The purpose of the article is to describe features of professional project-oriented communication in foreign experience is visibility. The methodology is based on the principles of activity, systemic, sociocultural, communicative, humanistic, process approaches. The scientific novelty is the identification of areas of projectoriented communication, the use of which is advisable in the Ukrainian experience The main directions of professional project-oriented communication in foreign experience are highlighted. The first aspect is characterized by increased professional communication through pieces of training and seminars. The second is connected with the organization of direct forms (discussions, working meetings, conferences) and indirect forms (online forms). The third aspect of project-oriented communication is aimed at learning innovative forms development through a combination of traditional, interactive principles, summer schools in order to develop the mobility of teachers and students. Within the framework of the project activity, professional meetings, discussions, information exchange, and discussion of the design process form a certain network of constant connections between developers, executives, partners, managers. Conclusions. At the international level, the leading role in professional communication is assigned to social interaction in the framework of building partnerships between libraries, representatives of library science, education, and practice. Professional project-oriented communication is based on communicative, organizational, technological, and managerial aspects. Communicative provides for the organization of training, internships, conferences, advanced training and is characterized by the development of mobility of library specialists. The organizational and technologicalaspect takes into account joint projects of a managerial direction.Key words: library, communication, project-oriented professional communication, social interaction, project activity.

The article focuses on the study of modern approaches in the typology of nursing homes. Global data on the increase in the share of older people in the total population are presented. In addition, Rosstat data confirm the relevance of studying this topic. Examples of foreign experience in designing and building homes for the elderly show the developed functional composition of the premises, along with the function of accommodation and care - health care, leisure, trade, sports, food and multifunctional spaces to ensure social interaction of different groups of the population. The research reveals a method of "functional improvement" aimed at developing optimal functional interactions between public and residential spaces. A concept project for a "dynamic" scheme has been developed, showing the inclusion of residential blocks in a multifunctional complex. The chosen functional organization allows the creation of private spaces for residents of retirement age and walking areas for visitors to the complex. It is determined that in Russia it is necessary to implement modern approaches adapted to Russian conditions, based on foreign experience. This will enhance the consumer quality of the facility and the comfort level of the elderly, which will undoubtedly provide social interaction through the introduction of educational and leisure functions, as well as improve the ecological and aesthetic qualities of the environment.

The integration of Ukraine into the world community has caused a significant increase in interest in learning foreign languages as a means of information exchange. The modern conditions of development, expansion and deepening of international contacts require a high level of foreign language proficiency from a future specialist, especially in a foreign language of professional direction. High demands to the quality of education provision for the informatization of society. The high level of proficiency in a foreign language of a professional direction allows the future specialist to compete adequately not only in the domestic labor market but also abroad. It is promoted by the informatization of the educational process. It determined the relevance of the research problem. The study aims to establish the effectiveness of informatization of the foreign languages learning process of professional communication; to bring the feasibility of using social networks, cloud messengers, educational platforms in preparing future specialists for professional communication in a foreign language environment. The research methodology uses several methods. The main method in the study is the method of pedagogical experiment, also used the method of questioning, observation, to consider the theoretical material uses descriptive method, as well as methods of synthesis and analysis. The main hypothesis of the study is that the application of the educational potential of social networks, platforms, messengers, quizzes is an effective method of training a specialist with a high level of foreign language proficiency in the professional sphere. The result of the study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of the informatization process at the level of involvement of social networks, messengers to form a high level of foreign language proficiency as per profession. In the future, it is envisaged to study the application of informatization of the educational space during the teaching of a foreign language of professional communication.

The International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) Student Consortium (SC) is a network for young professionals studying or working within the fields of photogrammetry, remote sensing, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and other related geo-spatial sciences. The main goal of the network is to provide means for information exchange for its young members and thus help promote and integrate youth into the ISPRS. Over the past four years the Student Consortium has successfully continued to fulfil its mission in both formal and informal ways. The formal means of communication of the SC are its website, newsletter, e-mail announcements and summer schools, while its informal ones are multiple social media outlets and various social activities during student related events. The newsletter is published every three to four months and provides both technical and experiential content relevant for the young people in the ISPRS. The SC has been in charge or at least has helped with organizing one or more summer schools every year. The organization's e-mail list has over 1,100 subscribers, its website hosts over 1,300 members from 100 countries across the entire globe, and its public Facebook group currently has over 4,500 joined visitors, who connect among one another and share information relevant for their professional careers. These numbers show that the Student Consortium has grown into a significant online-united community. The paper will present the organization’s on-going and past activities for the last four years, its current priorities and a strategic plan and aspirations for the future four-year period.

