Abstrac The purpose of this research was to know the difference between the use of cooperative learning methods consisting of the think talk write (TTW) method and the think pair share method (TPS) on mathematical communication ability in algebraic forms operating materials. The method used in this research was a quantitative research method using a comparative study approach. The sampling technique used in this study was Cluster Random Sampling. The population of this study consisted of all VII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Ngabang in the 2019/2020 school year. The research sample was experimental class I namely class VII A using the TTW method and experimental class II namely class VII B using the TPR method. Data was collected using test and documentation. The data analysis technique used was the t-test. The results of this research showed  that the   of 2.049 was greater than the   of 1.995 at the significance level α = 0.05. This means that there were significant differences in the results of students' mathematical communication ability in the aspects of knowledge between the experimental class I compared to the experimental class II. This showed that the experimental class I who followed the learning by applying the Think Talk Write method has a different mathematical communication ability than the experimental class II who followed the learning by applying the Think Pair Share method.

The purpose of this research was to know there was any difference in student’s mathematical communication ability in cooperative learning Think TalkWrite (TTW) type and Numbered Head Together (NHT) type. The population was all students at SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam. The sample was two classes which each consist of 36 students, VII A as experimental class I which taught by TTW and VII B as experimental class II which taught by NHT. The sample was taken by cluster random sampling. Collecting data technique of this research was mathematical comunication ability essay test that was given in the end of learning either in experimental class I or experimental class II. From the data analysis of each of experimental class were obtained that the average of posttest score in TTW classroom was higher than in NHT classroom. It was also obtained that score of mathematical communication indicators in TTW classroom was higher than in NHT classroom. From the data analysis of posttest score by using t-test with significance level α = 0.05, it was obtained that tcount = 4.687 and ttable = 1.667. It means that tcount > ttable then H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. So, it can be concluded that there was difference of student’s mathematical communication ability who taught by cooperative learning model type TTW with NHT at SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam.

ABSTRAK Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan pendekatan openended berbantuan wingeom dengan siswa yang diajar menggunakan pendekatan differentiated instruction berbantuan wingeom di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Morawa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VIII  yang berjumlah 9 kelas kemudian dilakukan pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 2 kelas yaitu kelas VIII-1 dan VIII-2 yang masing-masing berjumlah 36 siswa. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pretest dan posttest yang berbentuk uraian soal. Pretest digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan awal siswa. Sedangkan posttest digunakan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa setelah diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda. Pengujian hipotesis yang digunakan adalah uji t 2 pihak dengan dk = 70 dan  = 0,05, maka diperoleh thitung = 2,407 dan ttabel = 1,994 sehingga thitung> ttabel yaitu 2,407 > 1,994  maka Ha diterima, dengan demikian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan pembelajaran Open Ended berbantuan wingeom dengan pendekatan pembelajaran Differentiated Instruction berbantuan wingeom.Kata Kunci : Open Ended, Differentiated Instruction, Komunikasi Matematis, Wingeom ABSTRACT The type of this research is quasi-experiment. This study aims to determine the differences in the ability of mathematical communication between students taught using the open ended approach wingeom assisted with students taught using a differentiated instruction approach wingeom assisted at grade VIII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Morawa. Population in this research is all class VIII  which amounts to 9 class then do sampling by using random sampling technique. Samples taken as many as 2 classes of classes VIII-1 and VIII-2, each of which amounted to 36 students. The instrument of data collection used is pretest and posttest which in the form of problem description. Pretest is used to determine students’ early skills. While posttest is used to know the  difference of students’ mathematical communication ability after given different treatment. The data analysis of experimental class by using t-test two tail with dk = 70 and significance level  = 0.05, it was obtained that tcalculation= 2,407 and ttable = 1,994so tcalculation>ttable then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The result showed that there is different in student’s mathematical communications skill with by using Open Ended scientific approach aided Wingeom and Differentiated Instruction scientific approach aided Wingeom.Keyword      : Open Ended, Differentiated Instruction, Mathematical Communications, Wingeom

