The present paper throws light upon the workingenvironment of the migrant labourers in the state of Kerala. It focusses on the unskilled labourers who work in the unhealthy working conditions of the industrial sector. In spite of their vital role in the economic growth of the state, they are made to work for more than the stipulated time, not even paid for the overtime work. These unskilled labourers and their families face health issues due to the hazardous work and improper medical care. It is a fact that they are employed as temporary workers with neither proper wages nor any other benefits. They are not even added in any of the official records of the city. Even though they face difficulty in the work place, they prefer to stay in the state itself, because of work opportunities. Hence there is a dire need to preserve the interests of these unskilled migrant labourers to protect the social and economic wellbeing of the state as a whole.

The BID (Board of Industrial Development) framed the legislation and it was introduced before the state legislation and passed in the form of Maharashtra Industrial Act which gave birth to Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), as a separate corporation on August 1, 1962. The BID was the first personnel strength of MIDC. A small ceremony at Wagle Estate Thane, under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister Shri Y.B. Chavan, marked the birth of MIDC on August 1, 1962. The Board of Industrial Development during its existence between October 1, 1960 and August 1, 1962 has done enough spade work to identify the locations for setting up industrial areas in different parts of the state. Thus, right in the first year of establishment MIDC came up with 14 industrial areas, to initiate action for infrastructure and help entrepreneurs set up the industrial units in those areas. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation is the nodal industrial infrastructure development agency of the Maharashtra Government with the basic objective of setting up industrial areas with a provision of industrial infrastructure all over the state for planned and systematic industrial development. MIDC is an innovative, professionally managed, and user friendly organization that provides the world industrial infrastructure. MIDC has played a vital role in the development of industrial infrastructure in the state of Maharashtra. As the state steps into the next millennium, MIDC lives up to its motto Udyamat Sakal Samruddhi i.e., prosperity to all through industrialization. Indeed, in the endeavor of the state to retain its prime position in the industrial sector, MIDC has played a pivotal role in the last 35 years. MIDC has developed 268 industrial estates across the state which spread over 52653 hectares of land. The growth of the Corporation, achieved in the various fields, during the last three years, could be gauged from the fact that the area currently in possession of MIDC has doubled from 25,000 hectares in 1995.

Health is one of the basic human needs. The Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) recognises health as central to the dignity of the person. Health is one of the indicators of development of a society. Hence, it is also included in the Millennium Development Goals. In developing countries like India, one can see large disparities in availability and access to health facilities. In India, health is the responsibility of the state and it is included in the Directive Principles. Attainment and maintenance of good health depends on access to nutritious food, clean water, appropriate and timely availability of medical services for treatment during sickness. From this point of view, providing good health services to people becomes responsibility of the state government. In India, three types of health services are available namely- hospitals run by government, hospitals run by municipal corporations and hospitals governed by public trusts and private organizations. Health workers play a vital role in taking these services to the patients. Hence, their physical and mental status matters in reaching the health services to patients. From this angle, the researcher has chosen the appropriate topic for the study. The book highlights equity issues in health services. Subordination of nurses and its ill-effects on patients are discussed keeping gender discrimination at the centre. The researcher has focused on many issues related to nursing profession. They include working conditions of nurses, their salary, shift duties and stress levels, safety at work place and violence, grievance redressal mechanism, affiliation to unions, etc. For this, the researcher has collected primary data by interviewing nurses from various sectors, which is the strength of this research. The sample of the research includes nurses employed in various health care institutions located in ward H-East and West of Mumbai district, Maharashtra.

