Abstract Purpose: This article aims to describe English learning in the Covid-19 Pandemic Era. This article also explains the importance of the Internet in the learning process and the importance of parents in the development of students in the Covid-19 Pandemic Era. Research methodology: This study used a descriptive method. Results: This study suggests that parents should motivate their children in this situation because the learning process is carried out at home, and only parents can directly monitor the learning process. Limitations: This study has limitations. It is the information of parents who guide their students in the learning process, especially English Subject in the Covid-19 pandemic. Contribution: The study is beneficial for teachers and parents to conduct a better learning strategy during Covid -19 pandemic.

Workshops and seminars in the field of education has been widely implemented , but it is still rarely discussed in detail about creating instructional media . In addition , observations of teachers' competence of MGMP Madrasah Tsanawiah Kabupaten Madiun , it can be said that the competence of most teachers are still weak . Most teachers still have many obstacles in achieving the learning objectives. This condition as a background of this teachers' training on making attractive and long lasting media. The success of this program will be seen from (1) the existence of a positive change in attitude and a new understanding of teachers that English learning process can be more fun with the learning media ; (2) the emergence of understanding of the various media that attractive and long lasting in English subject ; and (3) the emergence of innovations in the application of learning media in the classroom

This research applies descriptive qualitative method aiming at knowing the format and model as well as the motivating and resisting power of English learning at Tamirul Islam Male Boarding School Surakarta. From observations and interviews, it is found that there is as direct learning strategy using teacher-centered approach. This learning strategy is even more detailed by the army method learning model which emphasizes high discipline and teacher authority as well as direct method which stresses on the teacher instructions. The learning model of the school follows behavioristic patterns that emphasizes on customization in language skills. It is combined with army method patterns that treat students with rewards and punishments. The motivating power of the English learning process at the boarding house is the availability of facilities, biah lughowiyah or the environment that supports the students to be able to speak and write in English. Meanwhile, the ressisting factor is the ignorance of most students toward the punishments given by the authority.

Mechanical students need material in English subject that relevant with their department. However, most of the teachersused the materials that are general English to teach English in the mechanical department. Thus, in this research the writer did it toknow the students’ need. In this research, the samples are the students in the mechanical metal department. There are two classeswhich are 45 students. The writer took 15 students through technique sampling is sample random sampling. The instrument thatwriter used to take the data is questionnaires through open – ended questions. The students need in learning English can be seen inthree aspects: necessities, lacks, and wants. The first aspect is necessity, the finding is the students need English materials that are easyto be understood by them. They need the words of the text which are simple and easy to be understood. The second aspect is lack thatthe students’ lacks are they have fewer vocabularies, so they are difficult to understand the texts. The last aspect is wants; they wantto have fluency in speaking so they need to have more activities in speaking skill. Otherwise, the teacher rarely gave speaking skill inteaching and learning process. Thus, the teachers need to know what are the students need to be learned in their departments.

Various sectors have been affected by the Covid-l9 pandemic, including education. Many institutions have not yet applied face-to-face learning in full to prevent the transmission of the virus. The aims of this study are (1) to examine the motivation of EAP learners to learn IELTS in online and offline classes during a pandemic on an English course, and (2) to identify changes in student motivation during the learning process that are affected by the pandemic situation. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a sampling technique in which students are sampled randomly. As many as 10 students have been taken as participants. Furthermore, a questionnaire has been used as a data collection method, and it has been shared through Google Forms. It consists of 25 statements divided based on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The result of it has been classified based on four learning motivation aspects by Gowing’s theory. Overall, the findings revealed that three of the four aspects of learning motivation are medium-level (49,4%) in this case. In conclusion, there is no substantial motivation for EAP pupils in the English learning process, specifically for IELTS in online and offline sessions, for an ongoing pandemic.

