The effect of the probiotic preparation Vetom 1.2 on the basis of Bacillus subtilis VKPM B-10641, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens VKPM B-10642 and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens VKPM B-10643 in different doses on the correlation interactions between the parameters of turkey hemoglobin exchange, blood erythrocytes and blood red blood cells direct and total bilirubin, total protein and serum albumin was studies. Correlations were calculated using Spearman formula, the reliability of correlations was checked by Student. The formulation was used for turkeys once a day for 30 days in doses of 12.5; 25; fifty; 75 and 100 mg / kg body weight. It was found that Vetom 1.2 in minimal doses leads to an inverse correlation between iron and total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, total protein and albumin, an increase in the concentration of the formulation leads to the disappearance of this effect with a gradual subsequent decrease in this indicator. Vetom 1.2 in doses up to 50 mg / kg leads to an inverse correlation between the concentrations of hemoglobin and direct bilirubin, total protein and serum albumin, at a dose of 75 mg / kg there is a direct correlation between these indicators, and at a dose of 100 mg / kg returns a negative correlation. The probiotic preparation Vetom 1.2 leads to a direct dependence of the concentration of bilirubins (total and direct) in serum on the concentrations of hemoglobin and red blood cells when used in most doses, except 75 mg / kg, which reduces the correlation.

The results of clinical examination of patients of animals, collected history and conducted laboratory blood tests with determination of the number of red blood cells, leukocytes, platelets, hemoglobin, glucose, total protein, total bilirubin, activity of ALT, AST, alkaline phosphatase and α-amylase enzymes are presented in the article. The features of the course and some diagnostic aspects of pancreatitis in cats are described. According to the results of the studies and their detailed analysis, it has been established that the clinical manifestation of pancreatitis in cats has certain differences from the manifestation of this disease in other carnivores, namely dogs, and is characterized by nonspecific clinical features - inhibition, anorexia, cachexia, occasionally – vomiting. Dehydration, pallor of visible mucous membranes of the conjunctiva and skin, or, in severe cases, their jaundice, abdominal pain, fever, or hypothermia are typical for sick animals. Thus, according to the results of own research and the collected information on the clinical condition of cats, the manifestation of the disease in the form of oppression and cachexia was observed in 100% of patients, vomiting – in 10%, anorexia – in 80% of patients. In 33% of diseased animals, a fever of constant type was diagnosed to 41.6 °C, in the rest of the animals the temperature of the body was normal or at its lower limit. Laboratory tests of anemia showed anemia with a decrease in the number of red blood cells and hemoglobin to 4.6 ± 0.57 T/L and 91.7 ± 5.62 g/l, respectively. Anemia was not regenerative, confirmation of why there was no blood in sick animals of reticulocytes. As a manifestation of the compensatory possibilities of the body of sick cats for the development of pancreatitis can be considered not significantly expressed thrombocytopenia. Thus, the number of blood platelets in experimental animals was in the range of 136.8 ± 32.2 G/L, at a rate of 250–600 G/L. This can be explained by the fact that platelets are also involved in protecting the body from microorganisms and toxins, and this pathological process is accompanied by their reduction. Hyperproteinemia, hypoalbuminemia, hyperbilirubinemia, hyperglycemia, hyperbilirubinemia, and hyperfermentemia of transaminases and α-amylase were determined by biochemical blood tests in cats for pancreatitis. Therefore, in 67% of patients in cats hyperglycemia with elevated values of glucose content up to 8.9 ± 0.85 g/l was detected, indicating a violation of the endocrine function of the pancreas. In 100% of the sick animals, an increase in the total protein content was observed on average up to 86.2 ± 3.7 g/l, which can be considered as a consequence of the dehydration of the patient's body and an increase in the proportion of blood globulin. Most number of oll cats has a violation of the function of the liver. Thus, the damage to the integrity of membranes and hepatocyte cytolysis was indicative of an increase in the activity of blood serum enzymes – ALT (up to 186.3 ± 23.1 OD/L) and AST (up to 159.2 ± 31.6 OD/l). In violation of the delay in the removal of bile, the permeability of membranes of the epithelium of the biliary tract indicated an increase in the activity of alkaline phosphatase to 230.2 ± 10.5 ODP/l in 67% of cases. For other cases, it was characterized by a decrease in its activity to 9.3 ± 0.3 Od/liter, which can be explained by the development of an imbalance in the nutritional intestinal microflora, that is, the presence in the sick of cats of dysbiosis, also caused by a violation of the metabolism of vitamin C in their body. Swelling resulting from inflammation of the pancreas and tissues surrounding it has probably led to mechanical obstruction of the total bile duct, which was confirmed by an increase in the total bilirubin level to 14.2 ± 2.4 μmol/l.

