scholarly journals Diagnostics of the Competitive Environment in the Animal Husbandry Products Market

The article examines the current state of development of the animal husbandry industry in Ukraine and investigates the degree of seller concentration in the meat and dairy market. Diagnostics of the competitive environment in the animal husbandry products market was carried out and the main factors that exert a direct impact on ensuring competitive production of the aforementioned products were studied. It was established that the development of the industry is characterized by volatility and alternating periods of unprofitability and low profitability, which is caused by a combination of technological and economic factors. It was proved that crisis phenomena in the animal husbandry industry are caused by the decrease in investment attractiveness, lack of economic interest in manufacturing products; imperfect economic regulation of the development of the industry by the government; deterioration of the logistical status of agricultural enterprises. It was substantiated that the reduction in the number of small producers strengthens the position of high-tech enterprises, which leads to an increase in the quality of manufactured products and enhances their competitiveness.

Abstract The article considers the current state of small and medium-sized businesses in rural areas of the Trans-Baikal Territory. In the region, the largest share of agricultural products produced falls on the personal subsidiary farms, while there is a destruction of large-scale commodity production, evidenced by a decrease in the number of agricultural enterprises and organizations. Presently, the Government of the Trans-Baikal Territory is interested in transforming personal subsidiary farms into the status of peasant farms, since they are able to ensure more efficient functioning of small forms of farms. Special attention is paid to the state support of small farms in the region. In the course of the study, the problems of the effectiveness of the use of state support for small forms of management were identified. The priority direction of state support is grant subsidization of peasant farms, while the distribution of grants in the context of municipal districts of the region is uneven. In general, the mechanism of grant support for peasant farms is effective only for areas of the region where animal husbandry traditionally constitutes the basis of agriculture. There are also problems associated with excessive requirements for obtaining grants and insufficient consulting assistance from potential grantees.

The development of the agricultural sector, like any other sector of the economy, depends significantly on funding. Insufficient funding is holding back a significant increase in the efficiency of agro-industrial enterprises. Information on the importance of agricultural enterprises in the development of Ukraine's economy is given. The article analyzes the results of the budget program PCECC 1201150 "Financial support of agricultural producers" in 2020, the current state and trends in lending to agricultural enterprises. Analyzing the attraction of soft loans by businesses in the agro-industrial complex in 2020, it was found that most agricultural enterprises need funds to replenish working capital, and long-term loans are in demand due to the need to upgrade fixed assets and construction and reconstruction of production facilities. Some programs confirm that the priority areas of state support for agricultural producers in 2021, as in previous years, are the development of animal husbandry, horticulture, farming, as well as cheaper loans and purchase of agricultural machinery. The results of the state program "Affordable loans 5-7-9%" are presented, according to which agricultural enterprises received almost half of the total amount of loans issued. The specific features of the agro-industrial complex presented in the article are the factors holding back their lending, so we believe that it would be appropriate to consider the creation of a specialized agricultural bank that would lend to small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises. The services of commercial banks that they offer for enterprises in the agricultural sector are analyzed. The variety of services and programs is due to the desire of banks to attract as large a range of enterprises in the agricultural sector to provide them with funds for further development.

Abstract The article deals with the influence of technologies for carrying out transport operations in the preparation of rough feed (hay, as well as valuable varieties of straw) on their quality and efficiency indicators of the entire technological process. To improve the quality of these operations, a combined transport technology has been proposed. During its development and research, the methods of simulation modeling, experiment planning and correlation-regression analysis were used. Regression equations were obtained in the form of the Cobb-Douglas function. The proposed innovative technology for combined transport of forage has proven its effectiveness during production tests in private conditions of agricultural enterprises. Evaluation of economic efficiency through the cost of transporting one ton showed an effect of 7-15%, depending on the quantitative and brand composition of the complex. This technology makes it possible to increase the efficiency of forage procurement, which affects the efficiency of animal husbandry and food security of the country.

The adoption by the Government of Ukraine of a number of programs to increase natural gas production necessitated the renewal of the technical base of Ukrgazvydobuvannya, which was morally and technically obsolete. The article examines the current state of technical support of Ukrgazvydobuvannya, which allowed us to conclude that its technological dependence on imported machinery and equipment, mainly Chinese production. It is emphasized that the tender and procurement policy pursued by Ukrgazvydobuvannya creates unequal conditions for domestic and foreign manufacturers of machinery and equipment for the gas industry. As a result of such a policy, the industry's dependence on imported machinery and equipment increases, which leads to a decrease in its level of competitiveness. The study found that the reason for this is the lack of certificates of quality of American Petroleum Machinery and Equipment of the American Petroleum Institute (API), due to the problems of its adaptation to the conditions of Ukraine. The article identifies that the main problems associated with the adaptation of API certificates are: the lack of official translations into Ukrainian of the standards of the American Petroleum Institute (API) and English-Ukrainian dictionary for professionals in the field of oil and gas engineering, differences in structure and requirements API and GOST, the lack of Ukrainian engineering companies, detailed information on the long-term needs of "Ukrgazvydobuvannya" in technical products. The article provides proposals for the development of measures that will facilitate the adaptation of international quality certificates to modern conditions of Ukraine. This will help direct the demand of gas companies towards the domestic market of machine-building products. The implementation of these measures will bring the industry engineering complex out of technological stagnation, increase its competitiveness and move away from high dependence on imported supplies of machinery and equipment.

The paper describes the current state of the livestock industry and the problems that accompany it. The volumes of cultivation and sale for slaughter of farm animals, as well as the volumes of production of milk, eggs, wool, honey are analyzed. Significant structural changes during 2000-2019 in meat production by agricultural enterprises were revealed. The clustering of regions of Ukraine under similar conditions of development of the enterprises of the agricultural sector specializing in animal husbandry is carried out. According to the results of the analysis, 4 clusters were identified, which gave rise to the possibility of forming (developing) joint effective organizational and economic mechanisms to intensify the development of livestock enterprises, favorable for implementation within the cluster. Sustainable development of agriculture, including livestock, is essential to reduce poverty and ensure food security and nutrition, designed to meet the growing demand of the world's growing population for safe and guaranteed affordable food of animal origin, which is grown in compliance with increasingly stringent requirements, while protecting the environment. In the process of this study, attention is focused on the development trends of enterprises specializing in animal husbandry. The current state of the livestock industry is characterized by a number of problems, manifested in the following: – imbalance in the development of the agricultural sector: livestock significantly lags behind in terms of development compared to the crop sector; – low level of commodity production: the share of households in the production of livestock products, especially in the livestock sector, remains decisive; – low investment attractiveness: high cost of money in combination with a long payback period constrains investment in the development of the industry; – Insufficient level of consumption: consumption of meat and dairy products per 1 person is lower than reasonable norms; – a threatening epizootic situation: the spread of African swine fever threatens the entire pig industry. The application of multifactor statistical (cluster) analysis made it possible to group the regions of Ukraine under similar conditions for the development of agricultural enterprises specializing in animal husbandry. This provides opportunities for the formation (development) of joint effective organizational and economic mechanisms to enhance the development of livestock enterprises, favorable for implementation within each cluster (subject to the specifics of each region).
