Breastfeeding is an obligation for a mother which aims to provide life and welfare to her baby which begins after the birth of the baby. The only ideal food for babies 0-6 months is exclusive breast milk aged 0-6 months because it contains all the nutrients needed by babies. However, many mothers do not give exclusive breastfeeding, so the factors that influence it must be investigated to encourage the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This study uses the Literature Review method, searches through Google Scholar and PubMed with the keywords "exclusive breastfeeding", "exclusive breastfeeding factors", "breastfeeding", and "factors that influence exclusive breastfeeding". Found 8 articles that match the topic, namely 5 international journals and 3 national journals that provide varied information on the determinants of exclusive breastfeeding. Based on the analysis, 6 determinants of the success of exclusive breastfeeding were found, including work, self-motivation, knowledge, family support, early breastfeeding initiation behavior (IMD) in mothers, and support from medical personnel

World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that babies remain given exclusive breast milk for the first six months of a baby's life. However, there were some obstacles that cause the mother to be unable to give exclusive breast milk to her baby. By the time the baby becoming 4 to 6 months, the opportunity to provided exclusive breast milk is reduced because of many factor such as working mother can be an obstacle to providing exclusive breast milk. Often for mothers prefer to provide formula milk or complementary food for their babies to make it simply. This literature review aims to determine the differences in nutritional status of infants who were exclusively breastfed and those who were not exclusively breastfed at the age of 4 to 6 months. This literature review is semi-quantitative using the narrative review method. The search for articles accessed from the PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct database found 40 articles that met the criteria. There were differences in the nutritional status of infants who were exclusively breastfed and those who were given non-exclusive breastfeeding. Babies who were exclusively breastfed at the age of 4 to 6 months had a better nutritional status than babies who were given nonexclusive breastfeeding.

Background Breast milk contains many essential nutrition factorsbest for babies. The 1997 Indonesian Health Demography foundthat the proportion of exclusive breastfeeding was still low (52%)and increased to 55.1% in 2002. Due to increasing number ofworking mothers, promoting breast feeding among them should beperformed properly. There are no data on exclusive breastfeedingrate and pattern among working mothers in Indonesia. Objective To describe exclusive breastfeeding rate and patternamong working mothers in several areas in Jakarta and the influ-encing factors. Methods A descriptive study using a questionnaire was conductedfrom October 2005 to February 2006. Subjects were workingmothers who had 6 to 12 month old baby and breastfed and thebaby had no congenital or chronic disease. Results Among 290 mothers interviewed, 40% worked at banksor insurance business, 34% were private employees, 25% medicalstaffs, and 2% were teachers. Almost 80% have exclusivelybreastfed for less than 4 months, 17% for 4 months, and only 4%for 6 months. Maternal leave, family support, mothers’ knowl-edge, facilities at workplace, media influences, and working hoursseemed to have no relations to breastfeeding rate. There were122 (42%) mothers who had good knowledge about physiologyof lactation, 155 of them (53%) had fair knowledge, and only45% of them had poor knowledge. Conclusions The proportion of working mothers in several areasin Jakarta who have exclusively breastfed for 4 months is 17%, andonly 4% of subjects do exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months. Mostsubjects have a good to fair knowledge about the physiology oflactation but it does not seem to influence the decision to exclu-sively breastfed their babies.

Background Exclusive breastfeeding by healthy mothers to their healthy, term babies who underwent vaginal birth, should be readily accomplished. However, exclusive breastfeeding by Indonesian mothers has declined. Objective To assess the monthly success rate prevalences for exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life, as well as factors that affect exclusive breastfeeding. Methods A prospective cohort study was conducted in 243 healthy mothers with healthy term babies who underwent normal births at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (CMH), Jakarta, Indonesia. Guided interviews were conducted monthly for six months. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were performed on the factors potentially affecting breastfeeding with equal subject numbers. Results Exclusive breastfeeding prevalences were 64.8% (first month), 53.7% (second month), 43% (third month), 30.7% (fourth month), 23.5% (fifth month), and 22.3% (sixth month). Multivariate analysis revealed that the mother’s confidence in breast milk production, as well as husband or family support, affected the success of exclusive breastfeeding for each month. Maternal not working/studying outside the home affected the success of exclusive breastfeeding in the third (RR 3.38; 95%CI 1.21 to 9.43) and fourth months (RR 6.56; 95%CI 1.39 to 30.99).Conclusion Exclusive breastfeeding prevalences in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital decrease in a monthly fashion up to the sixth month. Several factors affecte the success rate for each month in the six month period, including maternal confidence in breast milk production and family support.

