Online learning is currently an inseparable part of the learning system since the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the obstacles in carrying out online learning is the limited skills in using information technology. This community service aims to improve students' understanding of information technology in supporting online learning. Based on the Pre and Post Test analysis, there was an increase in basic knowledge of information technology by 2.8% - 5.6% while an increase in understanding of the use of information technology was 8.3% - 13.9%. Overall there is an increase in knowledge and understanding of information technology after the training.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this community service is to improve the ability of teachers to utilize information technology for online learning. The current COVID-19 pandemic has a major impact on education in Indonesia. Under these conditions, there will be a shift in the learning process from what is done in school to learning from home. One of the innovations made by the world of education during this pandemic is online learning. With this program and in the current pandemic conditions, of course SMA Negeri 5 Cimahi inevitably has to do online learning. However, online learning in secondary schools, not all students and teachers use the e-learning system synchronously in the teaching and learning process. The methods used in this service activity are in the form of training, discussions, and simulations conducted through webinars using the Zoom Meeting application. During the training, in addition to provide materials, pre-test and post-test were also given to participants. The training material was a google meet application for online learning. The result of this service activity was an increase in the ability of teachers to utilize information technology in online learning, namely synchronous e-learning using the Google Meet application. Keywords: Information technology, online learning, synchronous e-learning   ABSTRAK Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan para guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi informasi untuk pembelajaran online. Pandemi COVID-19 saat ini berdampak besar pada pendidikan di Indonesia. Dengan kondisi tersebut maka akan terjadi pergeseran proses pembelajaran dari apa yang dilakukan di sekolah menjadi belajar dari rumah. Salah satu inovasi yang dilakukan oleh dunia pendidikan selama pandemi ini adalah pembelajaran online. Dengan adanya program ini dan dalam kondisi pandemi saat ini tentunya SMA Negeri 5 Cimahi mau tidak mau harus melakukan pembelajaran secara online. Namun, pembelajaran online di sekolah menengah, tidak semua siswa dan guru menggunakan sistem e-learning secara sinkron dalam proses belajar mengajar. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa pelatihan, diskusi, dan simulasi yang dilakukan melalui webinar dengan menggunakan aplikasi Zoom Meeting. Selama pelatihan, selain pemberian materi, juga diberikan pre-test dan post-test kepada peserta. Materi pelatihannya berupa aplikasi google meet untuk pembelajaran online. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dalam pembelajaran online yaitu e-learning sinkron dengan menggunakan aplikasi Google Meet. This study aimed to design and develop an online learning system to enhance thinking and innovation skills for higher education learners. The objectives were to (1) design a system diagram, system architecture and functional structure for online learning framed by the SECI process (Socialization, Externalization, Combination and Internalization) and Moodle, (2) develop an online learning management system (LMS) with a new plug-in using Moodle, and (3) evaluate system suitability for the development of students’ thinking and innovation skills. The research methodology was developed using a literature review to identify core components, focus group interviews to verify the process, software development by Moodle LMS, and assessments to measure learning outcome. Research instruments consisted of interview questions, Moodle LMS, and a self-assessment questionnaire. Assessment data was evaluated through pre-test and post-test analysis. Results revealed a statistically significant difference between pre- and post-test scores in both thinking and innovation skills, with the post-test score higher than pre-test score at a 0.01 level of significance. Findings revealed that online learning systems had a positive influence on students’ thinking and innovation skills.

Information technology has created tremendous chances in higher education across the globe. With the availability and flexibility of learning online, there are increasing competitions between online learning and traditional, face-to-face classroom. These two types of learning both have their pros and cons. From the advantages and disadvantages of online learning, universities have recently changed the way of their teaching through combining online learning and traditional classroom. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate and understand the advancements of the combination of the two types of learning. In this paper, we will introduce the advantages and disadvantages of online learning and the combined learning. We also share our experience on teaching at Flinders University, South Australia through Flinders learning online system. From this knowledge, we will suggest some solutions about building a combined learning system which is suitable for Vietnamese universities.

The aim of the paper is to examine the correlation of the knowledge gained by students in online and offline classes, consequently, the overall performance of e-learning, as well as the effectiveness of the certain language skills among the main four (listening, speaking, reading, writing) by virtue of students’ feedback and objective experimental results using statistical methods data processing. The paper demonstrates the results of the e-learning experimental research conducted during the academic year 2020/21, including the remote learning period due to the Covid19 pandemic situation in the spring semester, at the State Agrarian and Engineering University in Podilya, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Ukraine. Online study support for ESP was personally created as a four-credit course due to ECTS in the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) with the application of Big Blue Button. The research sample is represented by 100 students majoring in veterinary medicine and enrolled in the mandatory subject of English for Specific Purposes. The group of students was enrolled in the lessons based on their bachelor curriculum. The subjects, referred to as experimental and control groups, accordingly, both wrote the primary test, at the beginning of the course, and the final one at the end. For pre-test content, the online standard test for B1 level was applied. The post-test was created by the educators, who were involved in the experiment. Due to the results procession and test analysis, it is admitted that the students of the experimental group showed slightly worse results in listening comprehension section, while having the same indicators concerning writing skills, and they had essentially worse outcomes in speaking and reading comprehension if compared to their peers from the control group. Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon non-parametrical pair tests were selected to check the statistical hypotheses, due to the character of input data.

