The present study is on social provision and self-esteem among adolescents with 100 adolescents (50 males and 50 females) from Aizawl town serving as participants. The study was carried out using two psychological test - The Self Esteem Scale and The Social Provision scale. The age of the subjects ranges from 13 to 17 years, from low to high socio-economic status. The result shows the tests to be reliable and significant gender difference was found in self-esteem but not on social provision. Lastly and unexpectedly, the result shows negative relationship between social provision and self-esteem.

This study aims to determine the relationship between self esteem with social anxiety. The subjects of this study were 115 adolescents in low socioeconomic status of Lingkungan VIII Belawan I, kecamatan Medan-Belawan. Datas were obtained from scales used to measure self esteem and social anxiety. Calculations were performed by testing the analysis requirements (assumption) that consisted of tests for normality and linearity. The data were analyzed using Product Moment Correlation with SPSS 17 for Windows. The results of the data analysis showed that the correlation coefficient was - 0.595 with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). It showed that there is a negative relationship between self esteem and social anxiety. The results of this study indicate that the contributions made by the variable of self esteem on social anxiety was 35.5 percent, while the remaining 64.5 percent was influenced by other factors that were not examined. From these results, it is concluded that the hypothesis, which stated that there is a negative relationship between the self esteem and social anxiety, is acceptable.

Socio-economic status of the elderly is the seat of the family in society, self-esteem is a picture of myself to hang out with the neighborhood to have a confident, independent attitude. This research aims to find out: 1) if there is a relationship between socio-economic status of the elderly against self-esteem children ages 5-6 years; 2) how the relationship between socio-economic status of the elderly against self-esteem children aged 5-6 years. The design of this study using sequential explanatory design. Participants in the study are a group of B-3 X TK Puwakarta that add up to 24 children and the elderly. Data collection techniques using question form, observation, and documentation. Data analysis in this study uses two meteode research kuantitaif further qualitative analytical techniques descriptive statistics and correlation of analissi engineering product moment correlation test hypotheses of social economic status of the elderly against self-esteem. <br />The results of this research are: 1) there was no relationship between socio-economic status of the elderly against self-esteem children ages 5-6 years since rxy (24) =-0.036 rxy &lt; 0.2 this indicates that there is a negative relationship between socio-economic status of the elderly with self-esteem; 2) socio-economic status of the elderly do not touch against the self-esteem children ages 5-6 years 5-6 years of age because the child has low self-esteem and high self arises from a child because looking at him to be able to have a confident, independent, and spirit learn.<br />Key Words: Socio-Economic Status Of Parents, Self-esteem

This study is based on Kamalamai Municipality, Sindhuli District. There are 56 households of Dalit (Damai 29 and Kami 27) in this area. The census method was used in the study where, total population is 365 from 56 households. Among them, 172 were male and 193 were female. The general objectives of this study are to identify demographic and socio-economic status of Dalits and to find out causes of deprivation of Dalits people in the community. They worked as agricultural labour and service work. Their income is less than their expenditure. Most of them are uneducated but nowadays, the level of education has increased so that their children go to school and college. Only 39 percent were literate and only 7 percent Dalits have passed SLC and +2. They give priority on arrange marriage. Youth generation doesn't like the traditional occupation and skills. They use a lot of alcohol (Jaad and Raski) in the festivals and rituals ceremony however the economic condition of Dalit is poor so many children of them are forced to dropout from schools because their parents cannot afford their education fees. The social status of the females in the Dalit community is very low than the males in the society. After the father's death all the properties is transferred to the son. The main causes for degrading status of Dalits are due to poverty, lack of education and lack of social awareness. So far, there have not been any kinds of policies and plans to uplift the Dalit community in this area.

The Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale was used to measure the self-esteem of 109 14- and l6-yr.-old (±6 mo.) girls. The self-esteem scores were categorized by economic status, race, and area of residence. For urban girls mean self-esteem of upper economic status subjects was significantly higher than that of those at the lower economic status. The self-esteem of upper economic status urban girls was significantly higher than the self-esteem of their rural peers. Finally, the self-esteem of the urban black girls was significantly higher than the self-esteem of the urban white girls.

Background: Diabetes is one of the major health problems worldwide that can be effectively managed by good self-care activities like medication adherence, exercise, monitoring of blood glucose, foot care and diet. Objectives: The study assessed the self-care activities of diabetic patients using summary of diabetes self-care activities scale (SDSCA) and the variables (Age, gender, educational level, socioeconomic status (SES)) associated with it. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was undertaken in 400 Type 2 diabetic patients. Self-care practices of the patients were evaluated by using SDSCA and correlation with variables were determined statistically. Results: Among 400 diabetic patients about 215 (53.75%) had an average score of self-care. Self-care was poor in 184 (46%) subjects, and only 1 subject (0.25%) scored good. Blood sugar monitoring was the highest (100%) followed by medication adherence (92.75%) whereas inadequate levels of self-care were reported in foot care (1.5%), and physical activity (31.5%) domains. A significant positive correlation was found between self-care practices and socio-demographic variables such as age (r=0.298, p=0.000), income (r=0.490, p=0.000) occupation (r=0.433, p=0.000), education (r=0.582, p=0.000), and Socio-Economic status (r=0.599, p=0.000). Conclusion: The study revealed higher level of adherence to self-care activities in terms of blood sugar monitoring and medication taking behaviour in the current setting, but self-care in other domains such as foot care is critically low. Age, education and Socio-Economic status seems to affect the self-care practice by the patients. Socioeconomic status of person has an important role to child development. Social economy can affect physical health, mental wellbeing and cognitive development. One of the growing disorders of attention disorder and hyperactivity disorder was characterized by hyperactive, impulsive and lack of attention. The purpose of this study to determine the relationship of socioeconomic status of parents at risk of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to preschoolers in Klaten District. This study uses categorical comparative design with cross sectional approach. Respondents of this study were 84, that divided into two places, there were ABA TK Lor Sabrang Trucuk and TKIT Mutiara Hati so that every kindergarten 42 respondents obtained by purposive sampling. Data was collection by filling the instrument. Bivariate  analysis using test Chi Square. The results showed the average age of respondents were 5.25 years. The sex of the respondents is mostly male as many as 47 children or 56.0%. Test results Chi square show there is a relationship of socio-economic status of parents with ADHD (p = 0.036) and there is a different between low socioeconomic status and high that lower socioeconomic status is a risk of ADHD (25,6%) compared with high socioeconomic status (6,7%). There is a negative relationship between socioeconomic status and the risk of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder in pre-school age children.

