The content of the "education quality" concept was considered in the article. The problems of mathematical and natural education of pupils of secondary schools and students of the higher education institutions were analyzed. It has been found that their level of training in mathematical and natural subjects (disciplines) remains too low for successful studying in the higher education institutions and this significantly inhibits the process of acquiring the necessary competences. In order to improve the mathematical and natural preparation of pupils and students, taking into account the development of the STEM education concept in the country, it was proposed to enhance the motivational component of education by introducing advanced educational technologies, in particular, project learning, "creating a situation of success", forming the creative personality of the pupil or student, etc. In our opinion, by increasing the motivation and interest in learning, this will help to intensify and increase the efficiency of the educational process, to develop creative cooperation between the student and the teacher, to increase the creative component of the educational process. The main results of the experimental research work on the implementation of the model of "Conflict-free education" conducted at the Polytechnic Lyceum of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" were presented. It was found that implementation of the system of level education and level-stage assessment of students' educational achievements optimizes the process of mastering, consolidation and deepening of students' knowledge, contributes to improving the quality of mathematical-natural education, the motivation of students' learning, their creativity and research competence. The 12-point Student Achievement Assessment Scale developed at the Polytechnic Lyceum back in 1991 (it was taken as a basis by Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in 2000), has some differences, making the number of conflicts (misunderstandings) between students & parents and teachers quite low. The presented model is effective for lessons of different types and in classes with different learning profiles.

Introduction. Today, there is a whole range of problems related to youth employment. These problems are caused by social, economic, technological, migration reasons, rapid transformation of the labour market structure and all spheres of life of a modern man. The value-motivational attitudes of young people in solving the issue of their employment become different. The aim of the research is to identify the dynamics and qualitative changes in values, which determine the choice of the future workplace by university graduates, as well as the degree of compliance of the claims of young specialists with the requirements imposed by employers.Methodology and research methods. The methodology of the present research is based on the theory of determination of human activity, which reveals the relationship of socio-economic, sociocultural factors, needs, goals, value orientations, personality attitudes in determining the content of the desired job and place of employment. The main research method was a questionnaire survey of bachelor’s students in their final year of studies, who receive technical, economic, humanitarian and pedagogical education in universities of Ekaterinburg – a large Russian industrial and cultural centre. The survey was conducted in 2016 and 2018 according to a single method. At the first stage (2016) the quota sample was 1905 people, at the second stage (2018) – 2420 people. The opinions of the heads of enterprises and organisations of the Ural region on the quality of young specialists’ training, their desire and ability to actively participate in innovation processes were revealed through the method of in-depth interviews. Results and scientific novelty. The results of a comparative study showed the preservation of the graduates’ value orientations to high salaries and opportunities for rapid professional and career growth. At the same time, very significant changes in the direction and content of young people’s orientations to the forthcoming employment were revealed: perceptions of the importance of early search for the profession demanded in labour market and the work in the acquired specialty; values of social status of a specialist with higher education; self-realisation in activities corresponding to personal inclinations and potential. The share of students who do not have clear plans for employment by the time they graduate decreased by half, and the share of technical departments graduates without such plans decreased fourfold. The share of students seeking to raise their social status by receiving a higher education diploma doubled. The number of students focused on obtaining a specialty corresponding to their personal abilities decreased by a quarter. The variation was found in accordance with the specifics of the direction of training of bachelor’s degree students’ determination to continue further studies in master’s degree programmes and their value attitudes for work, including in related specialties. The representatives of enterprises, where students undergo practical training, began to actively help them in finding a job corresponding to their specialty. However, the heads of manufacturing sectors and management staff of various organisations note the inadequacy of ambitions of a large part of applicants for prestigious positions due to the low level of the formation of necessary universal, general professional and professional competencies. According to the employers, there are no noticeable positive changes in the level of readiness of young professionals to actively engage in self-education and continuous professional development, mastering technological innovations.Practical significance. Since the success of graduate employment is an important indicator of university efficiency, the results of the present research can be applied by education management specialists dealing with the issues of the quality of education, career guidance, employment of population and youth policy.

One of the most important tasks of higher education is to transform the research potential of higher educational institutions into a factor of economic development of Russia. According to the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard for Higher Education and qualification requirements of the Unified Qualification Directory of positions of managers, specialists and civil servants, the organization, management, participation, and conduct of research work is one of the job responsibilities of lecturers, associate professors, and professors of the department, especially workers of science. Meanwhile, the results of research activities should be implemented in the educational process - only then the process of creating new knowledge and the process of its assimilation will be well-balanced, and the cycle of updating knowledge itself will be shorter. The article examines the experience of the Moscow University for the Humanities in the organization of work related to the implementation of the results of research activities in the educational process. Research work is considered in the article as a scientific activity that includes the formulation of a research task, scientific search, collection and analysis of information, its systematization, conducting research and experiments, identifying patterns that manifest themselves in nature and society, scientific generalizations, determination and justification of the scope of implementation of the obtained results. The final result of scientific activity should have practical significance and novelty. The article considers the experience of the Moscow University for the Humanities in terms of integrating research work into the educational process.