LACTATION MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR PREGNANT WOMEN AND BREASTFEEDING MOTHERS: EFFORTS TO OPTIMIZE CHILD GROWTH. The key person for making quality generation lies on mother, through breast milk. Breastfeeding, besides providing the best nutrition for optimal baby growth and development, it is also a form of love to a baby. Ironically, not all mothers realize and many mothers do not breastfeed their babies exclusively. The low level of knowledge and working mothers is often an obstacle for mothers to give exclusive breastfeeding. In Indonesia, almost 9 of 10 mothers give breast milk, but only 49.8% give exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months. Lactation management health promotion activities are carried out in accordance with WHO recommendations and the Indonesian government in promoting breastfeeding, especially increasing the achievement of the rate of early breastfeeding initiation and exclusive breastfeeding. The activities carried out using several methods: counseling, demonstration, video and discussion. We found that 54.1% of participants gave exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months, 27% for 4 months, and others 2-3 months. Wilcoxon Rank Test showed a significant difference (p = 0,000) between the score of pre-test and post-test, with a mean pre-test of 49.02 ± 19.74, and a mean post-test of 68.53 ± 20.00. Conclution: This activity increased participants' knowledge regarding lactation management.

Lactation Preparation In pregnancy is an effective activity to increase exclusive breast milk coverage and early breastfeeding initiation (IMD). Participants are prioritized pregnant women as well as posyandu cadre mothers. The success of exclusive breastfeeding depends heavily on lactation preparation during pregnancy, often found in the field, the fundamental reasons mothers do not give breast milk to their babies are, (1) Breast milk has not come out on the first day, so given Formula Milk while waiting for mother's breast milk, (2) Breast milk is still a little, and (3) Nipples sink. Some of the above reasons can be anticipated in pregnancy at the age of aterm pregnancy, namely by explaining to the mother about the lactation process, the baby's need for breast milk in the early stages of birth and breast care at the age of aterm pregnancy, as well as the provision of knowledge about balanced nutrition that can be consumed during pregnancy to help increase the production of breast milk in the nifas / or lactation period, However, this group is open to others who have similar interests, such as husbands, or families who will support and accompany the mother during pregnancy until the process of breastfeeding later. Through the extension of lactation preparation given, it is expected that pregnant women can prepare the lactation process since pregnancy as an effort to successfully breastfeed exclusively.

AbstractGlobal study “The Lancer Breastfeeding Series” 2016 explains that infant mortality due to infection reaches 88% in infants aged less than three months, while 82% of children get sick because they do not receive exclusive breastfeeding. Exclusive breastfeeding can reduce infant mortality due to infection. Several factors that affect exclusive breastfeeding are the mother, the infant, and support factors. One of the sources of support that can affect exclusive breastfeeding is the husband’s support. This study aimed to determine the relationship between husband's support and exclusive breastfeeding through a literature review. This study uses a literature review method. The articles used are sourced from online databases with electronic searches on Google Scholar and Garuda Portal published in 2011-2021. The critical assessment instrument used is the STROBE instrument. Based on the 6 articles used in the litarture review, the results showed that in 3 articles namely research from Fitriani (2020), Rolita (2020), and Aries (2019), there was a correlation between the husband’s support and exclusive breastfeeding. Meanwhile, in the other three articles namely research fromIndriyani (2019), Novira (2017), and Rahayu (2018), there was no correlation between the husband’s support and exclusive breastfeeding. Husband's support is related to exclusive breastfeeding, so that the management of nursing care for breastfeeding mothers should involve the husband.
