Vocabulary instruction in elementary students differs from other level of education. It aims to empower them understand English vocabulary related to their surroundings.This study focuses on the implication of vocabulary instruction in elementary students through pictures. The use of pictures initiate and activate students curiosity on topic. This study focuses on the use of pictures in learning vocabulary to elementary students. The data collection technique was in the form of observation and field note in one of state Elementary School (SDN) in Surabaya. The study found that picture game is useful to empower students in learning English vocabulary. In addition, students are able not only to write the words correctly, but also to construct simple sentence. This study provides suggestionto integrate picturesin learning vocabulary.Keywords: Vocabulary, Instruction, Elementary Students

This study aims to explore the ethnomatematics contained in Batik Paoman Indramayu and apply it to the learning of geometry field in elementary school. This research is a qualitative research with ethnography approach, where the data collection technique is done by library study, observation, interview, field note, and documentation. Interviews were conducted on two batik entrepreneurs and an embroidered entrepreneur. Based on the results of research data collection obtained 7 namely Parang Teja, Obar Abir, Biskuit Sawat, Serujing, Matahari, Siled and Banji Tepak. The concept of elementary geometry in the primary school that is on the paoman batik motif is the concept of point, straight line, curve line, zigzag line, line height, parallel line, angle, triangle, rectangle, fold symmetry, rhombus.Paoman batik motif that has the concept of geometry for elementary school, of course can be used in the pursuit of geometry fields such as on line recognition, angle recognition, and simple flat wake recognition.

Thematic learning in elementary school has obstacles in its implementation, one of which is related to the media. The results of the observation show that students need pictorial media. The purpose of this research is to develop learning media in the form of pictorial modules to support learning. The researchers used research development or Research and Development (R&D), according to Borg and Gall. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. Based on the results of material expert validation, it was 89%, linguist validation was 88%, and media expert validation was 84%. The results of the student readability questionnaire were 88%, and the teacher's readability questionnaire was 92%. The conclusion is the thematic module of the development of transportation technology for elementary students was developed suitable for use in learning.

This study aims to develop big book media for learning Indonesian in grade 3 elementary school and to determine the feasibility of big book learning media. This research uses research and development (R&D) methods using the FOUR-D (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminte) model. The data collection technique used is by using questionnaires and trials. The feasibility of big book learning media is obtained from the results of media validation and testing. Validation was carried out by material experts and learning media experts. The results of the research show that the validation of the material experts and the validation of the learning media experts are very valid. The trials used in this study were limited to 10 students and received a very good response. The results of this development research indicate that the big book media for learning Indonesian in grade 3 Elementary School is very suitable for use in learning in Elementary School.

<p><em>Schools are one of vulnerable public places in case of disaster phenomenon. On the other side, school is a place where the children spend most of their time. It is possible that volcanic eruption occur while children study at school. Selo is one of the sub district of Boyolali district  that located on the north side of Mount Merapi, its location is quite close to the peak of Mount Merapi, it is makes Selo is prone to be affected by Mount Merapi eruption. The aim of this research was to determine the level of student preparedness toward Mount Merapi eruption in SD Negeri Lencoh. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. The population in this research were elementary students in the high grade with consideration that student in the high grade were better in understanding to fill out the questionnaire. The sampling technique was purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique was using questionnaire developed by LIPI. The result of this research  was the value of student preparedness level in SD Negeri Lencoh  which was 52.1 so it was conlude as less ready. </em></p>

Clean living behavior has effect on the student’s learning achievement. This study aims to determine the effect of clean living behavior on the improvement of students’ learning achievement in Tomer Elementary School Naukenjerai District on Academic Year of 2017/2018. The type of this research is a correlational research. The method used is survey research, with data collection technique using questionnaire and documentation analysis. The population of this study is the students of class I to class VI, which consists of 50 students, taken using random sampling technique. The findings of this study indicate that there is a significant effect between clean living behavior on the improvement of students’ learning achievement in Tomer Elementary School Naukenjerai District on Academic Year of 2017/2018. From the total of 50 students, there are only 5 students (10%) who have clean living behavior (low category), while the rest of 45 students (90%) have not implemented a clean living behavior (high category). This study aims to find out the results of the analysis of item bias by using Generalized Lord's Chi-square test method on the test instrument of elementary school examination in a sub-district of Gowa Regency, Indonesia. This research is explorative research using quantitative approach. This research was conducted in the second semester of the academic year of 2017/2018 at the Bontomarannu District Elementary School in Gowa Regency. Data collection technique used is documentation. The data in this study were analyzed using the DIF method of Generalized Lord Chi-Square test. The results show that in using the Generalized Lord Chi-square method, from 20 items of mathematics test of school exam in Bontomarannu District Elementary School in Gowa Regency of the academic year 2017/2018, there are two items which are detected containing the bias (DIF), i.e., item 5 and item 11, while the rest are not.

Local culture is the identity of an area where in this era its features are increasingly eroded by foreign cultures. It happened because of the ease with which foreign cultures enter and blend in with local cultures which can directly affect the cultural structure of the nation. Likewise with folklore as if forgotten. Folklore is one of the national cultural heritages which is a national honor with a diverse culture that must be introduced to students since elementary school. This study aimed to identify the children's stories based on local culture and implement literacy culture at SD Kartika XX-I Makassar. The approach used in this research was descriptive qualitative with survey method while the data collection techniques used were observation, documentation, interviews and questionnaires. Based on the data obtained, the researchers identified twelve children's story titles which were then carried out by literacy to elementary students of Kartika XX-I Makassar. The application of literacy culture in SD Kartika XX-1 Makassar by 1) distributing story books to students 2) reading about 15-20 minutes, 3) students identifying moral values ​​contained in the story, 4) strengthening the moral values ​​of the story children and the application of local culture in accordance with national values.

The aim of this researchs to know the factors that influence number of visitors in Srambang Park tourist attraction. The factors include gender, age of visitors, level of education, family dependents, occupation, income, service, security, cleanliness, facilities, distance. Purposive sampling data collection technique, respondents in this study visitors to the Srambang Park tour with a total of 35 respondents. The data obtained in the field were analyzed using SPSS correlation analysis. The results of the analysis show that the factors that affect the number of visitors are categorized into a) very low (0.00-0.199); gender, occupation, income, service, b) quite strong (0.40-0.599); visitor age, education level, security, c) strong (0.60-0.799); facilities, distance. The management of the Srambang Park area pays attention to environmental sustainability, through planting, conservation of springs and waste management. The existence of Srambang Park tourism object is able to improve the socio-economy of the surrounding community through direct involvement as Srambang Park employees, becoming a motorcycle taxi driver to tourist sites and selling in the Srambang Park area.

The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of students&rsquo; science learning in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) at one elementary school in Taiwan. This study investigated student perceptions of both the content and language achievement of science learning in CLIL. Data collection techniques included graphic organizers, individual interviews, students&rsquo; self-assessment, and students&rsquo; tests. Findings showed that CLIL helped enrich student vocabulary size, foster student science knowledge, and lead them to expect to learn other subjects in English. They also enjoyed the CLIL approach, but expressed limited knowledge about the school flower.

<em>The research is based on an analysis of the problems of elementary school children and efforts to develop planning and counseling programs. This type of quantitative research with survey sampling techniques. The research location was in the elementary school in Klirong sub-district, Kebumen. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The results showed that there were several types of problems of elementary school children so that there was a need for planning counseling and programs to help elementary students optimal development.</em>
