This paper aims to compare the risk-based capital (RBC) of Islamic insurance companies in Indonesia and Malaysia and analyze its financial ratios. This study used quantitative approach through two analysis techniques, the Mann-Whitney test and multiple linear regression. The results of this study showed that there is difference in risk between capital (RBC) of Indonesian and Malaysian Islamic insurance. Further, RBC, liquidity and investment balance ratios have a significant impact to the profitability of Islamic Insurance in Indonesia, while investment returns have no significant impact. In the other hand, RBC, liquidity, investment balance ratio, and investment returns have significant impact to the profitability of Islamic Insurace in Malaysia.

Abstract Purpose: This study aims to identify whether there is an effect between premiums, investment returns, and risk-based capital on profits in sharia insurance entities in Indonesia in 2019. Research Methodology: The research method applied was quantitative. The affordable population in this study was 45 sharia insurance entities registered with OJK 2019. The sample used was 40 entities by applying the simple random sampling technique. The data analysis technique applied is a multiple linear regression test assisted by IBM SPSS Statistics 26. Results: By using the multiple linear regression analysis methods, the results of this study are that the premium has a positive and significant effect on profits, while investment returns and risk-based capital have Indonesia significant effect on profits. These results can contribute to sharia insurance companies developing the company’s premiums in increasing their profits. Limitations: The research objects used the 2019 period only. Therefore, it is appropriate for the next researcher to continue research with a larger range of research subjects and add other variables. Contribution: The results of this study can be useful for all insurance companies to create strategies in obtaining profits from several factors that have been studied.

ANALISIS VARIABEL YANG BERPENGARUH TERHADAP KINERJA PERUSAHAAN DI BURSA EFEK INDONESIAOleh : Suseno STIE SATRIA Purwokerto ABSTRACT The aims of the research are (1) to analyze influence of age, scale, financial leverage, and profitability to performance of firms at The Indonesian Stock Exchange. (2) to determine the most influential variable on the performance of the firms. Hypotheses proposed in this research were: (1) Age, Scales, Financial Leverage, Profitability influences the performance of firms, (2) Age influences the performance of firms, (3) Scales influences the performance of firms, (4) Financial Leverage influences the performance of firms, (5) Profitability influences the performance of firms. Instrument of analysis employed in the research was multiple linear regression with t test and F test. The results of analyses of t test showed that profitability did not influence the performance of the firms. It was indicated by the value of computed t which was smaller than the value of t table. Meanwhile, the t test of age, scale and financial leverage indicated that the value of computed t > t table. It means that these variables (scale and financial leverage) influenced the performance of the firms. The F test showed that the independent variables of age, scale, financial leverage and profitability as a whole significantly influenced the performance of the firms. It was indicated by the calculated F > the value of F table, the value the age computed t which was smaller than the value of -t table..Based on the research results that age and profitability do not influence the performance of the firms, it is suggested that investors should not pay any attention to those variables. On the other hand, they should pay attention to the variables of scale and financial leverage. It is recommended that for further research should include longer periode of the sample.

Insurance is a fund raising agency sourced from the receipt of insurance premiums from the public and distributed by claims. In addition to premium receipts, the company also puts its funds in the form of investments. This aims of this paper is to analyze the investment returns, premium income, and claims expense to profit using partial correlation, determination and multiple linear regression. The methods that use to collects the data for this final task are using observation and study documentation using quantitative analysis. Analytical technique is multiple linear regression using IBM SPSS 21 software. The used data in this paper is secondary data that obtained from the website of Otoritas Jasa Keuangan. From the results of the correlation coefficient test partially obtained investment returns and premium income has a significant relationship to profit, a positive value of 0.657 and 0.737 means the relationship is strong and unidirectional whereas, claims load has a significant relationship to profit, negative value of -0.786 means strong relationship And counterclockwise, simultaneously (together) shows that investment returns, premium income, claims expenses have significant relationship to profit, and a positive value of 0.881. The result of determination coefficient test shows that there is a significant influence of 77.6% and the remaining 22.4% influenced by other factors. The regression equation formed is Y = -2,682 +  +  – 2,369 + e.
