The data collection was carried out by using a Metacognition questionnaire and English achievement students   from   report   card.   Researcher   used   cluster random  sampling  technique  in  taking  the  sample.  The data of the study was analyzed through Spearman correlation analysis of SPSS 16. The result shows that the coefficient correlation that obtained from the computation is  0,443  and  categorized  as  moderate  correlation.  The result   shows   that   there   is   a   significant   correlation between students’ metacognition and their academic achievement in English subject. This conclusion of this study  was  drawn  through  the  result  of computation which showed that the value of coefficient correlation (r) between two variables, that was students’ metacognition as  the  variable  X  and  academic  achievement  as  the variable Y, is as moderate as that of the Spearman correlation table with 0,05 level significant. Further, the data showed that there was a moderate correlation. Therefore,  it  means that  the  alternative  hypothesis was accepted    and    the    null    hypothesis    was    rejected. Keywords: Metacognition, Academic Achievement

This is a mixed method-explanatory research. This study aims to obtain information about the relationship between the ability to solve environmental problems with students 'argumentation skills about socio-scientific issues and the reasons why the variable ability to solve environmental problems has a very high relationship in improving students' argumentation skills about socio-scientific issues as well as other factors that influence it in addition to the ability to solve environmental issues. This research was conducted in November 2017 until May 2018. The population of this research is Biology Education Student, FKIP, Universitas Pakuan academic year 2017/2018. Sampling technique using purposive sampling and Slovin. The sample of 113 students consist of semesters 2 to semester 6. Based on the result of significance test and linearity test it can be concluded that simple regression analysis with equation Ŷ = 0,898 + 0,049 X is significant and linear. Based on the results of quantitative research obtained correlation coefficient (ry) between the ability to solve environmental problems with student argumentation skills about socio-scientific issues of 0.765. The value of this correlation coefficient shows that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, it means that the ability to solve the environmental problems contributes very highly to students' argumentation skill about socio-scientific issue. Based on the results of interviews on several sources, there are other factors that influence students' argumentation skill about socio-scientific issues among others, confidence, lecturer role, and peer role during discussion.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between parental involvement and academic achievement of children in some selected full cycle government primary schools of Bahirdar city. To achieve this objective, 180 sample students were selected by using simple random sampling technique. The collected data was analyzed through, spearman correlation, analysis of variance and independent-test. The finding of the study revealed that the statistical analysis on independent t-test showed that there was a statistically significant difference between male and female students with regard to their academic achievement (t=6.25, df = 178, p<0.05). The finding of spearman correlation indicates that there was significant relationship between parental involvement and academic achievement of students (r=.56, p <.05). The result on one way ANOVA displayed that there was statistical significant difference among respondents academic achievement with regard to their parental level of education (F 2, 176) = 17.084, P<0.05. In conclusion, parental involvement is positively correlated with academic achievement of students and males have better academic performance than their female counter parts.

The aim of this study is to figure out whether there is a correlation between students’ interest and their academic achievement in learning English. The number of the sample in this research are 87 students at the second grade of SMA Negeri 1 Tomohon. This study used quantitative research design which is non-experimental research. The data collected with questionnaire to obtain the information about students’ interest and students’ achievement in learning English. The questionnaire consists of 31 items divided into positive and negative statements. The items were tested with SPPS to determent the validity and the reliability of each items. The data was analysed by using the formula of Pearson Product Moment Correlation. It was found that the correlation score was 0.424. The significance value was 0.217 showed in the r table. The score of correlation 0.424 was higher than the significance value 0.217, means that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Based on the result, it can be concluded that there was a positive correlation between students’ interest and their academic achievement in learning English. The researcher suggests that the case interest is very important particularly in affecting students’ achievement, therefore it must be improved.

This research is motivated by the problem in this study, namely weak hand muscle strength, muscle endurance and balance to shooting games, some UPGRIS students take part in Petanque UKM, some of them are students who have hand muscle strength, muscle endurance in throwing something is lacking and so is the balance of the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of hand muscle strength, muscle endurance and balance on the accuracy of shooting games at UKM Petanque UPGRIS and to determine the causes of the lack of accuracy in the shooting game Petanque. The method used is quantitative research methods with the type of research model True-Experimental Design Pre-test Post-test Two Group design. The population and sample in this study were 10 petanque athletes at the PGRI University of Semarang. This sampling technique uses total sampling. The method of data analysis used paired sample test with a significance level of 5%. The results showed that there was an effect of hand muscle strength training, muscle endurance and balance on the accuracy of shooting game Petanque which was expressed through the results of hypothesis testing with paired sample t-test with count = -7.571 and t-table = 2.777. Then t_count> t-table so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, while based on the significant value because the value is sig. = 0.002 with a confidence level of 95%, then Sig. > ? (0.05). So that Ho was rejected. This study concludes that there is an effect of hand muscle strength training, muscle endurance and balance on the accuracy of the Petanque shooting game at the UKM Petanque UPGRIS club. Suggestion, hand muscle strength training, muscle endurance and balance are used as training media so that they can help athletes improve shooting accuracy.
