Abstract: This paper explored the use of YouTube video blogging (vlogging) to promote self-regulation in an English for Public Speaking class. The self-regulation includes four essential components namely planning, monitoring the plans, controlling and changing the plans, and reflecting on the works. Furthermore, the investigation was to determine what self-regulation improvement has developed through YouTube vlogging and how YouTube vlogging can improve students’ self-regulation. The research method was a Classroom Action Research. To obtain the data, Self-Regulation Questionnaires in the Pre-Survey and Post-Survey, students’ journal entries and semi-structured interviews were employed as the instruments. Then, the data were analyzed using Quantitative and Qualitative approaches. The data analysis results show that participants improve their self-regulation. The improvement can be seen from the results of the Post-Survey compared to Pre-Survey and the second students’ journal entries compared to the first students’ journal entries. Furthermore, the results of semi-structured interviews reveal that the improvement was caused by the process of YouTube vlogging creation.

Background: Professional nurses employed in trauma units encounter numerous stressors in their practice environment. They use different strategies to cope with this stress, including venting traumatic information to their partners and other family members. Aims: To describe how partners of professional nurses cope with traumatic information being vented to them. Methods: A qualitative research method with an interpretive descriptive inquiry design was used to explore, interpret and describe the coping experiences of the nurses’ partners. Purposive sampling was used to select a total of 14 partners, but only ten participated in semi-structured interviews. Tesch’s eight steps of open coding were used for data analysis. Results: Four main themes were identified indicating adaptive and maladaptive coping skills, namely partners’ experiences of traumatic information vented to them; partners’ coping activities; reciprocal communication and relationship support between partners and nurses; and resilience of partners to deal with the nursing profession. Conclusion: Partners employed different ways to cope with traumatic information. It was essential for partners and nurses to be supported by nurses’ practice environments and to develop resilience to fulfil reciprocal supportive roles in their relationships.

The self-regulation of exercise maintenance model was used to study the episode-specific interpretations of exercise of older women immediately after an exercise episode. Seventeen women, mean age 69.7 ± 4.9 years, were recruited to represent a variety of exercise patterns. A semistructured episode-specific interview was administered after an exercise episode. The questions asked related to physiological/somatic and cognitive/emotional sensations associated with exercise and the social/environmental context of the exercise experience. Data analysis revealed five themes—somatic sensations, affirmations, connectedness, explanations, and reflections—each of which contained distinct categories. The proposed self-regulation of exercise maintenance model was clarified to better represent the data grounded in the women’s descriptions. The women’s qualitative descriptors will be used to develop a quantitative instrument to measure older women’s interpretations of exercise. Future research should involve testing the self-regulation of exercise maintenance model and examining interventions that affect episode-specific interpretations and thereby exercise maintenance.

Despite an ample study and analysis of Self concept and Self esteem, not a solitary deconstructive work has been done on the Effect of Self concept on Self esteem. So, this study aimed at the disclosure of all the ways through which self concept affects the self esteem among university students. The research method applied on the paper was quantitative. The study adopted a Multiple Self Concept Scale byBruce A. Bracken and Rosenberg’s Self- esteems scale (Rosenberg, 1965). The collected data analysis was accomplished statistically using the t-test and coefficient of correlation techniques. A sample of 250 students comprised of 75 males and 175 females was taken from BZU Multan. The inferences of the study conceded that Self Concept has a significant effect on Self esteem among university adults. Besides, the research inquiry brought the fact to light that there is, no doubt, a significant disparity of influences of self concept on self esteem between male and female.

Ethnobotanical survey of tree species in the Tabuleiro Grande settlement, Apodi, Rio Grande do Norte

Abstract: The aim this study was to realize ethnobotanical survey in Settlement Tabuleiro Grande Project, located in Apodi - RN, to contribute to the rescue of popular knowledge and discuss the implications of the use of trees in the conservation of forest resources.