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine whether the mathematical communication skills of students who learn by using cooperative learning model Think Talk Write type is higher than the mathematical communication ability of students who learn by using cooperative learning model Think Pair Share type. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The population of this research is all students of class VII of SMP Negeri 3 Percut Sei Tuan. Research sampling was done by cluster sampling and many samples in this research consist of 2 classes, first class is called experimental class I and second class is called experiment class II. The instrument used in this research is a test of mathematical communication ability consisting of 4 items of description. From result of data processing obtained on result of posttest mean score of mathematical communication ability of student 13,4722 for experiment class I and 12,0556 for experiment class II. Based on hypothesis testing that is done by using t test with obtained. This shows that being out of acceptance then based on the test obtained that rejected so it can be stated that the mathematical communication skills of students who learn by using cooperative learning model Think Talk Write type higher than the mathematical communication skills of students who learn by using cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share at SMP Negeri 3 Percut Sei Tuan. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write (TTW) dan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Medan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Medan semester II  yang terdiri dari 10 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan teknik sampling acak dan kemudian terpilih kelas VIII-C sebagai Kelas Think Talk Write (TTW) (kelas eksperimen I) dengan 40 siswa dan kelas VIII-E sebagai kelas Think Pair Share (TPS) (kelas eksperimen II) dengan 40 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua buah instrumen yaitu pretest dan posttest dalam bentuk uraian. Instrumen tes tersebut divalidasi oleh tiga orang validator kompeten yang berasal dari dua validator merupakan dosen dan seorang guru matematika dan telah dinyatakan valid. Dari penelitian, data berdistribusi normal dengan uji Liliefors dan data dikatakan homogen dengan uji F. Analisis data menggunakan uji t dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata posttest kelas TTW adalah 80,31 dan rata-rata posttest kelas TPS adalah 76,15. Dari hasil uji hipotesis posttest diperoleh t > t ( 1,9522 > 1,667). Karena t > t maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima.  Hal itu berarti kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write (TTW) lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share  (TPS).Kata Kunci : Komunikasi Matematis, Think Talk Write, Think Pair Share ABSTRACTThis research is a quasi-experimental research which aims to know the comparison of student mathematical communication ability which is taught by the type cooperative learning models Think Talk Write (TTW) and type cooperative learning models Think Pair Share (TPS) in class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Medan. The results showed the average of posttest grade of TTW is 80,31 and the average of posttest grade of TPS is 76,15. From the results of posttest hypothesis test obtained t > t ( 1,9522 > 1,667). Because t > t  then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Abstract Purpose The objective of this study was to investigate how daily wear time (DWT) influences class II malocclusion treatment efficiency. Materials and methods The study group consisted of 55 patients (mean age 10.4 years) diagnosed with a class II/1 malocclusion. Twin block appliances, with built-in Theramon® microsensors (MC Technology, Hargelsberg, Austria) to monitor patients’ cooperation (daily wear time assessment), were used for treatment. Cephalograms were taken and the following initial and final measurements were compared: Co-Gn, Co-Go, Co-Olp, Pg-Olp, WITS, SNA, SNB, ANB, Co-Go-Me, overjet, molar and canine relationships. The Shapiro–Wilk test, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, Student’s t-test, Levene’s test, Mann–Whitney U test, Kruskal–Wallis test, χ2 test, and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient with p < 0.05 set as the statistical significance level were used to determine the correlation of the outcomes with DWT; a ROC (receiver operating characteristic) curve was calculated to illustrate diagnostic ability of the binary classifier system. Results DWT was very highly positively correlated with change of the Pg-Olp parameter and highly with an improvement in the ANB, SNA, and SNB angles, an increase in the WITS parameter and an increase in Co-Gn distance. DWTs < 7.5 h correlated with significantly less improvement of the investigated variables. However, DWT > 7.5 h did not significantly correlate with the improvement of the overjet and most of the linear parameters in the mandible. The ROC curve and its AUC (area under curve) allowed the determination of a DWT of 7 h and 48 min to be capable of establishing a class I relationship with 83% probability. Conclusions Class II treatment efficiency was influenced by DWT; an 8 h threshold value had an 83% probability of establishing a class I relationship.

This research aims to examine secondary and higher secondary students' perceptions about career options related to Art & Design studies. A comparative study approach is conducted between the secondary and higher secondary students who opted for Art & Design and the prospective students of Art & Design. Each data set includes 200 respondents from both types of students, making a data set of 400 respondents. Based on constructionism and symbolic, philosophical assumptions, quantitative research methodology has been induced to complete this research. The data is gathered through structured telephonic interviews to analyze the responses. For this research, a checklist was designed that included the same type of questions from both types of students. The results show that the students, specifically in the context of Pakistan, look forward to being employed in a lavish environment through seeking professional degrees apart from whether the field they are choosing would win their interest. This study recommends researching the institutes where Art & design is not a part of the educational programs to transmit the attention of authorities towards it.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan pendekatan Problem-Based Learning (PBL) dan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) ditinjau  dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa dan manakah yang lebih efektif diantara keduanya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Margasari Kabupaten Tegal. Sampel penelitian kelas VIII-A dan VIII-H. Untuk menguji keefektifan pendekatan pembelajaran data dianalisis dengan uji one sample    t- test pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Untuk mengetahui perbedaan keefektifan pembelajaran data diukur dengan  uji Hotelling’s Trace pada taraf signifikansi 5% dan selanjutnya digunakan uji independent sample t-testuntuk mengetahui pembelajaran mana yang lebih efektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pendekatan PBL dan CTL efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa dan pendekatan PBL lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pendekatan CTL ditinjau dari motivasi belajar siswa, namun tidak lebih efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis.Kata Kunci:  pendekatan Problem-Based Learning, pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning,   kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dan motivasi belajar siswa. The Effectiveness of PBL Approach and CTL Viewed from Mathematical Communication and Learning Motivation of Students Junior High School  AbstractThis study aims to examine  the effectiveness of Problem Based-Learning (PBL) and Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) viewed from students’ mathematical communication ability and learning motivation and which more effective instruction between PBL approach and CTL approach. This study was quasi experiment research. The population covered all grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Margasari in Tegal Regency.  The sample of class VIII-A and VIII-H. To test the effectiveness of the PBL and CTL approaches, the data were analyzed using the one-sample t-test at the significance level of 5%. To determine differences in the effectiveness of mathematics teaching data were analyzed using Hotteling Trace at the significance level of 5% and followed by independent sample t- test to determine which approach was more effective. The results of this study show that: the PBL approach and CTL is effective to increase students’ communication ability and learning motivation and the PB L approach is more effective than the CTL approach viewed from students’ learning motivation but not more effective viewed from mathematical communication ability .Keywords: Problem-Based Learning approach, Contextual Teaching and Learning approach, mathematical communication ability, student’s learning motivation.

