Abstract Adolescents who experience hypertension can continue into adulthood and have a high risk of morbidity and mortality. One of the factors that is thought to play a major role in the incidence of hypertension is an unhealthy lifestyle, namely lack of physical activity, smoking, alcoholic, and poor diet that can trigger obesity. Until now, many people who think that hypertension is a disease that attacks the adult or advanced age group. Especially teenagers, they assume do not have a problem and do not realize the importance of knowing blood pressure, the dangers of hypertension, factors related to the incidence of hypertension and how to reduce the likelihood of hypertension.   Community service activities are carried out for teenagers at SMK Bhakti Nusantara Mranggen in 3 stages of activity, namely preparation, implementation and evaluation. In preparation stage, the characteristics and initial knowledge are measured, then the preparation of health education materials is carried out. The community service activities are carried out using counseling/lecture, discussion and leaflet methods. In the evaluation phase, the final stage of knowledge measurement, blood pressure measurement and a different knowledge test before and after health education are measured. Preliminary data collection results found that one third of respondents had poor knowledge about hypertension. Some things that are not yet known by all adolescents are: hypertension does not only occur in the elderly an adults (33,3%), causes and prevention of hypertension, as well as signs and symptoms of hypertension. After conducting activities in the form of counseling, it was faound out that there were significants differences in knowledge about hypertension among adolescents before and after the provision of health education.

Background: Increased high blood pressure in the elderly can be caused by various factors, one of which is stress. Stress can trigger the onset of hypertension through activation of the sympathetic nervous system which causes an increase in blood pressure intermittently. Hypertension patients need to be helped to reduce stress so that blood pressure does not increase. One of the non-pharmacological therapies to reduce stress is SEFT therapy. The purpose of this activity are to increase the elderly's knowledge about hypertension and increase awareness to control blood pressure and lowering blood pressure with SEFT therapy. Methods: Method this study is used blood pressure measurement, health education, and SEFT therapy. Results: Of this activity are health education can increase knowledge and awareness in controlling blood pressure, and SEFT therapy can reduce blood pressure in elderly hypertension. Conclusion:  SEFT therapy can be an intervention alternative in reducing blood pressure.

Blood pressure is the pressure contained in the blood vessels that occurs when the heart pumps blood throughout the body. If the blood pressure is less than 120/80 mmHg it is under normal conditions. Hypertension occurs when the systolic / diastolic blood pressure exceeds 140/90 mmHg. The causes of hypertension are divided into two groups, namely: a) Essential Primary Hypertension is hypertension which has several possible causes; b) Secondary hypertension is hypertension caused by disturbances in blood vessels or certain organs, such as the kidneys, adrenal glands, and aorta. The purpose of PKM is to increase public knowledge and understanding of how to recognize symptoms and behaviors at risk of hypertension. The PKM method is in the form of counseling and health education on identifying symptoms and behaviors at risk of hypertension, targeting community PKM in RT 05 RW 12, Tangkerang Selatan District, Pekanbaru City. Activities will be held on Thursday, September 10 to September 19, 2020. The results of the PKM activities showed that of the 20 people who participated in the activity, 70% of the people knew and could mention about hypertension, especially the community was able to recognize the symptoms of hypertension and risky behavior that could cause hypertension. Abstract Background: Hypertension is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in adult populations due to complications arising from late detection and poor blood pressure control. Health education has been proven to be an effective strategy in prevention and control of hypertension. However, it’s effectiveness among informal sector workers is under-explored. This study assessed the effect of health education on knowledge of hypertension and its prevalence among market traders in Southeast Nigeria. Methods: The study was conducted in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria using a non-randomized experimental study design comprising an intervention arm and a control arm. Systematic random sampling was used to select 376 adult market traders into the study. Baseline data were collected on participants’ knowledge of hypertension using pretested structured interviewer-administered questionnaire and on their blood pressure status. The intervention group received health education on risk factors, complications, treatment, prevention and early detection of hypertension, while the control group did not. A post-study assessment was carried out after six months using the same study instruments. Bi-variate and multivariate analyses were carried out and statistical significance was set at p < 0.05 Results: The proportion of traders in the intervention group with good knowledge of hypertension increased from 20.7% to 80.7% post intervention (p<0.001); the difference in the control group was not statistically significant. Prevalence of hypertension decreased by 9.8% (p<0.001) from the baseline value of 38.8% in the intervention group but increased in the control group. Predictors of hypertension included having good knowledge of hypertension (AOR: 0.4; CI: 0.2-0.9), being ≥40years (AOR: 2.9; CI: 1.3-6.4), and being single or unmarried (AOR: 2.4; CI: 1.1–5.9) Conclusions: Blood pressure education intervention was effective in improving knowledge of hypertension and reducing prevalence of hypertension. This demonstrates the need to regularly educate market traders on the risk factors, complications, treatment, prevention and early detection of high blood pressure.