This article is dedicated to examination of public participation in the formation and development of extracurricular education of children in Eastern Siberia. The relevance of this research is substantiated by the importance of public sociocultural initiatives in modern Russia. The author highlights the key vectors of public innovation sociocultural activity, which included environmental education, organization of reading events and libraries for children, staging of performances, literary and musical mornings, physical education and play activities. Within the framework of these directions, the author determines their popularity, dynamics and interpretation of goals by the actors of sociocultural activity. Extracurricular education was intended for all population groups, and opened new dimensions for social interaction not only for children, but for parents as well. The research is based on the comparative methodology, and methodological ideas of V. A. Glazychev on the interpretation of city as a sociocultural phenomenon and the ability of urban community to create and maintain the conditions for its development through the efforts of all residents with the leading role of mobile innovation minority. In Eastern Siberia, the development of extracurricular educational work generally corresponded with the nationwide, but at a slower pace and smaller scale. The conclusion is made that in the provincial cities, the intelligentsia led moderate, although considerable activity on the development of applied problems of pedagogy, orienting towards the needs of a child. Overall, innovation social activity expanded the “geography of childhood” of the children involved. The public initiative filled the gap in the state system of extracurricular education and evolved to the creation of multifunctional recreation and educational centers for children.

The purpose of this article is to define the functions of the teacher as the organizer of chat communication, which has become one of the foundations of Internet communication. The leading method for the study of this problem is the method of situational modeling, which allows considering chat-communication as a process of new social interaction, requiring the leading role of the teacher-organizer, ensuring the maximum involvement of all participants-communicators in this process in order to assimilate new knowledge by the perceiver (learners). This article presents new methodological methods of teacher's work within the framework of chat-communication, defines the important functions of a teacher, who communicates knowledge in the changed socio-cultural environment. The presented methodological material is designed to help teachers of higher education to use chat-communication as a new channel of knowledge transfer from a teacher to a student to adapt to the new communicative realities, to give awareness of the continuity of the educational process, even in a situation of significant changes in conditions of its implementation.   Keywords: distance learning, higher education, internet communication, chatting, teacher functions

The article is devoted to the analysis of the activity of leading research institutions in the field of library science in Ukraine at the present stage. Using the methodological basis of the systematic approach and the content analysis method of scientific publications and open access resources, the author investigates the achievements of Ukrainian librarianship. The purpose of the article is to analyze the main directions of activity of the scientific institutions of the librarian branch in 2010s; the problems of the dissertation researches aimed at improving the activity of the library social institute; the development of professional communication through scientific events and periodicals. Among the main objects of research are the Institute of Library Science, Institute of Information Technologies and the Center for Social Communication Research of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine; Lviv National Scientific Library of Ukraine named after V. Stefanyk; State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine named after V.O. Sukhomlinsky; National Scientific Agricultural Library of NAAS of Ukraine. The article also analyzes the achievements of scientific schools of Kharkiv State Academy of Culture, Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, National University «Lviv Polytechnic». The conclusion is that the main tendencies of library investigations carried out in research centers - leading libraries and institutions of higher education of Ukraine include: the development of interdisciplinary research, in which the library as a social institute becomes an active component of public communications, global information influences; development of researches devoted to scientific and informational support of branch science (educational, agrarian) in the context of European integration and globalization processes; the librarianship investigation from the media space point of view, in particular in the system of public use of social media, or as an equal partner in its creation; increasing attention to interaction and coordinated formation of consolidated information resources of libraries, archives and museums. The study may be followed up as the study of the experience and prospects of international cooperation in the field of scientific activities, especially library science, as well as librarianship issues, which are covered in scientific communication - in professional journals, scientific forums, etc.

Consumer-opinion Web sites provide people with unparalleled opportunities to articulate their opinions on products and services, read those of others, or interact with other consumers. The success of such Web sites is limited by three challenges: the quality of contributions, users’ motivation to participate, and readers’ trust in the writer’s competence. Drawing on the concept of media richness, this article investigates how such Web sites could provide richer and more useful exchanges to both consumers and companies. The results suggest that consumer-opinion Web sites can provide richer exchanges when they separate the tasks of information exchange and social interaction and support them with appropriate levels of richness.

PurposeThe aim of this paper is to investigate the use of Web 2.0 tools and their use by Greek library science and information systems (LSIS) students; to study to what extent students use these tools both in everyday life and in relation to their studies.Design/methodology/approachA web‐based questionnaire was distributed to students of the LSIS Department at the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece; 240 (25.5 per cent) students of a total population of 958 responded. The paper presents students' knowledge concerning Web 2.0 tools, their use and understanding of such tools, and to draw conclusions regarding the penetration of such tools into their everyday life.FindingsThe research found that although most of the students have heard of the term Web 2.0 and its tools, further knowledge of the subject is limited. This lack of knowledge was apparent in the poor ways that students exploited Web 2.0 features. The questionnaire, which was divided into two sections, examined the knowledge and use of Web 2.0 tools by students, and further explored the use of Web 2.0 tools in the educational process. It is hoped that the results of this study will provide insightful information to the Greek LIS community in order to better understand students' behaviour, with a view to encouraging the incorporation of new elements into the curriculum with regard to Web 2.0.Practical implicationsThe research suggests that the knowledge and implementation of Web 2.0 should begin in the LIS schools to prepare future library staff for the new challenges ahead. The Greek LIS research community has so far largely overlooked students' use of Web 2.0Originality/valueThe paper highlights that Web 2.0 is playing a leading role in library science.