This service aims to provide online learning guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic which was carried out at the Permata Harapan Vocational School in Batam. This training was carried out for 4 meetings using the zoom application. Community service activities in the form of educational development for Permata Harapan Vocational High School students can provide benefits by applying the methods of implementing training activities, discussions and questions and answers. This service was attended by Mr. Miftahul Ilmi and Mrs. Lolita as teachers at Permata Harapan school and also attended by 20 students. The results obtained from this activity are: the ability of students to the digital world increases, especially for the applications used and the available tools. Students also feel they have a high curiosity to understand the applications used and are interested in the menus offered. The ability to adapt to the online learning system is very necessary for current conditions, where the presenter also conveys motivation to students to continue to be able to follow the lesson well.

The online learning system is still having problems. As a result of the observations of the USU team, several obstacles were felt not only by the teachers at MIN 2 Serdang Bedagai but also by students and parents. The problems that occur are quite diverse. Starting from limited signal, limited devices suitable for online learning, to the lack of technological knowledge of teachers and students on online applications that support the teaching and learning process. There are various online applications available today, such as Google Classroom, Zoom, Google Meet, Youtube, and others. These various online applications play an important role in helping students and teachers in the distance learning process. The USU team conducted training using the online application Google Classroom and Zoom. Google Classroom and Zoom were chosen because they are easier for the teacher to implement, besides that the two online applications facilitate coordination and communication between teachers and students, so that the material being taught can be discussed more easily, more freely and can be updated more quickly. In this community service, Online Learning training was conducted for the Elementary School / Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Level with Various Online Applications at MIN 2 Serdang Bedagai. This community service has reached the implementation stage of training which begins with the initial survey stage, provision of training modules and also training. The next stage is monitoring and evaluation and feedback.

In the world of education now learning methods do not only use conventional methods such as from textbooks and teacher explanations, but also with effective and efficient learning methods using information technology. An example is multimedia-based learning media. Community service is one way that can be used to carry out information technology socialization. The community service that will be carried out in this study is entitled Easy and Interesting Mathematics Learning Through Animation. For elementary school students, with the aim of helping students in the learning process of mathematics that is more interesting interactive and fun, because in general lower elementary school students view mathematics lessons are difficult and boring learning. In this service, a learning media for mathematics will be created that includes the problem of building and space in accordance with the existing curriculum. Learning applications that are built include material, training, and tests, in accordance with applicable competency standards. Furthermore, training will be given to several elementary schools, as a briefing on how to use this learning system application so as to increase student motivation and ultimately improve student achievement and improve education quality.

This community service activity aims to improve teachers’ abilities to create video lessons that could be used either on online learning or in person. The activity's strategy was a workshop that mainly focused on working and creating video lessons after giving a brief explanation on how to produce the video. The workshop also involves pre and post-test to assess the improvement of participants’ competence. This activity resulted in video lessons uploaded on the Youtube channel, and participants’ assessment scores improved from 65,8 to 76,9. Therefore, teachers involved in this social service admitted that they benefit from joining the workshop as they are now able to create exciting video lessons that might raise students’ enthusiasm and motivation in the learning process.

The development of knowledge in the field of information and communication technology has received positive support from the world of education. The development of computers and supporting software can help in the visualization of objects or abstract concepts. The online learning system is one of the information technology breakthroughs that offers flexibility in a learning system. In addition, online media is very effective in creating an open learning environment, therefore online learning media is needed. One of the media is Facebook and Telegram. The purpose of this development is to utilize Facebook and Telegram as a means of collaboration in the world of learning. In addition, it is also to determine the effectiveness of the interactions that occur in online learning. Facebook and telegram learning was developed as material for social media groups by utilizing websites, blogs, yahoogroups, virtual laboratories, and google as supporting programs. The advantage of Facebook is that it is equipped with chat facilities that provide other sites. Facebook is a place for teachers, students, and enthusiasts of thermochemistry to interact outside of the classroom. Facebook was developed to be used for learning group members without the presence of a teacher or instructor, can be accessed by group members at any time and costs are relatively affordable, and can support information technology-based network programs according to government programs
