification of the content of this right. In subsequent decades, the UN and continental organizations have adopted hundreds of international agreements on certain as- pects of people’s rights (to choose a social system, study in native languages, to development and progress, etc.). However, many ethnic groups still cannot use their lawfully granted rights due to reasons which are beyond their control. The author of the article provides an explanation of the reasons preventing people from realizing the selfdetermination right recognized by the world community on the example of the Kurdish people. The theoretical and methodological aspects of the problem may be equally applicable to other peoples who, against their will, find themselves in multinational states.

The Covid19 pandemic has caused complicated problems for many entrepreneurs, including partners who are micro-entrepreneurs. The Semanggi Stick micro business, which is run by a group of women in Lakarsantri Village, Surabaya City, has been severely affected by the Covid19 pandemic. Even in the first few months of the pandemic outbreak, their businesses did not operate. The clover sticks they produce are not the main choice that must be purchased for communities around the partner’s location. This is possible because so far partners have only marketed their products around their area, partners have not taken advantage of the availability of digital technology in marketing. In addition, partners have been carrying out the production process using conventional and simple equipment. This was considered ineffective and resulted in some partner members choosing other activities that were more productive. With the right technology application model, both in the production and marketing processes, partners will experience an increase in sales. Before the pandemic, the sales generated by partners was at 500 thousand to 1 million per month, after using this technology application model partners can get a sales of more than 2 million Rupiah in one month.
