Character building applied in the world of education, especially those related to economic education that aims to produce professional educators in the field of education as well as scientists in the field of education and economics. This study discusses the issue of character buiding in consumption behavior which is very important because it is the goal of national education. The consumption behavior characterized is influenced by several variables, among others: economic learning received in schools, social-cultural environment where a person lives and attitude to consume that upholds the values ​​contained in Pancasila. Findings show that all variables directly affect consumption behavior characterized.

<p><em>The teachers of Hindu religion classes play central role in the effort to reach the goal of the national education as well as to build the characters that include honesty, skillfullness, clean and good-heartedness, as described in the national standard of education regulation No 20/2003 in which it states that the curriculum has to provide religious education (Pasal 37 UU Sisdiknas). The government attention to the education is implemented too by the issue of the Regulation on Teachers and Lecturers which states that teachers are professional educators with main duty to educate, teach, guide, train, and evaluate the students in the formal elementary, secondary, and high schools (UU RI No. 14/2005) Purwanto (2004:10).Education is the intentional enlightening from the adult to the younger ones in relation to their development in order to make them useful for themselves and in the society“</em><em></em></p><p><em>The Indonesian national education systemas stated in UU No.2/1989 Bab, II, pasal 4,  states that the goal of the education is to develop a complete Indonesia people who are religious, good in their characters, have good knowledge and skills, healthy physically and mentally, independent, responsible for the society and nation. In line with that, the Hindu teachers should refer to the Vedic teachings and consider the physical, psychological, and social environments of study, the life as students (</em>Sisya/Brahmacari<em>), their roles (</em>Acarya<em>), the curriculum, the mteaching methods, as well as the goal of the education. These all should be centered on </em><em></em></p><ul><li><em>teaching with the emphasis on directing and motivating to reach the character building</em></li><li><em>facilitating that through learning experience </em></li><li><em>helping to develop attitudes, values, and self adaptation </em></li></ul><p class="ParaAttribute1"><em>At schools teachers should commit themselves to be 1) role models, 2) inspirators, 3) motivators, 4) regulator, 5) evaluator besides having good vision. Without these all, the goal of education will fail. </em><em></em></p>

AbstractThe National Education System has grown so rapidly over time. A variety of efforts have been made to build every prosperous, dignified Indonesian human being, so that the quality of Indonesian thinking is progressing. The ASEAN Economic Community which has been launched since 2015 has resulted in free competition, both in trade, employment, and there is free competition for educators in ASEAN countries. Besides that, Indonesian education is faced with challenges and developments in the times, where the culture between ASEAN countries has no limits, this is the challenge faced when implementing the Asean Economic Comunity (ASEAN Economic Community) MEA. Indonesia as a country in the ASEAN region must prepare domestic educators to have professionalism and character so that they can compete with the AEC. Educators must be aware of the essence of the existence of their profession, continue to struggle to make changes in order to realize professionalism with noble character. Efforts made in preparing professional educators to face the challenges of the AEC must touch the most fundamental aspects of changing their competencies, namely the mindset. A student must be more advanced and innovative in developing his learning so that he can change the mindset of students to do agent of change. Аналізується важливість і проблемний ряд здійснення реформи місцевого самоврядування в регіонах країни і шляхи її розв’язання у галузі культури. Пропонуються найбільш ефективні кроки для управлінських структур різних рівнів щодо зміни ставлення як представників керівної ланки, так і місцевого населення щодо різноманітних культурних практик. Акцентується увага на ролі методичних служб галузі у процесі здійснення цієї реформ. Наголошено на використанні досвіду інших країн в активізації місцевого населення у цьому процесі. Здійснено спробу запропонувати ефективні, на думку авторів, рішення у питанні проведення зазначеної реформи. Акцент зроблено на освітній чинник. . Ключові слова: культурні практики, місцеве самоврядування, соціальна активність, заклад вищої освіти, організаційно-культурна діяльність.   On the example of organizational, cultural and artistic activity the practice of holding anniversary art exhibitions of regional artistsOleksandr Harvat (photo art) and the first Head (1991-1998) of the regional department of the National Union of Artists Kostiantyn Lytvyn (fine arts, graphics)is analyzed. The specificity of their creative experience, influence on the cultural environment is considered. The most striking pages of the creative biographiesof each of them and the influence of exhibition activity on the artistic environment of the region are revealed. The importance of continuing to preserve the culturalheritage of regional artists in order to position Ukraine in the cultural space of the world is emphasized. Risk is most often associated with danger and perceived as a harmful aspect of life, as an insidious and unwelcome threat that should be avoided. Risk-taking, however, is sometimes a singular passion, a source of pleasure that becomes a way of life. When freely pursued as a valorised activity, it can be a path to self-fulfilment, an opportunity to confront new situations, and a means for redefining one’s self, testing personal abilities, increasing self-esteem or gaining recognition. Deliberate risk-taking is a form of character building. It accommodates life’s intensities. It is extremely popular in high-risk physical activities and sports and postmodern forms of adventure.

