A telephone survey was conducted to determine design professionals' experiences and opinions of the design review process for seismic isolated buildings. Participants agreed that the review process is beneficial in concept, but the benefit can sometimes be obscured by poor implementation. Best practice recommendations include: (1) the review team should be organized and the review process should be planned at the onset of design; (2) all parties should mutually agree on the scope and level of detail of review; and (3) a process for conflict resolution should be pre-negotiated. Most of the discussion and recommendations generated by this study are applicable to design reviews in general. The specific code requirements for design review of isolated buildings were found to be in need of updating, but the concept of exempting certain structures from the review process, favored by some engineers, was not found to have widespread support.

Dermolo as one of the villages in Kembang, Jepara, was ever hit by a conflict under a religious background. This friction involved Islamic and Christian groups. The dispute between the two groups increasingly culminated and seemed to have no end without the presence of the Nation. When the Regional Government of Jepara encountered a deadlock in breaking down this social conflict, the presence of a civil society organization was absolutely necessary. Lakpesdam NU Jepara since 2014 up to now has been trying to extinguish the fire of conflict in Dermolo which was initially triggered by disputes over the use of a worship place. Through a qualitative descriptive approach by utilizing the theory of conflict resolution and multicultural education, this paper finally succeeds in mapping the four multicultural education patterns used by Lakpesdam NU. Those are economic empowerment, religious approaches, empowering women, and empowering village cadres. The result of this academic discourse at the same time provides an alternative methodological offer that can be replicated by the stakeholders of the policy makers, for example the Regional Government and the relevant Regional Apparatus Organization. It can be used as a prototype for civil society organizations and peace activists in settling disputes wrapped in religious sentiment. This kind of inclusive pattern is considered quite successful as a conflict resolution strategy. Lakpesdam NU Jepara is the only institution that has the sympathy of the residents and the Dermolo Government, because it has contributed positively in restoring social harmony between Christian and Islam groups

Debt has become commonplace to meet the needs of human life. However, because it is only a loan, it must be returned. But sometimes not everyone can do it at the agreed time. Therefore, Islam offers a solution in the form of a hawalah contract. The National Sharia Council then issued a fatwa regarding this matter to strengthen it by mentioning several hadiths as its legal basis. With qualitative methods and literature study, the authors describe the understanding that can be drawn from this hadith. Based on the research results, it was found that there were many differences of opinion in the details of the hawalah contract. Then it was also discovered that one of the hadiths that was used as a reference did not have a degree of shohih and the hadith also did not lead directly to the hawalah contract.

AbstractMural art is most likely to be able to encourage increased tourism, so that it is in line with plans to increase people's income or other matters. However, the question is the mural art which is opposed to the provisions, especially those relating to Islamic law. Clearly stated in Islamic Shari'a, released images are released that have life or spirit, such as pictures of humans and animals. However, the picture can be found on the fence and walls of the houses of the residents on the banks of Krueng Dho and Krueng Daroy, Banda Aceh City. In fact, Aceh is the only province in Indonesia that makes Islamic Sharia a legal basis for Regional Regulations. The purpose of this study is not to discuss 'trusting' these contradictions, discussing the public about mural works from an Islamic perspective and various other perspective changes. In order to achieve this goal, the study was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods. Data is collected by observation, conducting interviews - unplanned - for the community considered relevant, as well as literature study. Then the research results are built based on an analysis of the data, a presentation about the community of mural art from the perspective of Islamic law.  Keywords: Islamic sharia, murals, contradictions, receptions.