The aim of the study is to increase the productive qualities of broiler chickens by including ultrafine silicon oxide into main diet. During the experiment, the biological effect of ultrafine silicon oxide on broiler chickens was estab-lished. Use of ultrafine SiO2 particles for poultry feeding contributed to an increase in the number of red blood cells and content of total protein and albumins. By the end of the experiment, the number of red blood cells in birds in-creased by 17.43% (P≤0.001) – in the blood of birds of the first experimental group, 16.51% (P≤0.01) – the second one, 20.80% (P≤0.001) – the third experimental and 21.71% (P≤0.001) – the fourth experimental group, compared with the indicator of the control group. The amount of total protein in blood serum of chickens of the first and the second experimental groups increased by 1.36-1.39 %, in the third and fourth ones there was a significant (P≤0.05) increase by 5.45 and 3.05%, respectively. The blood glucose content of chickens in the experimental groups is higher by 8.04-23.65% compared to this indicator with ones in the control group. During the experiment feed con-sumption per 1 kg gain of live weight decreased: in the first experimental group by 3.00 % in the second by – 0.50 %, the third – 6.00 % the fourth– by 4.50 %, compared to this with the control group. The chicken’s vibrancy of the first the experimental group was higher by 4.77 %, the second – by 6.20 %, the third – by 19.25 % and the fourth– by 11.59% than in the control one. Consequently, when converting the feed energy into the body energy of a broiler chicken, the energy conversion coefficient of the experimental group of poultry is higher than that of the control one by 7.16-21.76 %. Thus, the most optimal dose for further research was determined.

The aim of this study was to determine the cytotoxic effect of 3-arylidenechromanone (1) and 3arylideneflavanone (2) on HL-60 and NALM-6 cell lines (two human leukemia cell lines) and a WM-115 melanoma cell line. Both compounds exhibited high cytotoxic activity with higher cytotoxicity exerted by compound 2, for which IC50 values below 10 µM were found for each cell line. For compound 1, the IC50 values were higher than 10 µM for HL-60 and WM-115 cell lines, but IC50 < 10 µM was found for the NALM-6 cell line. Both compounds, at the concentrations close to IC50 (concentration range: 5–24 µM/L for compound 1 and 6–10 µM/L for compound 2), are not toxic towards red blood cells. The synthesized compounds were characterized using spectroscopic methods 1H- and 13C-NMR, IR, MS, elemental analysis, and X-ray diffraction. The lipophilicity of both synthesized compounds was determined using an RP-TLC method and the logP values found were compared with the theoretical ones taken from the Molinspiration Cheminformatics (miLogP) software package. The mode of binding of both compounds to human serum albumin was assessed using molecular docking methods.

In response to invasion by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the self-regulatory immune system attempts to restore the CD4+ count fluctuations. Consequently, many clinical covariates are bound to adapt too, but little is known about their corresponding new optimal set points. It has been reported that there exist few strongest clinical covariates of the CD4+ count. The objective of this study is to harness them for a streamlined application of multidimensional viewing lens (statistical models) to zoom into the behavioural patterns of the adaptive optimal set points. We further postulated that the optimal set points of some of the strongest covariates are possibly controlled by dietary conditions or otherwise to enhance the CD4+ count. This study investigated post-HIV infection (acute to therapy phases) records of 237 patients involving repeated measurements of 17 CD4+ count clinical covariates that were found to be the strongest. The overall trends showed either downwards, upwards, or irregular behaviour. Phase-specific trends were mostly different and unimaginable, with LDH and red blood cells producing the most complex CD4+ count behaviour. The approximate optimal set points for dietary-related covariates were total protein 60–100 g/L (acute phase), <85 g/L (early phase), <75 g/L (established phase), and >85 g/L (ART phase), whilst albumin approx. 30–50 g/L (acute), >45 g/L (early and established), and <37 g/L (ART). Sodium was desirable at approx. <45 mEq/L (acute and early), <132 mEq/L (established), and >134 mEq/L (ART). Overall, desirable approximates were albumin >42 g/L, total protein <75 g/L, and sodium <137 mEq/L. We conclude that the optimal set points of the strongest CD4+ count clinical covariates tended to drift and adapt to either new ranges or overlapped with the known reference ranges to positively influence the CD4+ cell counts. Recommendation for phase-specific CD4+ cell count influence in adaptation to HIV invasion includes monitoring of the strongest covariates related to dietary conditions (sodium, albumin, and total protein), tissue oxygenation (red blood cells and its haematocrit), and hormonal control (LDH and ALP).