To investigate the state of industrial injuries (including fatalities) in Ukraine in general and in the agro-industrial complex for the period from 2011 to 2017, and to identify ways to increase the level of occupational safety.Investigation of the condition of occupational injuries in the conditions of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine was carried out using the probabilistic-statistical method of analysis. In the study, we used the statistical method of analysis of occupational injuries in Ukraine from 2011 till – 2017, which is based on the study of injuries according to the report of the State Labor Service of Ukraine. For the first time the analysis of occupational injuries in Ukraine from 2011 till-2017was carried out according to the report of the State Labor Service of Ukraine. The ways of raising the level of labor protection in agriculture are proposed. On the basis of analysis of the data of the State Labor Service of Ukraine for the period of 2011-2017, it has been established that the state of occupational injuries is declining, both in Ukraine as a whole and in the agro-industrial complex. Despite the fact that the level of injuries in the aforementioned years decreased, it should be noted that the industry of the agro-industrial complex in the period 2011-2014 took the third place in Ukraine by the level of injury and the second place – by the level of injuries with fatalities, and in the period 2015-2017 – third and first place respectively. In 2011, in the agro-industrial sector, 10,0% of the total number of traumatized people was injured at enterprises of Ukraine, and 17.9% of the total number of deaths were injured, in 2012, respectively, 9,9 and 18,6 in 2013 – 9,9 and 16,4, in 2014 – 10,9 and 17,3, in 2015 – 14,1 and 22,4, in 2016 – 13,1 and 20,8, and in 2017 – 12,5 and 20,5%.An analysis of the state of occupational injuries in the areas of supervision was conducted. The obtained results may be used as to prevent and eliminate potential hazards. In order to improve the work of the service on labor protection, it is continuously necessary to analyze the state of occupational injuries in the areas of supervision. This will enable you to prevent and eliminate potential hazards. Therefore, in order to create safe and harmless working conditions, it is constantly necessary to improve the legal regulation of labor protection in agriculture, to update the rules, norms, standards, instructions, regulations in accordance with the development of NTP and modern technical support of the agro-industrial complex and apply the experience of the world. To reduce occupational injuries, it is necessary to develop and implement a sectoral system of labor protection management; to increase the efficiency of labor protection work at agricultural enterprises of all types of property; to provide employees with regulatory and labor protection laws, which take into account modern labor safety requirements; to intensify control over compliance with safety standards and working conditions in the workplace, paying particular attention to the technical aspects of occupational safety. The analysis of the condition of occupational injuries in the field of supervision provides an opportunity to assess the dynamics of occupational injuries (including fatalities), to anticipate, eliminate potential hazards in production and to propose perspective ways to increase the level of labor protection in Ukraine. Keywords: occupational safety, innovations, legal regulation, the raised danger, an industrial traumatism, the dynamics of fatal injuries, agro-industrial complex, sectoral regulations on labor protection.

In this article, the author analyzes the struggle for workers' health in Mexico, emphasizing the importance of the general and specific political context. In an overview of the legislation on industrial health and safety, the state institutions involved in the issue, and the characteristics of union organization in Mexico, the author shows that the limited activities related to workers' health have more to do with the relative political weakness of the Mexican working class than with the formal structures of legislation, state institutions, and unions. The second part of the article deals with the four most important struggles for health and safety in Mexico during the last ten years, which show some similarities. These struggles are consistently linked to processes of union democratization and tend to decline when union democracy is lost. The strategies of the companies show a common pattern: removing health issues from collective bargaining and putting them in the hands of state institutions. When workers have opposed this solution, management has used selective repression to solve the conflict. The state institutions subordinate their position to the companies' by postponing action or by doing a technically poor job. Changing the existing situation involves the social legitimation of the workers' health issue, since this would have an impact on the political processes involved, i.e., corporate control over workers, authoritarian labor relations and professionalism, and resources of the state institutions.

The formation of a health culture is an integral part of the social policy that is pursued in the country. At the same time, it should be noted that despite the considerable attention of the state and scientists to health issues, still this problem is not solved properly. An analysis of recent scientific studies has shown that there is a lot of the health status research of schoolchildren, students and of the first adult age women, but the somatic health of the 22-35 years men is hardly investigated by scientists. Purpose of the study: to analyze the somatic health of the 22-35 years capoeirists. Research methods: analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature; pedagogical observation; pedagogical experiment; assessment of somatic health by the method of G.L. Apanasenko; methods of mathematical statistics. Organization of research. The studies were conducted at the Capoeira school "RABO DE ARRAIA", Dnipro. The study involved 27 first adult age men who are engaged in capoeira training. Research results. According to the general estimation of the first adult age men`s somatic health level by the method of G.L. Apanasenko, 69.2% of that men had a low health levels. Only 15.4% of men have the somatic health indicators that are average. The positive impact of physical activity on improving the level of somatic health has been proven by scientists. Improving the men`s health by the physical education means opens up opportunities for managing of the capoeirists` health, and therefore there is a need to develop a fi tness program for the 22-35 years aged men, engaged in capoeira training. Further research prospects: Development of a capoeira`s classes fitness program for the 22-35 years old men, according to their physical condition`s level.

This paper explores the charitable work of Buddhist women who work as petty traders in Hồ Chí Minh City. By focusing on the social interaction between givers and recipients, it examines the traders’ class identity, their perception of social stratification, and their relationship with the state. Charitable work reveals the petty traders’ negotiations with the state and with other social groups to define their moral and social status in Vietnam’s society. These negotiations contribute to their self-identification as a moral social class and to their perception of trade as ethical labor.
