Cervical cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer-related death in women worldwide that is mostly preventable and treatable. Knowledge and awareness of cervical cancer screening programs allow the implementation of the prevention of cervical cancer. The community service program is aimed to increase the knowledge of adolescents about cervical cancer and its screening. It was a one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental study to measure the level of knowledge of 45 female students of Baabul Kamil Vocational High School, Jatinangor, Sumedang. The study was conducted in May–June 2018. The participants were asked 15 questions, which was an adaptation of previous questionnaires. The program was managed by a mini-lecture that focuses on cervical cancer risk factors and early detection. Furthermore, pretest and posttest were conducted to analyze the level of knowledge on the aforementioned aspects before and after the dissemination descriptively. The participants included in this study were mostly 16 years old (67%). The average recognition of cervical cancer and its early detection was not high. The knowledge of cervical cancer among students of Baabul Kamil Vocational High School was found to be moderate. There is a significant improvement in knowledge level after dissemination. The efficacy of dissemination among female students at Baabul Kamil Vocational High School was apparent in knowledge change. However, good cancer awareness, especially cervical cancer, needs to be established and integrated through effective cancer educational programs in the school curriculum. Key intervention strategies are required to raise cancer awareness in support of taking precautions and early detection measures. Breast cancer is the second largest that attacks women in Indonesia and the number one killer in the world. One of the early detection methods of breast cancer is breast selfexamination. Most women do not do self-examination due to their lack of knowledge of breast self-examination. The objective of this research is to investigate effect of the health education of breast self-examination as an early detection for cancer on the knowledge and attitude of female students of State Vocational High School 1 of Karanganyar. This research used the quantitative pre-experimental research method with the pretestposttest design. The samples of the research were taken by using the cluster sampling technique. They consisted of 31 respondents. The data of the research were analyzed by using Wilcoxon’s test and McNemar’s Test. The result of the test shows that the value of p for the variable of Knoweldge is 0.000 and that of p for the variable of attitude is 0.000, meaning that there is an effect of the health education of breast self-examination as an early detection for cancer on the knowledge and attitude of female students of State Vocational High School 1 of Karanganyar. Therefore, the following researchers in the same field are recommended to compare between the health education with lecturing and demonstration methods and the health education with lecturing and video methods two groups, namely: Control Group and Experimental Group.

Abstract In young women, menarche and mensis begin to occur accompanied by the disposal of a number of Fe (Djaeni, 2004). Menarche is the first menstruation of women that generally occurs around the age of 10-11 years. The output produced is an increase in adolescent knowledge about anemia and the benefits of Fe. The method of service used in the partner group was counseling to young women at BK 06 Vocational High School class X which amounted to 35 female students, who had previously conducted a pre-test and post-test to determine adolescent knowledge about anemia and the benefits of Fe. Community service conducted at BK 06 Juwangi High School was carried out by involving 35 X grade students. At the beginning of the activity the extension team introduced activities followed by giving a questionnaire to determine the level of knowledge of young female students about anemia and the benefits of Fe. Of the 35 adolescents all have experienced menstruation. The results of the pre-test and post-test analysis were carried out, it was seen that the level of knowledge of the counseling participants before and after the provision of information experienced an increase in knowledge. Before giving counseling to teenagers who knew about the benefits of Fe there were 10 female students, after being given counseling there were 30 female students. Providing information to adolescents in the form of counseling on Mentrasi, Anemia, and the Importance of Fe is very necessary for adolescents who experience anemia, because one of the effects of anemia is affecting student achievement.

Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality globally and in Sub-Saharan Africa in particular. There is evidence that early detection and early management of cases are the best strategies to prevent and control this health threat, since treatment of the later stages of the diseases are very expensive. The objectives of the review were: (1) to identify and review studies on the prevalence of cervical cancer and determinants of early detection in Sub-Saharan Africa, and (2) to recommend further studies and interventions based on the findings of this review. Extensive literature search was conducted using the MeSH terms. Articles on cervical cancer and/or determinants of early detection which fulfilled inclusion criteria were reviewed independently by three reviewers. The prevalence of cervical cancer in Sub-Saharan Africa is increasing. Although there are evidences that cervical cancer screening programs are practical and feasible even in resource-limited settings in Sub-Saharan Africa, there is a very low uptake of cervical cancer screening and there are key factors that need to be addressed in order to make these programs established and effective.

Introduction: Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer in women in the world and the second most common cancer among Indian women. About 23% of the global cervical cancer burden is beard by India alone. The screening of cervical cancer is commonly done by a pap smear, visual inspection of acetic acid, human papillomavirus DNA testing etc. These identify precancerous changes which when treated can prevent the development of cancer. The objectives of the study were to screen the patient at Gynecology OPD by visual Inspection with acetic acid (VIA) and Pap smear for early detection of cervical cancer and to evaluate the efficacy of visual inspection with acetic acid and Pap smear in the early detection of cervical cancer. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 60 women attending Gynecology O.P.D of a Tertiary Level Hospital, Gwalior (India) by non-probability purposive sampling technique between 1st August to 30th August 2017. Pap smear was taken from each woman followed by VIA. Women with positive VIA and/or positive Pap smear were referred for colposcopy-directed cervical biopsy. Results: After the application of 3% VIA among 60 women, 16 (26.67%) developed acetowhite while 44 (73.33%) didn’t. While the result of Pap smear shows, 22 (36.66%) had an inflammatory smear, 6(10%) shows benign smear, 9(15%) bacterial vaginosis, 1(1.66%) squamous metaplastic cells, 12 (20%) shows adenocarcinoma and 10(16.66%) normal pap smear.  Conclusion: The study concludes that VIA and pap smear were effective methods for the early detection of cervical cancer. Visual inspection of the cervix after acetic acid application (VIA) is widely recommended as the method of choice in cervical cancer screening programs in resource-limited settings and developing countries because of its simplicity, cost-effectiveness and ability to link with immediate treatment.