A 57-year-old man with rheumatoid arthritis developed severe anemia during treatment with adalimumab plus methotrexate. Cold agglutinin disease was diagnosed because haptoglobin was undetectable, cold agglutinin was positive (1 : 2048), and the direct Coombs test was positive (only to complement). Although the cold agglutinin titer was normalized (1 : 64) after treatment with prednisolone (0.7 mg/kg/day for two weeks), the patient’s hemoglobin did not increase above 8 g/dL. When cold agglutinins were reexamined using red blood cells suspended in bovine serum albumin, the titer was still positive at 1 : 1024. Furthermore, the cold agglutinin had a wide thermal amplitude, since the titer was 1 : 16 at 30°C and 1 : 1 at 37°C. This suggested that the cold agglutinin would show pathogenicity even at body temperature. After the dose of prednisolone was increased to 1 mg/kg/day, the patient’s hemoglobin rapidly returned to the normal range. The thermal amplitude test using red blood cells suspended in bovine serum albumin is more sensitive than the standard test for detecting pathogenic cold agglutinins.

The extreme thinness of the pulmonary blood-gas barrier results in high mechanical stresses in the capillary wall when the capillary pressure rises during exercise. We have previously shown that, in elite cyclists, 6–8 min of maximal exercise increase blood-gas barrier permeability and result in higher concentrations of red blood cells, total protein, and leukotriene B4 in bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid compared with results in sedentary controls. To test the hypothesis that stress failure of the barrier only occurs at the highest level of exercise, we performed BAL in six healthy athletes after 1 h of exercise at 77% of maximal O2 consumption. Controls were eight normal nonathletes who did not exercise before BAL. In contrast with our previous study, we did not find higher concentrations of red blood cells, total protein, and leukotriene B4 in the exercising athletes compared with control subjects. However, higher concentrations of surfactant apoprotein A and a higher surfactant apoprotein A-to-phospholipid ratio were observed in the athletes performing prolonged exercise, compared with both the controls and the athletes from our previous study. These results suggest that, in elite athletes, the integrity of the blood-gas barrier is altered only at extreme levels of exercise.

Some hematological values, blood total protein, protein fractions, and minerals such as calcium and phosphorus of takhi, which are now being reintroduced in Khustain natural park, were measured. There were 8.3 million red blood cells and 8000 white blood cells in 1 mm3 whole blood of takhi reintroduced in Khustain natural park, and hemoglobin was 179.6±3.2 g/l. As well, total proteins, calcium and phosphorus of takhi were 67± 0.6 g/l, 2.1±0.31 mmol/l, and 1.1±0.2 mmol/l respectively and they were similar to those in Mongolian horses. The aim of the research is increasing the productive indicators of replacement sheep of different genotypes by im-proving the interior indicators. To conduct the research, three groups of ewe hoggs with 20 heads each were formed: 1 group – ewe hoggs born from stud rams and Akzhaik ewes (AKSHM x AKSHM); 2 group – ewe hoggs born from stud rams of the North Caucasian breed and Akzhaik ewes (SK x AKSHM); 3 group – ewe hoggs born from Kuibyshev stud ram breed and Akzhaik ewes (KB x AKSHM). Blood parameters, live weight at the age of 4 and 8 months, hair cut at the age of 8 months was studied of animals of these groups. It was found that blood parame-ters of the ewe hoggs of different genotypes have significant differences and these affect the indicators of growth intensity and hair cutting. The content of red blood cells and hemoglobin of ewe hoggs from group 3 was higher by 0.551012/l and 9.32 g/l, respectively, than of ones from group 1. The biochemical blood parameters of crossbred ewe hoggs from groups 3 and 2 at 4 and 8 months of age in terms of total protein by 2.84 and 4.73 g/l, glucose – by 0.86 and 1.02 mmol/l exceeded the results of purebred Akzhaik ewe hoggs. Crossbreds of groups 2 and 3 in the 8-month age were superior to their herdmates of Akzhaik breed in live weight by 3.04 and 2.74 kg, and the washed wool cut – by 0.18 and 0.24 kg, respectively.
