Stroke is the first cause of serious disability in the world. In general, the condition of patients post-stroke experience interference on the part of the lower or upper extremities and difficulty in speaking. So patients post stroke should routinely perform the activity of daily living to increase self-sufficiency in post-stroke patients. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship of family support and attitude toward self-sufficiency in post-stroke patients in performing the activity of daily living in nerve polyclinic at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang year 2017. This type of research is descriptive analytic, cross-sectional design research. The population in this research the entire post-stroke patients who visited the nerve polyclinic at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang totaled 134 people. The number of samples 45 people taken with accidental sampling techniques. the data analyzed in Univariate and bivariate use test chi-square with a confidence level of 95% with a value of α = 0.05. The results showed more than half 75.6% (34) in post-stroke patients have good family support, more than half  73.3% (33) of the patient's post-stroke has a negative attitude. The results of statistical tests obtained P value (≥ 0.05) mean no relation of family support with independence post-stroke patients in performing the activity of daily living and the P value (< 0.05) means that there is a relation of attitude with independence post-stroke patients in performing the activity of daily living in nerve polyclinic at  RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang It can be concluded that patients in post-stroke that have good family support and negative attitude at minimum need some help in performing ADL. It is therefore expected to nurse or a health team to provide encouragement and explanation of the importance of doing an exercise routine to achieve independence of the ADL.

Background: Stroke is the third cause of disability that can affect the Activity of Daily Living (ADL). Ischemicstroke had higher incidence compared to hemorrhagic strokes. Rehabilitation in the form of physiotherapy canreduce the level of ADL dependencies, that is be measured by Barthel Index Score. Stroke severity, weaknessside, and physiotherapy onset can be factors that influence the success of physiotherapy to reducing the levelof ADL dependencies. Methods:A descriptive analytic study with a cross-sectional design in ischemic stroke patients using secondarydata from the Stroke Registry and medical records at Atma Jaya Hospital for the period of January 2016 toDecember 2017. The data were analyzed using Chi-Square.Results: Study on 110 subjects, consisted of 62 men(56.4%), aged divided by under of 58 years, and above of 58years were 52(47.3%) and 58 (52.7%). While subjects divided by stroke severity, i.e. minor, moderate, moderateto severe, and severe; 44 (40%), 58 (52.7%), 5 (4.5%), and 3 (2.7%) respectively. There were 77 participants(70%) had right side weakness and 33 participants (30%) were left side weakness. The changes of Barthel Indexof ADL score, were 73 (66.4%) improvement, 6 (5.5%) deterioration, and 31 (28.2%) remained. The study hasshown relationship between severity of stroke (p=0.008), weakness side (p=0.000), and physiotherapy onset(p=0.039) with the changes of Barthel Indexscore after treatment. Conclusion: There was a relationship between stroke severity, the weakness side of stroke, and physiotherapyonset with the better result of Barthel Index of ADL score after the physiotherapy. Keywords: Activity of Daily Living (ADL), Barthel Index, ischemic stroke, physiotherapy onset, stroke severity,Weakness side

Background: Stroke patients often suffer from depression, a mental disorder that worsens their condition and slows down the recovery process. Depression is the leading cause of functional disability due to inability to cope with daily stressors and to function independently in their activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between depression and functional disability levels in post-stroke patients. Design and Methods: This is an analytic observational research with a cross-sectional approach. The population in exam consisted of all 4-12 week post-stroke patient in the hospital (about 139 patients). The study focused on 104 respondents, who were selected using simple random sampling techniques. Results: The results show that 62.5% stroke patients suffered mild depressive episodes after the stroke while 58.7% experienced mild disabilities. Analysis results using the Pearson Product Moment Test obtained P=0,000. This shows there is a relationship between the level of depression and the degree of functional disability in post-stroke patients. Conclusions: It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the levels of post-stroke depression and the functional disability. Families are expected to provide a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment to lessen the level of depression.

Post-stroke conditions can be stressful and unpredictable. Knowledge, motivation, and self-efficacy are essential to the long-term care of post-stroke patients. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between the level of knowledge, motivation, and self-efficacy of post-stroke patients in Lumajang. This study used a cross-sectional design. The population of this study was post-stroke patients in Lumajang. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling with the number of samples obtained, namely 55 samples. The variables of this study were the level of knowledge, motivation, and self-efficacy. The data collection was carried out by using a questionnaire. The data analysis was performed by using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed a correlation between knowledge and motivation with self-efficacy in post-stroke patients, with p-values of 0.004 (r: 0.383) and 0.000 (r: 0.581). A person who had high knowledge and motivation would show positive results in managing his disease; for example, in the stroke concept, the patient will actively participate in the rehabilitation program, treatment program, and schedule visits to health care facilities.