higher education, focused on training, which will be in demand by the modernised economy in the strategic perspective, is one of the conditions for the implementation of the Decree the President of the Russian Federation of 07 May 2018. In this regard, the importance of an adequate efficiency assessment of the training system in general and in higher education is growing.Aim. In the context of the initiated discussion on methodological improvement of efficiency assessment of universities, the aims of the present article are the following: to discuss the existing criteria and indicators (proposed by the macroregulator) of the expertise; to justify the inconsistency of such criteria and indicators to obtain real information on the innovative potential and the quality of human potential of graduates.Methodology and research methods. The research work was carried out on the basis of a systematic approach and inductive research method. To confirm the hypothesis, the method of comparative analysis and the following general scientific methods were applied: analytical review of scientific literature and normative documents, generalisation, comparison and analogy. Results and scientific novelty. Based on the performance monitoring data, the author presents the results of the evaluation of some universities, recognised as centers of innovation, technological and social development of the regions according to the indicators proposed by the Ministry of Education and Science. The conducted analysis indicates the complexity of the formulation of conclusions regarding the innovative potential of universities due to the incorrectness of the approach proposed by the macro-regulator. The shortcomings of the new project proposed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to assess the effectiveness of universities and their leaders are revealed. It is necessary to revise the methodology applied. When assessing university efficiency, principle focus should be emphasised on: a) identifying the fact and the dynamics of the increment of knowledge and skills of trainees (primarily, the degree of formation of abilities to learn and independently gain new knowledge); b) assessment of the economic component of the human potential of graduates, involving the introduction of indicators, by which it is possible to judge their demand in the labour market. Three measurement control points are proposed: the level of remuneration at the initial stage of career, in five and ten years after graduation. As a basic indicator of the university innovation activity, it is proposed to consider the share of the profits derived from the use of intellectual activity results in the total income of the organisation. In technical universities, this indicator can be used with additional indicators: number of patents per 100 scientific and pedagogical workers; the number of patents per 100 published articles indexed in the world scientometric databases. In order to maximise the potential of in-service teachers, the principles of financing universities should be changed, as well as the target rates should be introduced to attract young scientific and pedagogical personnel.Practical significance. The research results can be used to improve the methodology for efficiency assessment of universities, as well as to avoid the institutional traps in higher education and science.

When there is high competition between universities for applicants, research into the applicants’ motives becomes relevant. This research used a survey questionnaire, the results of which were subjected to correlation analysis. The survey involved students from four Moscow universities, differing in both rating and quality of admission. The main reasons why applicants choose their university were the availability of budget places and the cost of training. The source of information about the university is also important. Modern youth (and also their parents) focus mainly on Internet sites for applicants and on the university’s website social networks. The role of Internet resources will only increase in the future although traditional forms of attracting applicants, such as open days and Olympics should not be discounted. They attract at least a quarter of the admissions. The research revealed that school graduates who are strongly oriented toward higher education prepare for exams very seriously. More than two-thirds of all students surveyed noted several options for preparing for the exam. However, not all applications had a solid life position with regard to their future profession. Many have chosen those courses that are easier to pass. One of the important factors in making a choice and in preparation is the image of the university. The higher the rating of the university, the more motivated applicants it attracts and as a result, the level of training of graduates also increases. It is proposed that distance forms of participation in university events are developed so as to expand coverage.

The article is devoted to the analysis of modern approaches to the organization of the educational process, which would contribute to the formation of a category of lawyers with the necessary knowledge and are capable of preparing and implementing reforms in the political and legal system of their state. It is determined that modern legal education poses its own requirements to the applicant, namely to be a comprehensively developed, independent, self-sufficient person, guided in life by his own knowledge and beliefs, in this regard, the issue of professional training of a modern lawyer, which could withstand modern challenges, becomes especially relevant. It is noted that the training of the future lawyer should be aimed at forming a versatile specialist (lawyer), ready to fulfill a complex set of modern practical tasks for the legal protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of a person and citizen. On this basis, the training of future lawyers should take into account modern approaches to the educational process. The most important of them are analyzed on the example of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (hereinafter - NULES of Ukraine). First, the quality of specialists’ training substantially depends on quality of teaching subject matters which is defined by providing applicants with the corresponding training material (modern qualitative textbooks, manuals, study guides, didactic materials, etc.). And most importantly - the use of computer technology, electronic educational resources, with the help of which the interaction of the sphere of higher education with other spheres of life of society is ensured. Of course, modern ICTs increase the efficiency of the educational process, open the possibility of introducing completely new methods of teaching and learning. However, the implications of the growing importance of ICT in general, and the Internet in particular, should also be taken into account. The use of modern ICTs has become an integral part of the educational process of NULES of Ukraine during the Covid-19 pandemic. Secondly, taking into account modern trends in the field of education, the training of future lawyers should not ignore one of the most important indicators of the quality of higher legal education - the use of a foreign language in the educational process, in particular English. In particular, the NULES of Ukraine provides teaching in English of certain legal disciplines for applicants for higher education of the first (bachelor's) level. Thirdly, the training of a lawyer should be not only theoretical, but also practical. Practical training of a lawyer involves work during practical classes, internships in enterprises, institutions and organizations, self-training by independently performing certain tasks. However, it is worth highlighting another form of practical component of the training of future lawyers - these are legal clinics. To date, such a form of specialists’ practical training in the field of law has been effectively introduced into the educational process of higher educational institutions of Ukraine of the III-IV levels of accreditation. NULES of Ukraine is no exception. The Legal Clinic «Protection and Justice» operates on the basis of the Department of International Law and Comparative Law. It is proved that the quality of specialists’ training in the field of law depends on many factors (the use of modern ICT in the educational process, electronic educational resources, the possibilities of foreign languages in teaching legal disciplines, etc.). However, to a large extent, the quality of training depends on the practical component of the educational process, and therefore special attention should be paid to this component. Keywords: legal education, a lawyer, modern approaches, educational process, lawyers’ training, distance education, foreign language, legal clinic