Abstrak: Dalam masa pandemic COVID-19 saat ini merujuk pada kebijakan Mendikbud untuk penyelenggaraan kegiatan pembelajaran masih tetap menggunakan school from home (SCH) mulai dari tingkat pendidikan dasar sampai pada perguruan tinggi mengakbiatkan perubahan dalam system penyelenggaraan pembelajaran.  Pola pendidikan dan pengajaran pada tingkat pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD) dan Taman Kanak-Kanak (TK) mengalami perubahan dalam aspek strategi dan media pembelajaran dari para guru kepada siswa, sehingga pola belajar harus dibuat sedemikian rupa agar tetap memberikan rasa nyaman, menyenangkan dan sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran di sekolah TK di Kotamadya Depok.  Kendala yang ditemukan dalam proses pembelajaran ini adalah media teknologi informasi serta bentuk komunikasi yang tetap mudah dan menarik untuk disampaikan kepada siswa yang tetap belajar di rumah.  Masalah dalam pengabdian ini adalah bagaimana pemanfaatan media teknologi informasi sebagai media pembelajaran yang dapat diakses dengan mudah oleh siswa di rumah, serta perlu peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi para guru TK dalam pembelajaran. Dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini ada dua mitra yang terlibat, yaitu: TK Islam Al Yazid dan TK Aisyiah Bustanul Atfhal 14, Sawangan, Depok. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada peserta, dengan metode diskusi, tanya jawab dan latihan. Hasil dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah peserta telah mampu menggunakan media pembelajaran online seperti zoom meeting, whats app, menyampaikan materi dengan menarik, memparaktekkan komunikasi secara interaktif sehingga proses belajar mengajar secara online oleh guru tetap memberikan rasa nyaman, kreatif dan menyenangkan siswa.Abstract: In the current COVID-19 pandemic, referring to the Ministry of Education and Culture's policy for implementing learning activities and learning delivery system still using school from home (SCH) that applies from the basic education level to tertiary institutions. Education and teaching patterns at the early childhood education (PAUD) and Kindergarten (TK) levels have changed in the aspects of strategies and learning media from teachers to students and impact of this situation is patterns must be made in such a way of teaching and learning provide a sense of comfort, fun and creative to fulfill the learning objectives in kindergarten schools in Depok Municipality. The constraints found in this learning process are information technology media and forms of communication that remain easy and interesting to convey to students who are still studying at home. The problem in this service is how to use information technology media as a learning strategy that can be accessed easily by students at home, and also need to improve the communication skills of kindergarten teachers in learning. In this community service there are two partners involved, such as: TK Islam Al Yazid and TK Aisyiah Bustanul Atfhal 14, both of two schools located in Sawangan, Depok. The method used in this community service is training and mentoring to participants, with methods of discussion, question and answer and exercises. The result of this community service is that participants have been able to use online learning media such as zoom meetings, whats app, to delivery all the material attractively, practice interactive communication, so that the online teaching and learning process by the teacher still provides a sense of comfort, creativity and fun for students.

This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the revitalization program for Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran Teacher's Deliberation of Course of Study (MGMP) as a medium to improve English teacher competency. The objectives of this study are (1) Analyzing the reaction of each participant to the English Subject Teacher Consultation activity in Pidie District. (2) Explain knowledge and skills regarding the theoretical and philosophical foundations of English subjects after participating in the English Subject Teacher Consultation activities in the Pidie District. (3) Analyze the motivation of each participant in the English Subject Teacher Meeting to transfer knowledge and skills into the English learning process. (4) Analyzing the impact of the activities of the English Subject Teachers Conference on the development of English teacher competencies in Pidie District. The research method applied in this study is evaluative research based on (Arikunto 2007: 222) evaluative research can be interpreted as a process carried out in order to determine policy by first considering the positive values and benefits of a program, as well as considering the processes and techniques that have been used to do a research. The results showed that each participant's positive reaction to the implementation of the program could significantly influence the increase in knowledge and skills for each participant / program participant in relation to the philosophical and theoretical basis of learning English in secondary schools. However, increasing knowledge and skills did not always have an impact significant at the practical level, namely the quality of the learning process carried out by teachers, participants in the MGMP revitalization program, in the classroom. Teachers still tend to use conventional patterns in the process of learning English. . In general, the implementation of the MGMP revitalization program has been able to improve the participants' knowledge and skills discourse on the philosophical and theoretical foundations of English learning. The obstacle that arises then is the lack of motivation of some participants to apply knowledge and skills in the context of their performance. The lack of motivation to apply this knowledge and skills has resulted in learning practices that have not changed much. This shows that the forum has not been able to effectively and optimally carry out its role and function as a means for the development and development of teaching professionalism.

