The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation to improve sleep quality in the elderly who has insomnia in the Unggahan Village, Buleleng Regency. This research method is a quantitative study with a pre experiment research design with one group design pre-post test design. The results showed statistically, progressive muscle relaxation was effective to improve sleep quality in elderly women with a value of p = 0,000 or p <α (0.05). Conclusion, progressive muscle relaxation is effective in increasing sleep quality in the elderly who live at home.   Keywords: Sleep Quality, Elderly, Progressive Muscle Relaxation

Gangguan  pemenuhan  kebutuhan tidur sering kali menjadi masalah yang dialami lanjut usia sehingga mengalami penurunan kualitas tidur. Menurunnya kualitas tidur bagi lansia yang tidak ditangani dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya permasalahan lain seperti gangguan memori dan mood, depresi, resiko terjatuh, hingga menurunnya kualitas hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan relaksasi otot progresif terhadap kualitas tidur lansia di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Minaula Kendari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Pre Experimental Design dengan pendekatan one group pre test-post test design. Populasi adalah seluruh lansia yang terdaftar di Panti sosial Tresna Werdha Minaula tahun 2017 sebanyak 95 orang dan sampel 49 orang, data diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner dan di uji menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kualitas tidur lansia sebelum latihan relaksasi otot progresif diperoleh rata-rata skor 6,18 dan setelah dilakukan relaksasi otot progresif diperoleh rata-rata skor 3,84. Hasil analisis statistik diperoleh nilai p value < 0,001. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh latihan relaksasi otot progresif terhadap kualitas tidur lansia di panti sosial Tresna Werdha Minaula Kendari.   Kata kunci: relaksasi otot progresif, kualitas tidur, lansia PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION EXERCISE ON QUALITY OF ELDERLY SLEEP   ABSTRACT Disorders of meeting the needs of sleep are often problems experienced by the elderly resulting in decreased sleep quality. Decreased quality of sleep for the elderly who are not treated can lead to other problems such as impaired memory and mood, depressed, the risk of falling, to decreased quality of life. This study aims to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation exercises on the quality of elderly sleep at Tresna Werdha Minaula institution Kendari. This research is Pre Experimental Design with one group pre-test-post test design. Population is all elderly registered in Tresna Werdha Minaula year 2017 were 95 people and sample 49 people, data obtained using questionnaire and tested using wilcoxon sign rank test. The results showed that the elderly sleep quality before progressive muscle relaxation exercise obtained an average score of 3.84 and after progressive muscle relaxation obtained an average score of 6.18. The result of statistical analysis obtained p value <0,001. ABSTRACT : THE EFFECT OF PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION TECHNIQUES ON SLEEP QUALITY AND PHYSICAL FATIGUE IN THE ELDERLY AT THE FOUNDATION GUNA BUDI BAKTI MEDAN Background: The elderly experience various health problems, one of which is sleep disturbance and physical fatigue. The elderly require handling sleep problems so that optimal sleep needs are met. Ways to improve sleep quality and physical fatigue are progressive muscle relaxation that can overcome or reduce anxiety, reduce pain, reduce muscle and bone tension.Purpose: This study aims to know the effect of progressive muscle relaxation techniques on sleep quality and physical fatigue of the elderly at the Guna Budi Bakti Foundation in Medan.Methods: This research uses quantitative with a quasi-experimental design through the one group pre-test and a post-test design approach. The time of the study was in May 2020. The population is all elderly. The sampling technique uses a saturated sampling technique and a sample of 73 people. Data collection methods used in the form of questionnaires and observation sheets. Univariate data analysis is displayed in the frequency distribution table, and bivariate with statistics using paired t-test. Results: The results of the study get the majority aged 61-80 years, female gender, self-employed work, and Buddhism. Data results before the majority intervention of sleep quality are less, and physical fatigue is high. After majority intervention of sleep quality is sufficient, and physical fatigue is low. The effect of progressive muscle relaxation techniques on sleep quality and physical fatigue of the elderly, using the paired t-test obtained sig values. Waktu penelitian pada bulan Mei 2020. Populasi adalah seluruh lansia. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh, dan sampel sebanyak 73 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa kuesioner dan lembar observasi. Analisa data univariat ditampilkan dalam tabel distribusi frekuensi, dan bivariat dengan statistik menggunakan uji paired t- test.Hasil Penelitian: Hasil penelitian ini mendapatkan mayoritas berusia 61-80 tahun, berjenis kelamin perempuan, pekerjaan wiraswasta, dan beragama Budha. Hasil data sebelum intervensi mayoritas kualitas tidur kurang, dan kelelahan fisik tinggi. Setelah intervensi mayoritas kualitas tidur cukup, dan kelelahan fisik rendah. ABSTRAKSri NyumirahAkademi Keperawatan Pasar Reboe-mail : [email protected] Gangguan istirahat dan tidur merupakan keluhan utama yang sering dialami lansia, dengan perkiraan lebih dari setengah jumlah lansia yang berusia di atas 65 Tahun yang tinggal di rumah dan sekitar dua pertiga jumlah lansia yang berada dalam fasilitas perawatan jangka panjang mengalami kesulitan tidur. Pada proses penuaan yang mempengaruhi terjadinya perubahan pola tidur karena faktor lingkungan, faktor bilogis dan faktor psikososial. Banyak penelitian yang telah dilakukan bahwa hubungan mekanisme tidur dan terjaga dengan penuaan, walaupun tidur dan terjaga memiliki spektrum perilaku yang sangat berbeda, keduanya diyakini telah diatur oleh sebagian kecil fungsi fisiologis umum dan mekanisme neurokimiawi (Maas dkk, 2014). Menurut Herodes (2010) teknik relaksasi otot progresif adalah teknik relaksasi otot dalam yang tidak memerlukan imajinasi, ketekunan, atau sugesti. Berdasarkan keyakinan bahwa tubuh manusia berespons pada kecemasan dan kejadian yang merangsang pikiran dengan ketegangan otot. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian teknik relaksasi otot progresif terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan istirahat tidur pada lansia di Panti Werdha Budi Mulya 1 Cipayung Jakarta Timur. Desain penelitian pra-post test dalam satu kelompok (one group pre-post test design). Sampel berjumlah 28  lansia dengan tehnik pengambilan sampel accidental sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh terapi relaksasi otot progresif terhadap kebutuhan istirahat dan tidur lansia (p value0,05). Pemenuhan kebutuhan istirahat tidur sesudah dilaksanakan teknik relaksasi otot pada lansia di Panti Werdha sebagian besar terpenuhi. Research design pre-post test in one group (one group pre-post test design). The sample consisted of 28 elderly with accidental sampling technique. The results showed that there was an effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy on the need for rest and sleep in the elderly (p value 0.05). Most of the fulfillment of the need for sleep rest after the implementation of muscle relaxation techniques in the elderly at the Nursing Home is fulfilled. Background: Sleep is one part of physiological needs and it is a basic need which is needed by all humans to be able to function optimally. However, the elderly will often experience sleep disorders. Sleep disorders in the elderly will affect the quality of sleep. One of nursing intervention that can improve the elderly sleeping quality is progressive muscle relaxation therapy. This study aims to determine the differences of sleep quality before and after having progressive muscle relaxation therapy toward the elderly with sleep disorders.Methods: This research was conducted at the Tresna Werdha Sabai Nan Aluih Social Home, Sicincin in 2019. The research was conducted for 2 weeks with one-week intervention. This research is a Quasy experiment using one group pre-test and post-test without control group design approach. This study used the sample of 16 respondents taken by purposive sampling. The analysis of data uses dependent T-test with a significance level of 95% (α 0.05).Results: The results of the study found that the average sleep quality of the elderly before being given the intervention was 13.63 and after the intervention it became 8.44 with p value of 0.000.Conclusions: The results showed that there were significant differences before and after the intervention. For this reason, it is recommended for the elderly with sleep disorders to be able to do progressive muscle relaxation therapy to improve sleep quality.

