cayenne pepper plant (Capsicum frutescens L.) is one of the popular vegetables comodity in Indonesia. cayenne pepper plant used as main ingridients for kitchen’s need, sauce industry, chili powder, instant noodle, and pharmaceutical industry. The demand for cayenne pepper plant in Indonesia is considerably high, about 4kg/capita/year. Antrachnose diseease caused by Colletotrichum sp is on of the major problem in cayenne pepper plant cultivation. Colletotrichum sp is from Nectrioidaceae family that has plenty of aservulus beneath the cuticule or on the surface, the diameter is up to 10 nm, black colored and many setae. Several bacteria has antagonist feature either around the root, or endophytes with the roots. Bacillus sp has antagonist feature is consider to treat the Antrachnose disease. Bacillus sp is a marine bactreia that can produce antibiotic to fight pathogen. However, from this study there are two different antagonist activites between two isolate due to different chytinolytic activitiy between the two isolate.

Biofertilizers have been used in agroecological production with the aim of improving conditions for plant development. The objective of the research was to evaluate the effect of the application of biofertilizer on the initial development of chili peppers (Capsicum frutescens L.). The experiment was installed and conducted under field conditions from October to December 2018, in Chapadinha, city located in Maranhão. A completely randomized design was used, with 4 treatments and 5 repetitions. The experiment corresponded to the application of biofertilizer in concentrations T1: 0%, T2: 20%, T3: 40%, T4: 60% of goat biofertilizer diluted in water. The goat biofertilizer was made using 25 kg of fresh goat manure, 200 g of ash and 500 g of brazilian candy called rapadura. Seedlings with eight definitive leaves were transplanted 0.8 x 1 m apart. The first application of the biofertilizer was performed 15 days after transplanting and the following applications of the biofertilizer were carried out at 10-day intervals until data collection. At 60 days after transplantation, data for each variable were collected. It was observed that the variables responded well to the biofertilizer, revealing significant increases in the growth and development of the pepper plant. It is recommended 4 (four) applications of doses of goat biofertilizer with a concentration between 46% (460 ml L-1) to 48% (480 ml L-1) to obtain pepper seedlings with good phytotechnical quality, because in this range the best results were found for most of the analyzed variables.

Background: Currently, antibiotic-resistant pathogenic bacteria are emerging as an important health problem worldwide. The search for new compounds with antibiotic characteristics is the most promising alternative. Bacteriocins are natural compounds that are inhibitory against pathogens, and Bacillus species are the major producers of these compounds, which have shown antimicrobial activity against clinically important bacteria. These peptides not only have potential in the pharmaceutical industry but also in food and agricultural sectors. Objective: We provide an overview of the recent bacteriocins isolated from different species of Bacillus including their applications and the older bacteriocins. Results: In this review, we have revised some works about the improvements carried out in the production of bacteriocins. Conclusion: These applications make bacteriocins very promising compounds that need to study for industrial production.

Abstract The paper describes basic determinants of the medical plant cultivation in Polish agriculture. The author discussed economic background of the introduction of these plants indicating the role of pharmaceutical industry in herb usage. Then, there is a presentation of results of the survey study carried out among farmers from the Wielkopolska region. Approximately 10% of the farms cultivate medicinal plants but more than 50% declare some interest in this kind of production, what indicates a big potential. Farmers think that herbs are economically attractive crops if the sale is guaranteed and the price is satisfactory. The demand for medicinal plants is developing and expanding for e.g. dietary supplements and other health-promoting products. Therefore, it can be concluded that cultivation of medicinal plants is the prospective direction of agricultural production and an important element of additional income of Polish farmers.

The hood is an alternative to overcome the high intensity of sunlight. In this study the type of containment material treatment can be divided into 3 types of containment material, namely the type of plastic lid material, paranet and combination. For microclimate measurements, a temperature and humidity meter and a light meter are used. Microclimate measurements were carried out at 12.00 WITA, on cayenne pepper from 7 days to 35 HTS. Micro climate data analysis is done by interpolation to obtain the profile contour lines. The results of the study showed that there were different shapes and distribution of different micro-climate profile contours, especially in light intensity. At air temperature and air humidity can not obtain contour lines, because the results of the data from the research conducted are not much different. Plant growth rates in each treatment showed different productivity. In this type of paranet lid material shows better results compared to the type of plastic hood and combination material. In this type of paranet lid material produces an average dry weight of 247.9 grams. Keywords: hood type material, cayenne pepper plant, microclimate.

The study has been done on the effect of microgravity on cayenne pepper seed (Capsicum frutescens L.) on the growth rate and percentage of live of cayenne pepper plant. Microgravity is simulated by 2-D clinostat with the rotation speed of 2.7 rpm (1.22 × 10-4 g). The microgravity treatments werevariatewith time, known for 12 h (S1), 24 h (S2), and 48 h (S3).The seeds that have been clinorotated were planted in normal gravity environment, 1 g. Plant height and percentage of life measurements were carried out every dayduring the vegetative phase of plant of 0-40 days. The results showed that microgravity treatment on seeds gives positive effect on the growth rate of the cayenne pepper plant.

Cayenne pepper is one type of vegetables that have high economic value. Cayenne pepper as one of the many vegetable commodities cultivated by farmers in Indonesia because it has a high selling price. This study aims to analyze the effect of microbes by using EM4 on chili plants and assess the dose and time of EM4 application that is effective against the growth of cayenne pepper plant. The research method used was experiment, that is factorial experiment by using Randomized Complete Random Design (RAL) design with two treatment factors, EM4 dose (D) : D1= 5 ml/L, D2 = 10 5 ml/L, D3 = 20 ml/L and EM4 (T) time: T1= 5 HT, T2 = 10 HST, T3= 15 HST and. In total there are 10 treatment combinations with one control treatment (D0T0), with each treatment 3 plants and 3 replications, so there are 90 plants. The results showed that EM4 dosage with 15 days application time was the best combination of treatment for plant height, plant biomass and root length.