Introduction: Weakness among stroke patients causes obstacles when fulfilling their activities in daily living (ADL). This condition also has an impact on the caregivers who provide daily care at home. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of independent ADL among the stroke patients on caregiver burden. Methods: The study used an analytical design through a cross-sectional approach. The variables included independent ADL and caregiver burden. A sample of 120 caregivers was taken from 2 community health centers in Surabaya through simple random sampling. The instruments used were Zarit Burden's Interview Schedule and the Katz Index of Independent for ADL. Regression ordinal was used to analyze the influence of independent ADL among stroke patients on caregiver burden. Results: The results showed that the caregiver who take care of stroke patients with severe functional impairment will feel burdened 3 times more than no burden. Post-stroke care at home through a rehabilitation program plays an important role in improving the condition of patients and their families at home, especially the caregivers. Conclusion: Nurses in a community health center through the family health care pathway provide comprehensive bio-psycho-socio-spiritual care in the rehabilitation period as expected. They are expected to improve and maintain the fulfillment of human needs comprehensively for stroke patients and their caregivers, so the quality of life of stroke patients, caregivers and their families remains optimal.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the relationship between cognitive function and activities of daily living (ADL) in addition to the mediating effect exerted by depression on this relationship in post-stroke patients. Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed. A total of 182 patients were recruited from two general and three geriatric hospitals in South Korea between July 2017 and June 2018. Cognitive function, depression, and ADL measures were assessed after informed consent was obtained. Data obtained were analyzed using multiple regression and a simple mediation model that applies the PROCESS macro with a 95% bias-corrected bootstrap confidence interval (5,000 bootstrap resampling). Results: The covariates were sex, age, educational level, types of paralysis, and type of hospital. After controlling for the demographic covariates, cognitive function significantly accounted for the variance of ADL. It was also demonstrated that depression partially mediated the relationship between cognitive function and ADL in post-stroke patients. Conclusion: Cognitive function directly influences the ADL in post-stroke patients and indirectly influences it through depression. This suggests that strategies for improving depression in post-stroke patients should be considered while managing cognitive functioning for improving the ADL.

Role of family is behavior which is expected by family relate to status or domicile individual in family. While eating pattern or food pattern is the way of someone or a group of people exploit to eat available as reaction of economic pressure and social-culture happened.  Food pattern has relation with food habit. Food pattern can change that is suitable with growth of industrialization and economics. This Research design used analytic method with approach of Cross Sectional. Method of Sampling was used by Simple Random Sampling. The Independent variable was role of family and dependent variable was food pattern. Research of data was taken by using questioner. After data of questioner gathered tabulation later; then and in test by using test of Spearman Rank with the level of meaning α = 0, 05. Result of research of responder that is most role of good family counted 20 respondents (61%), and most of food pattern for baby aged 5 years was good counted 22 respondents (67%). From result of statistical analysis with test of Spearman Rank u in getting value ρ =0,014 < α =0, 05. Role of family that influenced on food pattern for baby aged 5 years. If  role of family is good, food pattern will be looked better, on the contrary if  role of family, less food  pattern will be bad so that frequency, quality , quantities is not maximal.

One of the psychological problems experienced by stroke patients is self-efficacy. Stroke patients on average lack confidence in themselves to do exercises or activities that will have an impact on the recovery process of stroke patients. Several factors that vary related to low self-efficacy in stroke patients are one of the causes. The scoping review aims to identify factors related to self-efficacy in a post-stroke patient. The methods use a systematic review through review articles relevant to the topic from CINAHL database, MEDLINE, Academic search ultimate, science direct, and Taylor & Francis with a publication year spanning 2015 to 2020 and with the keyword “self-efficacy” and “stroke” then analyzed using a synthesis matrix. The inclusion criteria in this study were articles in English with longitudinal study design or cross-sectional study and self-efficacy as the dependent variable. The results of a review of four journals that met the inclusion criteria found factors related to self-efficacy in a post-stroke patient including depression, age, vascular history, fear, physical activity, Body Mass Index (BMI) and emotional function. The study concludes that depression, age, vascular history, fear, physical activity, Body Mass Index (BMI) and emotional function are factors related to self-efficacy in post-stroke patients. The factor most strongly associated with post-stroke patients self-efficacy is depression.