Physiological changes in the elderly can cause a change in the neural system that is a disorder towards sleep quality while changes in the musculoskeletal system are the occurrence of muscle strength decline. Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy is a therapy which can improve sleep quality and muscle strength. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy towards muscle strength and sleep quality of the elderly at House Technical Implementation. The research type used is quasi-experiment design with pretest and posttest nonequivalent control group design. The population in this research were all elderly as many as 40 elderly people. The sampling technique used was Total Sampling which was then divided into intervention group which consists of 20 respondents and control group which consists of 20 respondents. The measurement tool used was PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) questionnaire for sleep quality and the MMT (Manual Muscle Testing) observation sheet for muscle strength. AbstrakKualitas tidur pada lansia yang mengalami insomnia sangat bervariasi  yaitu ada yang baik dan ada yang buruk.  Salah satu keluhan tidur lansia adalah Insomnia , dimana ini  merupakan suatu proses degenerasi pada lansia menyebabkan waktu tidur yang efektif semakin berkurang, dan menyebabkan tidak tercapainya kualitas tidur yang adekuat.  Intervensi yang diberikan dapat disisipkan dalan kegiatan Posbindu. Salah satu Intervensi yang dapat diberikan adalah terapi beapreasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui  ada atau tidaknya pengaruh terapi Beapreasi terhadap kualitas tidur pada lansia dengan insomnia di  Posbindu Kemuning Kelurahan Candirejo Ungaran. Design penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment pre-test post-test with control group dan dilakukan pada 128 responden yang terbagi kedalam kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol,  masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 64 responden . Metode  yang digunakan untuk menentukan responden adalah teknik purposive sampling. Penilaian Kualitas tidur di ukur dengan kuesioner PSQI dan dilakukan 2 kali pengukuran yaitu sebelum dan sesudah diberikan terapi Beapreasi. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata nilai PSQI pada kelompok eksperimen sebelum dilakukan intervensi sebesar 6.27 dan rerata  nilai PSQI pada kelompok kontrol sebesar 5.15. Selanjutnya rerata nilai PSQI pada kelompok eksperimen setelah  dilakukan intervensi sebesar 3.67, sedangkan  rerata  nilai PSQI kelompok kontrol  sebesar  5,73. Terdapat perbedaan nilai PSQI pada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol dengan nilai p 0.00, nilai p < 0.05 sehingga ada pengaruh yang bermakna dari pemberian terapi beapreasi terhadap peningkatan  kualitas tidur. Intervensi terapi Beapreasi dapat meningkatkan kualitas tidur pada lansia yang mengalami insomnia . One of the complaints of elderly sleep is Insomnia, which is a degeneration process in the elderly which causes effective sleep time to decrease, and causes inadequate quality sleep. The intervention provided can be inserted in the activities of Posbindu. One of the interventions that can be given is therapy of beapreasi. This study aims to determine whether or not there is an effect of beapreasi therapy on sleep quality in the elderly with insomnia at Posbindu Kemuning, Candirejo Village, Ungaran. The research design used was quasi experiment pre-test post-test with control group and carried out on 128 respondents divided into experimental groups and control groups, each group consisting of 64 respondents. The method used to determine respondents is purposive sampling technique. Assessment of sleep quality was measured by the PSQI questionnaire and carried out 2 measurements, namely before and after being given therapy Beapreasi. The study showed that the mean PSQI value in the experimental group before intervention was 6.27 and the mean PSQI value in the control group was 5.15. Then the mean PSQI value in the experimental group after intervention was 3.67, while the mean PSQI value of the control group was 5.73. There are differences in the PSQI values in the experimental and control groups with a value of p 0.00, the value of p <0.05 so that there is a significant effect of the provision of beapreasi therapy on improving sleep quality. Beapreasi therapy interventions can improve sleep quality in elderly who experience insomnia. Pada lansia terjadi perubahan neurologis secara fisiologis mengalami penurunan jumlah dan ukuran neuron pada sistem saraf pusat yang mengakibatkan lansia tidak dapat memenuhi kebutuhan tidur normalnya. Salah satu terapi meningkatkan kualitas tidur pada lansia adalah melakukan pijat tengkuk menggunakan virgin coconut oil . Tujuan Penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pijat tengkuk dengan VCO terhadap kualitas tidur pada lansia. Metode:Desain penelitian yang digunakan pra eksperimental dengan One-group Pretest – Posttest Design, teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah non Probability Sampling yaitu dengan purposive sampling. