Sexual harassment is still considered irrelevant to voice, let alone to fight for. People tend to put more concerns on family honor, and even consider sexual harassment as a shameful act and degrading their family’s name. Apart from at home, sexual harassment also often occurs in public places—public transportation, workplaces, schools, and other public facilities. Saling Jaga is a forum that voices concerns on sexual harassment that occurs in public spaces, and is the result of a collaboration amongst 3 undergraduate programs, (1) Law, (2) Communication Studies, and (3) Visual Communication Design, at President University. Saling Jaga forms a team that is hailed as Guardians. The purpose of this movement is to raise the awareness of everyone who witnesses sexual harassment in public places and has the courage to look after each other (bystander intervention) through activities in the form of socialization on Instagram social media, exhibition installations, and seminars to secondary schools in Kuningan.

Covid-19, a type of the corona virus family, spread from Wuhan, China to the whole world in December 2019 and turned into a pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic, which threatens the whole world, has caused negative situations in the health, education, industry and many other areas of the countries. Since there is no medicine or vaccine to cure this disease (pandemic) yet, experts in the business focus on drug and vaccine development studies, while country governments are making an intense effort to slow down and eliminate its spread. All kinds of platforms and alternatives should be used effectively in the fight against Covid-19. Visual media studies constitute the most important pillar of the struggle for this purpose. It is of great importance to create awareness in people with communication studies prepared in the fight against the disease. In today's intense information abundance and pollution, it is not easy to get the necessary attention from a large part of the society. It is observed that the sensitivity of the society towards these studies (news, articles, posters, etc.) at the beginning decreased significantly over time and started to lose its effect to a great extent. The job of a visual communication designer is getting harder every day in studies related to the pandemic as well as in other subjects. In order to attract the attention of the audience, it is a necessity to go beyond the known design elements and the same style of expression and prepare them in different structures. In the article, the common design elements used from randomly selected samples among different visual communication studies were categorically classified and defined. Since these definitions and classifications are made with a personal point of view, they are open to all kinds of criticism and interpretation. Keywords: Covid-19, visual elements, visual communication, design

The large number of sexual harassments that occur in society is caused by theabsence of legal certainty that has been accepted by the perpetrators. One form of verbal sexual harassment is catcalling, most of the victims are women. Catcalling is carried out in public spaces such as public roads, public transportation, markets and even workplaces. The impact of catcalling is very bad because it will affect his psyche which can be seen from a psychological, emotional, anxious, fearful and uncomfortable feeling that can even lead to depression. Sanctions for Catcalling Actors in Indonesia are regulated in this Article, namely Article 281 Paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code, Article 8, Article 9, Article 34, Article 35 of the Law on Pornography. There are several basic reasons why the Pornography Law was used as a legal basis for catcalling, namely the definition of pornography as contained in Article 1 Number 1 General Provisions of Act of Number 44 Year 2008 concerning Pornography. The state is expected to be able to protect its citizens from catcalling by providing legal certainty, so that the perpetrators will no longer repeat or even commit the act. This study reported that the Regulation of the State Minister for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Number 11 of 2011 concerning Child-Friendly City Development has been executed through the equipment of public facilities for children in the Lhokseumawe city, Aceh Province. However, this program has not effectively been implemented and well-designed. Numerous obstacles are found such as a lack of friendly public spaces supported for children and no restrictions on smoking in public places. Therefore, the improvement and evaluation for the Child-Friendly City Development are needed in the city. This study suggests that the local government should immediately issue a policy on providing free certificates for children and building friendly public spaces. Another effort is to encourage society to actively participated in the program through campaigning the Child-Friendly City Development program. The authors also suggested that if the city is planned to be expanded into a friendly city for children, the local government must fulfill supported public facilities such as schools, libraries, playgrounds, and so on. All facilities must also meet the safety and comfort for children, and be safe from child abuse (e.g., violence, discrimination, racism, sexual abuse, and excessive exposure to children's data).

Abstract Background Face masks have been employed in the COVID-19 pandemic plans as a public and personal health control measure against the spread of SARS-CoV-2. In Poland, obligatory wearing of masks in public spaces was introduced on April 10th, 2020; a relaxation of previous universal measures was announced on May 29th, 2020, limiting use to indoor public places. Objective To assess use of masks or other protective devices in public spaces in Poland during the SARS-Cov-2 epidemic. Methods A non-participatory covert observational study was conducted on three dates, (10.05/18.05/25.05.2020) at public spaces in 13 regions with different risks. Ten consecutive individuals were observed by each of 82 medical students (n = 2460 observations), using a structured checklist. Results Among 2353 observed persons, the female/male ratios were 1.0, 1.1, and 1.0 on the three dates. Almost three quarters - 73.6% (n = 552/750) were using masks on date 1, 66.5% (544/818) on date 2; and 65.7% (516/785) on date 3. Cloth masks predominated on all dates (64.7–62.3%-62.6%), followed by medical (23.4–28.5%-26.9%). Being female (OR = 1.77–1.47-1.53 respectively) and location in a closed space (OR = 2.60–2.59-2.32) were each associated with higher usage. Participants in sports were about two times less likely to use masks (OR = 0.64–0.53-0.53) as compared to other activities. The proportion using masks correctly decreased gradually over time (364/552; 65.9%; 339/544; 62.3% and 304/516; 58.9%). More females wore masks correctly (date 1: 205/294; 69.7% vs 159/258; 61.6%, and date 3: 186/284; 65.5% vs 118/232; 50.9%; p = 0.045; p = 0.0008 respectively). Uncovered noses (47.3–52.7%) and masks around the neck (39.2–42.6%) were the most frequent incorrect practices. Conclusions Practices were not in line with official recommendations, especially among males, and deteriorated over time. Cloth masks were predominantly used in public spaces. Health promotion, through utilizing all available communication channels, would be helpful to increase compliance.
