Vitamin C is one component that can increase iron absorption in patients with iron deficiency anemia. This study aims to determine the effect of vitamin C supplementation on iron absorption as measured by hemoglobin levels in anemic mice. This type of research is an experimental laboratory design. Experimental animals (Mus. Musculus) male mice were made anemia induced with sodium nitrite and then divided into three treatment groups. Group I, was given distilled water, Group II, was given ferrous sulfate, Group III, was given ascorbic acid + ferrous sulfate at a dose of 4.5 mg. The treatment was given for 14 days after experiencing anemia. Data analysis was used ANOVA test. If it has an effect, it continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Changes in the average hemoglobin level of mice ranged from 12-15 grams/dL after 14 days of treatment, which means that the hemoglobin level returned to normal. Thus, the administration of vitamin C can increase iron levels in mice (Mus musculus) Anemia by induction of sodium nitrite. Hewan coba mencit (Mus. Musculus) jantan dibuat anemia dengan diinduksi dengan natrium nitrit kemudian dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok I diberi akuades, Kelompok II diberi ferro sulfat, Kelompok III diberi asam askorbat + fero sulfat dengan dosis 4,5 mg. Perlakuan diberikan selama 14 hari setelah mengalami anemia. Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA. Bila memiliki pengaruh maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Perubahan kadar hemoglobin rata-rata mencit berkisar 12-15 gram/dL setelah perlakuan selama 14 hari yang artinya kadar hemoglobin kembali ke keadaaan normal. Free radical that are released in cigarette smoke, believed to play an important role in male infertility. The free radicalproduces Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) that is found increased in male smokers. ROS is one of the free radicalscomponent can be neutralized by vitamin C and E as an antioxidant. This study using those agents to the fifteen minuteshalf piece cigarette to expose mice and count their sperm as the fertilility parameter. The research design used was posttest-only control group with twenty mice were divided into five groups. A group of no smoke exposed was categorizedas a baseline control, the exposed groups were consisted of one group without antioxidant, one group with vitamin Ctreatment, a group of vitamin E treatment and at last the combination of vitamin C and E. All groups were treatedfor fourteen days. The results were analyzed using oneway ANOVA with p<0.05. It is obviously proven that thecombination of vitamin C and vitamin E treatment on the usual dose gave the highest sperm count compared to othergroups.

Background and Objectives: In 2020 the whole world is experiencing a pandemic condition due to infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus which can cause the COVID-19 disease. This condition results in “Panic Buying”, because everyone tries to avoid the spread and transmission of the COVID-19 disease by doing various ways, one of which is by taking additional supplements such as vitamin C and probiotic supplements. Materials and Methods: The materials used were mice Mus musculus male DDY strain aged 1-2 months. Probiotic supplement Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14 with a viability of 1 × 108 CFU/ml. with a weight of 0.16 grams dissolved in 0.25 ml 0.9% NaCl. Vitamin C used is a commercial vitamin C tablet, weighing 0.06 grams in 0.25 ml 0.9% NaCl. Meanwhile, the feed for mice (Mus musculus) is a complete feed from Pokphand with the code BR1 CP511B. Lung histology preparations data were analysed descriptively and statistically through the test Chi square while the data on the number of lymphocytes were analysed descriptively. Results: The histological observations of lungs of Mus musculus showed that in the treatment of ML, MV, and MKA test was carried out chi square ratio between the groups that did not have lymphocyte infiltration and those that had lymphocyte infiltration showed a significant difference (p <0.05). Meanwhile, the results of the lymphocyte count showed that ML and MV treatment was higher than that of MK treatment. Conclusion: It is suggested that the administration of probiotics can stimulate and modulate the respiratory immune system.

Prolonged diabetes leads to multi-organ damages due to oxidative stress. Fish oil rich in omega-3 poly unsaturated fatty acid is known to reduce the oxidative stress. The present study has been aimed to evaluate the ameliorative effect of two fish oils extracted from Sardinella longiceps and Rastrelliger kanagurta, in diabetes-induced tissue damages in liver, kidney and heart tissues of mice, Mus musculus. Diabetes was induced by repetitive intra-peritoneal injection of alloxan (100mg/kg BW). The diabetic mice were fed the commercial pellet diet supplemented with 10% laboratory extracted fish oil of S.longiceps and R.kanagurta, for period of one month. Concentra-tion of various parameters viz.,Thiobutaric acid reactive substance, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and reduced glutathione along with activities of Aspartate aminotransferase, Alanine aminotransferase, Gamma glutamyltranspeptidase, Lactate dehydrogenase, Superoxide dismutase and Catalase were monitored in these tissues. Altered level of tissue biochemical composition and enzyme activities due to diabetes-induced damages was nearly brought down to nor-mal levels with the supplementation of 10% fish oil. Histological studies of liver, heart and kidney confirms the protective effect of dietary fish oil from diabetes induced tissue damages. Fish oil from S.longiceps brought maximum changes in concentration of TBARS, Vitamin C and in the activities of AST, LDH and Catalase in diabetic mice in comparison with the fish oil of R.kanagurta. Fish oil from S.longiceps offers better protective effect in diabe-tes induced mice in comparison to R. kanagurta oil.

The aim of this research was to describe the ability of vitamin C in improving the spermatogenesis and spermatozoa quality of mice after the treatment of tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) extract. The framework of the research was that it was already known that vitamin C was one of the anti-oxidant, which was able to counter free radical of the nicotine obtained in tobacco extract in improving the spermatogenesis. The research would be conducted by grouping the mice into 6 groups, and each group consists of 4 repetitions in 35 days. The first group was as control, the second group was treated with C vitamin in the dosage of 0.024 mg/g of body weight, the third group was treated with tobacco extract in the dosage of 0,121 mg/g of body weight, the fourth group was treated with tobacco extract in the dosage of 0,121 mg/g of body weight and C vitamin of 0,012 mg/g of body weight, the fifth group was treated with tobacco extract in the dosage of 0,121 mg/g of body weight and C vitamin of 0,024 mg/g of body weight, and the sixth group was treated with tobacco extract in the dosage of 0,121 mg/g of body weight and C vitamin of 0,036 mg/g of body weight. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that tobacco extract treatment could decrease spermatogenesis quality and spermatozoa quality of mice (Mus musculus L.). C Vitamin could improve spermatogenesis and spermatozoa quality of mice after tobacco extract treatment. The optimal dosage of C vitamin treatment to improve the spermatogenesis and the quality of spermatozoa after the addition of tobacco extract treatment was 0,024 mg/g of weight.