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu, 33 responden dan diperoleh sampel sebanyak 15 responden adapun  kriteria inklusi dalam penelitian ini klien dengan gangguan tidur tanpa menggunakan obat penenang atau obat tidur, Klien yang kooperatif dan bersedia menandatangani informed concent, kriteria eksklusi Klien yang memiliki kesadaran composmentis Pelaksanaan penelitian untuk mengukur kualitas tidur diukur dengan Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) dari. pengukuran kualitas tidur lansia dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah pelaksanaan intervensi. instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Pittsburgh sleep quality index. Intervensi pijat tengkuk dengan Virgin Coconut Oil ini dilakukan 2 kali dalam satu minggu selama 4 minggu. setelah dilakukan uji normalitas data diperoleh hasil 0,28 yang berarti data berdistribusi normal sehingga analisa menggunakan paired T-test.  Hasil:Hasil penelitian menunjukan kualitas tidur pre tes rerata kualitas tidur sebesar 7,9 dengan standar deviasi 1,4 dan post tes didapatkan rerata kualitas tidur sebesar 4,5 dengan standar deviasi 0,83. Berdasarkan analisa data menggunakan uji paired T-test diperoleh nilai p value = 0,000 <α (0.05) yang artinya ada pengaruh pijat tengkuk dengan Virgin Coconut Oil terhadap kualitas tidur pada lansia. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, diharapkan lansia dengan masalah kualitas tidur agar rutin melakukan pijat tengkuk dengan VCO  secara teratur dan berkesinambungan. One of the therapies to improve sleep quality in the elderly is to massage the neck using virgin coconut oil (VCO). This study aims to determine the effect of cervical massage with VCO on sleep quality in the elderly. The research design used was pre-experimental with One-group Pretest - Posttest Design and the number of respondents was 20 people. The results showed sleep quality before being given progressive muscle relaxation therapy obtained an average sleep quality of 7.9 with a standard deviation of 1.4 and after being given progressive muscle relaxation a mean sleep quality of 4.5 with a standard deviation of 0.83. Based on data analysis using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test, p value = 0,000 <α (0.05) is obtained, which means there is an effect of nape massage with VCO on sleep quality in the elderly. Based on the results of the study, it is expected that the elderly with sleep quality problems can routinely perform neck massage with VCO regularly and continuously.

Background: Untreated sleep quality can bring changes that can affect both physically and psychologically so that it can reduce sleep quality in menopausal women, one of the non-pharmacological management in improving sleep quality is progressive muscle relaxation by reducing muscle tension, eliminating fatigue so as to improve quality sleep in menopausal women. Objective: to determine the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation in improving sleep quality. Method: A systematic review through review of maternity nursing articles to identify the effect of progressive muscle relaxation in improving sleep quality in menopausal women. The article inclusion criteria used were the effect of progressive muscle relaxation in improving sleep quality, while the exclusion criteria ie articles were not full text. Search articles are accessed from databases, namely: Sciencedirect, Pubmed, JKI, JKD. Articles that meet the inclusion criteria are collected and examined systematically. Search for literature published from 2015 to 2018. the article search process gets 4 articles that meet the requirements for inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: in this systematic review shows that progressive muscle relaxation can improve sleep quality. Conclusion: Progressive muscle relaxation can improve sleep quality

Latar belakang; Kemoterapi memberikan dampak yang sangat buruk bagi penderita kanker serviks yang sedang menjalaninya, baik dampaik fisik hingga psikologis. Salah satu dampak psikologis dari kemoterapi adalah kecemasan. Latihan yang dapat menurunkan kecemasan pada penderita kanker serviks adalah Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) terhadap tingkat kecemasan pada pasien penderita kanker serviks yang sedang menjalani kemoterapi.Metode; Design penelitian ini adalah Quasy Experimental Pre-Post Test Design. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 40 responden dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, responden penelitian merupakan pasien dengan diagnosa kanker serviks yang sedang menjalani kemoterapi di RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta.Hasil; Data yang telah diperoleh kemudian di uji dengan Wilcoxon. Elderly experiencing problems sleeping disorders one of which is insomnia. One of the efforts to overcome insomnia is progressive muscle relaxation therapy. This study aims to analyze the effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy on insomnia in the elderly. This research was designed using Pre Experimental, one group pre-test - post-test design. Data collected through observation and interviews before. It is analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The independent variable of this study was progressive muscle relaxation therapy and the dependent variable was insomnia. The results showed there was an effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy with insomnia based on the Wilcoxon test (p = 0.004), and z score = 2.850. This study states that non-pharmacological therapy of progressive muscle relaxation therapy can be a nurse's independent action in providing nursing care to patients, especially in elderly patients who experience insomnia