This research aims to know the perspective of Islamic students about English subject. It reveals the questions such as: 1) what is the perspective of Islamic studies students towards English Subject in State Islamic Institute Pontianak?, 2) how does English learning process help Islamic studies students in State Islamic Institute Pontianak enrich their field study knowledge?. The research used mixed method. To answers the first research question, survey was used as research method, and questioner was used as instrument. Meanwhile, to answer the second research question, qualitative approach was chosen as method to gain answer. Interview was used as data collecting technique. The finding found that Islamic education students had positive perception dealing with the importance of learning English. The result also showed that English learning process on most of students’ perspective had not been effective and it did not give much contribution in increasing students’ English ability which deals with their disciplines. In conclusion, positive perception of students about the importance of learning English was not facilitated enough by learning process. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan Kuis Kihajar 2013 terutama dari aspek: karakteristik Kuis Kihajar dan proses pembelajaran dalam Kuis Kihajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap pelaksanaan Kuis Kihajar 2013 pada Juli s.d. Oktober 2013. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui data sekunder serta pengamatan dan wawancara terhadap pengelola dan peserta Kuis. Hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa karakteristik Kuis Kihajar sangat menarik karena setiap bulannya tidak hanya menambah peserta baru tetapi lebih dari setengahnya peserta lama tetap setia mengikuti kuis ini. Peserta kuis tidak sekedar membuka web atau mengirim sms, tetapi mengerjakan soal hingga rata-rata mencapai 44 soal setiap kali mengaksesnya. Proses pembelajaran dalam Kuis Kihajar, antara lain: mudah, menyenangkan, menuntut penggunaan berbagai sumber belajar, fleksibel, serta menggunakan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (televisi, SMS, dan internet) yang sesuai dengan tren tuntutan zaman. Model Kuis Kihajar juga secara bertahap dapat mendorong terwujudnya budaya baru dalam memanfaatkan TIK sebagai media pembelajaran guna meningkatkan kemampuan dan kualitas hidup.This study aimed to determine the implementation of Kihajar Quiz 2013 mainly from aspects: characteristics and the learning process. This study used a descriptive method. Research conducted on the implementation of Kihajar Quiz from July 2013 until October 2013. Data collected through secondary data as well as observations and interviews with organizers and quiz participants. The analysis of the data found that the characteristics Kihajar Quiz very interesting because every month not only add new participants but more than half of the previous participants remained faithful with the quiz. Participants do not just open a web quiz or sent sms, but work on the problems to reach an average of 44 questions each access. The learning process in Kihajar Quiz, among others: easy, fun, demanding the use of a variety of learning resources, fleksibel, as well as the use of information and communication technologies (television, SMS, and internet) in accordance with the trend of the demands of the times. Kihajar Quiz Model gradually promote the establishment of a new culture in is using ICT as a learning medium to improve the ability and quality of life.

Abstract Purpose: In this Covid-19 pandemic phase, all teaching and learning process is done by online learning. Online learning is one way the Indonesian government saves the education keep run well because all learning activities are done at home. However, the effect of this activity makes the students shocked. Not only the students but also the parents and the teacher feel the culture shock because of online learning: many advantages and disadvantages to online learning for students. This study gives some solutions for every challenge from online learning in the Covid-19 pandemic. Research methodology: This is a review paper. Results: This article elaborates on the psychological impact of online learning on students. Limitations: This study only tells about the culture shock of online learning for students, teachers, and parents. Contribution: This article can be helpful for school in adding information about the culture shock of online learning and how to solve it.

This article discussed Blended Learning after the flourished utilization of Learning Management System (LMS) in English classrooms.  LMS is found to be one of the efficient digital tools in delivering the content learning, especially English subject. Almost all language skills can be exploited by LMS. It provides English learning both synchronous and asynchronous modes; which meet the purpose of personalized learning. However, there still could be found that LMS has been mistakenly used and created blended learning becomes inefficient learning strategy in the classroom, mostly in face to face meetings. To tackle the problems, this paper attempts to propose the concept of face to face interactions in blended learning classroom. It will be seen from LMS’s ability in the classroom, characteristics of Generation Z students, and the demand of 21st century skills for future workforce.