Abstract As transmedia franchises increasingly populate our cultural environment, many questions arise about the effect of the different media involved in the depiction of storyworlds. Through the analysis of different examples, with special emphasis on the particular case of The Walking Dead, and drawing primarily from Henry Jenkins’s concept of “transmedia storytelling” and Jens Schroter’s concept of intermediality, this paper aims to show how different media aesthetics contribute to the process of storytelling and enrich the experience of the consumer. Usually overlooked in other analyses, we argue that these formal and aesthetical characteristics, such as the interactive nature of video games, call for a broader approach that transcends the accustomed search of common narrative aspects. This will be exemplified by a closer comparative look at the adventure game The Walking Dead: The Ganie (Telltale Games, 2012) and The Walking Dead: Survival Instiiict (Terminal Reality, 2013). The transformations that the different media demand contribute not only to the narrative, but also provide different tools for the construction of storyworlds and different ways to engage with it.

This article reports on the role of teacher education in the curriculum reform of basic education in Myanmar. There was political change in Myanmar, a transition from military administration to democracy in 2010. Political change impacts on various sectors such as economic, education and health. As the education system was changed to meet the international standards, curriculum in basic education and teacher education were updated.  In the previous education of Myanmar that has progressed from the old monastic education to the current modern education, there has never been a curriculum framework although syllabi, textbooks, teacher’s guides with different teaching methods and various assessment forms were designed and used. Therefore, Myanmar Ministry of Education is now implementing the educational reforms by setting the curriculum framework with the direction of the National Education Law (Soe, et al.; 2017, Htet, 2020). This paper provides an overview of teacher education, basic education, curriculum reforms. Although teacher education including three institutions cooperates with basic education in implementation of the new curriculum, it found that there are still few weaknesses in implementation of the new curriculum of basic education. Soe et al. (2017) recommended that the new curriculum will fulfill local needs and circumstances and discourage the practice of rote-learning and will ensure that students grow as independent thinkers with their own sense of creativity.

The perception of one’s own identity is one of the basic moments of a personality construct as they relate to how people act; perceive the world around and with what social they identify themselves. While immersed in an alien culture these perceptions transform. The authors aimed to examine differences in selfimages of the Russian-speaking emigrants before and after emigration. Our hypothesis implies significant differences in self-image upon immersing in another cultural environment. The objective we set resides in identifying aspects of selfimage exposed to transformations and the degree of these changes. For data accumulating before and after the process of international migration with a period of 14 months, we exploited M. Kuhn and T. McPartland’s test “Who am I?” The data demonstrated statistically significant differences in the respondents’ self –image in the course of adaptation. The results allow us to conclude that with a changing social situation self-perception also most alternations exhibit those aspects of selfimage through which the respondents interacted with a host-country population. We believe that self-image presents a hierarchically organized, complex, and dynamic structure with the core and the periphery. The components of self-image can rebuild itself in response to a situation of social interaction.

Since textbook evaluation is an interesting area in the field of applied linguistics, the present study intends to investigate Moroccan teachers’ perspectives concerning the EFL textbook “Visa to the World” designed for common core high school students in Morocco. It also aims to assess the effectiveness of this textbook which was suggested by the Moroccan Ministry of National Education as an instructional material for middle school students. This means that the researchers intend to highlight teachers’ attitudes towards the textbook through which students obtain the linguistic knowledge needed so as to communicate in English with native and non-native speakers. It is highly significant to mention that the study assesses the effectiveness of the textbook, “Visa to the World”, on the basis of seven main criteria: the physical appearance and format of the textbook, the accompanying materials, the content and the topics, the exercises and the activities, cultural presentation, the four skills and the language methods that the textbook adopts.

There is no doubt that having good characters is essential to everyone in society. Character is even a major consideration in the world of education. For this reason, character building is considered important to be explored. By using entertainment media such as movie, this library research concentrates on the character building symbolized through the American animation films Frozen (2013) and Frozen II (2019). Besides the main data from the films, reference sources in the form of books and journals were also used for analysis. Hall’s theory of representation was applied to analyze the data gathered for this study such as dialogs and the description of scenes from the films to identify how the character building is represented through the films as well as to understand the essence of character building. The result showed that the animation films observed in this study can represent good characters through seven values such as bravery, politeness, sacrifice, empathy, curiosity, confidence, and caring. Additionally, this study also reveals that the concept of character is associated with life values, morality and attitude and therefore, character building is significant to shape people with quality in order to create peace and harmony in society. Through this study, it expected that the findings can contribute to the development of the theory in humanities and education and it can provide better understanding to people about character building through American animated films.