The condition of Indonesia is currently being faced by the corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic 2019. The importance of solutions related to the existence of the role of teachers or educators to provide references such as social support to students in learning and teaching activities from home, this study conducted to provide research tools or instruments that can be used by educators or researchers by testing the validity of a social support construct (Social Provision Scale) measuring instrument using the Rasch Model. Although much has been done to test the validity of the Social Provision Scale, no one has examined it by involving social support in the context of Education. Likewise, the majority of research on social support uses confirmatory factor analysis, and no one has used the Rasch Model in validating the Social Provision Scale instrument, especially in Indonesia. The data used are secondary data from Putra of 326 people in SMA Negeri 29 South Jakarta using cluster sampling. The results of the application of the Rasch Rating Scale model show that the psychometric characteristics of the Social Provision Scale are very good and precise, as well as the compatibility of the items to the model. Implications and suggestions for future research are also discussed.

People continue to believe in the efficacy of magic in the era of science and technology. Mythology pertaining to curative aspect of magic which is believed to solve the social, economic and medical problems of the people. Initially, a socio-economic survey of the households was conducted in Rawalpindi at Dhok Ratta and Dhok Khabba, which tapped 796 households. Later, 44 people who confessed using magic were interviewed with the help of an interview guide and participant observation at the aastaanas of the aamils. Mostly people who believed in the magical practices were inflicted with health, domestic, social and economic problems and sought magical cure as a last resort. The efficacy of magic is determined by socio-economic status, sex, marital status and education of the people rather than their belief in religion and fatalism.

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo describir, analizar y comparar la autoestima y las habilidades sociales de un grupo de jóvenes, entre 17 y 24 años de edad, consumidores de drogas que se encuentran realizando tratamiento en la comunidad terapéutica Aylén (Argentina). Es una investigación de tipo descriptiva comparativa, con un diseño de diferencias entre grupos (G1, grupo de admisión) y (G2, grupo de reinserción social). La muestra estuvo conformada por 54 sujetos (25 para grupo de admisión y 29 para el grupo de reinserción social). Los instrumentos utilizados fueron el inventario de Autoestima de Barksdale y la Escala de Habilidades sociales de Goldstein, las cuales fueron adaptadas y validadas para ser aplicadas a la población de estudio. Asimismo, a partir de los procedimientos de validación de estos instrumentos se propusieron para cada uno, nuevos agrupamientos de factores. Los resultados mostraron, bajos niveles de autoestima para ambos grupos y entre niveles bajos y normales de habilidades sociales en cada una de las categorías componentes y el total. Finalmente, no se confirmaron las hipótesis de diferencias significativas en los niveles de autoestima y los niveles de habilidades sociales entre los jóvenes en etapa de admisión y los jóvenes en etapa de reinserción social. AbstractThe objective of the present investigation is to analyze and compare the socials skills and the self-esteem of a group of juveniles between the ages of 17 and 24 years, drug addicts, both under medical treatment in a Community center in Argentina. This is a comparative-descriptive study, with the design of two groups: G1 for admission group and G2 for the reinsertion group. The sample was made of a group of 56 people, 25 for the admission group and 29 for the social reinsertion group. The instruments used were the Goldstein Social Skills Scale and the Self-Esteem Inventory from Barksdale, that were adapted for the use in such case. Also for the use of such instruments, new validation measures were implemented in the selection of the variables. The results showed low levels of self esteem for both groups and between low and normal levels of social skills in each category. Finally, no important differences were founded in the levels of self esteem between the admission group and the social reinsertion period for the juveniles.

This paper reports a study that investigates and compares the effects of foreign language proficiency, social status of a learner’s family, self-esteem, and competitiveness on FL anxiety. Chinese university students (N = 146), who were learning Japanese and English, participated in this study. Social status data were collected once with the Social Status Scale. Other variables were measured twice over a two-month interval, using the Competitiveness Index, the Self-esteem Scale, the English/Japanese Classroom Anxiety Scale, and the English/Japanese Proficiency Scale. Results showed that foreign language proficiency, competitiveness, and self-esteem all significantly predicted foreign language anxiety levels. Foreign language proficiency was the best predictor, followed by self-esteem, then competitiveness. A negative relationship was revealed between these predictor variables and foreign language anxiety. Social status was not related to foreign language anxiety, either directly or indirectly.