This study aims to (1) analyze Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share on mathematics learning achievement, (2) analyze the level of students 'reasoning towards mathematics learning achievement, and (3) determine the interaction of Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share and the level of students' reasoning on mathematics learning achievement. This type of research uses quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. All grade VIII students of State Junior High School 1 Sambi were the population of this study. The sample in this study consisted of two classes, 31 experimental  and 32 control students, with a sampling technique using cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques using documentation, tests, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the ANOVA technique. Two ways with different cells. The results of the study with a significance level of 5% are (1) there is a good effect using Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share on students 'mathematics learning achievement, (2) there is a good effect of reasoning on students' mathematics learning achievement, and (3) there is no interaction between Discovery Learning. Think Pair Share setting and students' reasoning. Therefore, it is concluded that mathematics learning achievement can be influenced by Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share and reasoning. Keywords: Discovery learning setting think pair share; mathematics learning outcomes; reasoning. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, (2) menganalisis tingkat penalaran siswa terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, dan (3) mengetahui interaksi Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan tingkat penalaran siswa terhadap prestasi belajar matematika. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment. Seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sambi menjadi populasi penelitian ini. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas dengan 31 siswa eksperimen dan 32 siswa kontrol, dan pengambilan teknik sampling menggunakan cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi, tes dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik ANAVA dua jalan dengan sel tak sama. Hasil penelitian dengan tingkat signifikansi 5% adalah (1) ada pengaruh baik menggunakan Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, (2) ada pengaruh baik penalaran terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, dan (3) tidak ada interaksi antara Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan penalaran siswa. Oleh karena itu, disimpulkan bahwa prestasi belajar matematika dapat dipengaruhi oleh Discovery Learning Setting Think Pair Share dan penalaran. Kata Kunci: Discovery learning setting think pair share; penalaran; prestasi belajar matematika.

The purposive of this study are (1) the average mathematical communication abilities of students who have learned by applying the ethnomatemics-based Realistic Mathematics Education approach, (2) the mastery of learning mathematical communication abilities of students who are taught with the Mathematics-Based Realistic Mathematics approach. This type of research is quantitative with true experimental design research design using the form of Posttest Only Control. The sample uses a simple random sampling technique and is carried out in class V SD 5 Jepang as an experimental class and class V SD 1 Gulang as a control class. Data collection techniques are tests of students' mathematical communication abilities. Data analysis techniques in this study include normality test, homogeneity test, average difference test and learning completeness test. The results showed that (1) the average mathematical communication ability of the experimental class students was higher than the average mathematical communication ability of control class students with expository learning; (2) students' mathematical communication abilities with ethnomatemicsbased Realistic Mathematics Education approach achieve mastery learning.

This study aims to determine the differences between NHT) and STAD learning outcomes of clas VII Biology MTs Madinatussalam. The sample of this research is class VII-1 with 32 student as NHT class and 32 student in VII-2 as STAD class. The instrument used in this study was a multiple choice test concisting of 20 questions. The results of analysis showed that the average post-test score for the experimental class I NHT was 82 very high category. Meanwhile, the experimental class II STAD the average post-test score was 67,2 high category. The hypothesis test of the difference in learning outcomes of students in expremental class I NHT and expremental class II STAD, obtained tcount = 6,036>ttable = 1.999, then Ho is rejected and Ha is acepted. This shows that there is a difference in the biology lerning out comes of student who are thought using NHT learning method and those taught using the STAD learning method.
