In India, the administrative system, with roots in the colonial past, is largely perceived as unresponsive and insensitive to the citizens’ needs particularly in its vast rural hinterland. The common citizens at the rural village level often find themselves at the receiving end of a cumbersome, iniquitous, and unfair service delivery system with very little involvement or inclusion in governance processes despite the best intentions of the government. It is believed that Information Communication Technology (ICT) enabled e-governance through the local self governing units (Panchayats) at the village level could simplify civic governance, improve the public services delivery system, make government and administration more democratic and inclusive, and more accessible to the citizens at the local village level. In this context, the chapter attempts to examine the challenges to, and dimensions of the task of electronic delivery of government services through the local self-government Institutions called “Panchayati Raj” in India.

The Hendrosari Village community has an important role to play in preserving and developing existing potentials such as natural and human resources. So that they have an important role in decision-making actions, influence and benefit the surrounding environmental conditions. Good management produces a tourist spot known as lontar sewu. Scope/Aim. Solid waste management in Ibadan Metropolis, the capital of Oyo State in Nigeria has been a serious concern to the government and the public for several years. The waste generated at the rate of about 0.51kg per capita per day from 11 Local Government Areas is transported to the existing four landfill sites and dumped indiscriminately. This study recorded various collection points using GPS, available collection bins, number of households using the facilities and identified the gap. Methods. The waste transportation routes used currently in respect of distance and travel time was assessed using a GIS analytical distribution and optimization mapping. Results. The results indicated that there is need for provision of 837 waste bins (5m3 capacities) to meet the demand gap. By following the optimized transportation routing, the waste management authorities can clear the waste 15 per cent more efficiently and save NGN 1.2 million (USD 3,335) on energy every year. Conclusions: The GIS analytical distribution and optimization mapping tool will help the city authorities in improving waste collection with significant saving in operational cost. It is replicable in other parts in African countries.

the use of plastics can provide convenience and practicality, plastic also has a particularly bad impact on the environment. Plastics contain artificial inorganic materials which are composed of chemicals that are dangerous enough for the environment. This waste of plastic is very difficult to decompose naturally. To decompose plastic waste itself, it takes approximately 80 years to completely degrade. Currently the government is increasingly active in providing awareness to the public to reduce the use of plastics in life, then providing teaching on how to treat plastic waste into goods that are beneficial to life. Participatory action research has three word elements, all of which have a connection between Participation, Action and Research. In the process of carrying out social change for the better, it must involve all levels of society who are the object or target as well as the subject where the social change must be carried out. utilization of organic waste which can be used as various kinds of valuable creativity and has a selling price that can improve the community's economy, and also make the environment clean and healthy. Making society in a harmonious and peaceful environment. There won't be any problems. The village will be safe and secure.

Waste has become a problem that is really worrying everywhere. If you pay close attention, there are indeed a number of factors that cause waste problems to become serious. First, population growth. Second, more and more instant food with plastic packaging. Third, the habit of littering, the habit of consuming instant food in packaging, to the habit of throwing garbage without sorting between organic and non-organic waste will damage the ecosystem. The same problem is also experienced by Berbek Village in Sidoarjo Regency, the problem of waste and flooding that is always faced by the city cannot only be the responsibility of the government, but the community as one of the producers of household waste should always help reduce the amount of waste. Thisneeds to provide an understanding to the community of environmental concerns, especially regarding household waste management and water conservation for the future based on water conservation. The results achieved from this activity are that the village community is aware of and understands the importance of a clean environment, there is no garbage scattered, puddles or floods can be reduced, and are able to practice independent waste management methods.
