The article is devoted to a comprehensive study of the economics film discourse. Eleven feature films and documentaries of the economic genre in the English and Russian languages (total duration – 1,221 minutes) served as the material for the research. The article provides an overview of linguistic studies of the economic discourse over the past 20 years, describing three forms of its existence and functioning: scientific economic discourse, official business economic discourse, and popular economic discourse. Further, the author substantiates the feasibility of using film texts as material for linguistic research into the economic discourse, as well as its advantage – the possibility of studying three modes: oral, written, and gestural. The paper presents the following typological aspects of the economics film discourse: target audience, participants in communication, communication code, topic and precedent texts as the main idea. Based on those, the author identifies and describes the target audience of economics films, three binary models of interaction between participants in economic communication and their features. Further, the paper presents typological variety of discourses in which economic communication unfolds. There are considered everyday discourse, mass information discourse, and business discourse. In the last one, the author identifies the following genres: business conversation, business negotiations, office meeting, public speech, presentation, business discussion, press conference, business correspondence. In addition, the author has compiled terminological maps for economics films with the identification of key terms that determine the subject matter and the main problem of each film. The results of the analysis can be used not only in further research in the field of discourse and textual analysis but also as a basis for the formation of lecture and practical materials to be used for the course of business English and in the training of translators in the field of economics.

The article discusses the method of solving the task 18 on the Unified State Examination in Informatics (Russian EGE). The main idea of the method is to write the conditions of the problem utilizing the language of formal logic, using elementary predicates. According to the laws of logic the resulting complex logical expression would be transformed into an expression, according to which a geometric model is supposed to be constructed which allows to obtain an answer. The described algorithm does allow high complexity problem to be converted into a simple one.

In this study, I have collected and summarized the functional aspects of a literary prize, contest, and rating, which indicate their affiliation with the marketing complex of the publishing house for the first time. For this purpose, I have analyzed and summarized the common concepts of the functioning of literary prizes and contests as advertising tools for publishing activity. Because the previous studies are only focused on the fact of the impact of the prize on the promotion of editions but do not explain it, these aspects have been considered and introduced by me from the book production’s point of view. I investigated that the prizes and the contests in the literary field are effective marketing tools, which meet many publisher’s needs at the same time and can be considered a non-profit form of capital. I have reviewed the works of other authors, who accept that the economic success of the book is rising if the author is a winner of the literary prize or contest. I have found out that the book prize activates the demand for the book, and the literary contest is a tool to track the reader’s reaction to a future publication. In this way, literary prizes and contests can be considered as a way of conducting a marketing dialogue with the target audience. I have focused on the information support of literary national and international prizes and contests by the media, which attracts attention to the book and forms the reader’s interest. The literary prizes and contests are also considered as a way of exploring trends and their changes, familiarization the popular genres among the target audience and fixation the current choice of modern readers. Literary prizes and contests motivate the authors to improve their literary excellence, are the source of new authors and works, and assist in increasing sales of books. However, further research is recommended.
Key words: book prize, book rating, literary contest, literary prize, functions of the literary prizes.

Reading is one of the important aspects in the communication process. Reading can make someone better understand the contents of the reading. In learning to make it easier for students to understand the contents of the reading it will be easier if it begins with the ability to determine the main ideas of the paragraph. Based on this, the researcher conducted a study by applying the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model to the ability to determine the main idea of the paragraph at the fifth grade students of SD 003 Pulau Kopung. This study aims to determine the effect of the CIRC learning model on the ability to determine the main ideas of paragraphs of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 003 Pulau Kopung. This research method is a quasi- experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This research was conducted in two classes, the VA class as the control class and VB class as the experimental class with 22 students in each class. The results of the study showed that the CIRC learning model influenced the ability to determine paragraph main ideas with the results of calculations derived from the gain index, the experimental class using the CIRC learning model got an increase in gain of 0.59 with the middle class and the control class with the normal learning model got an increase of 0.31 with medium class.

The feature vectors of speaker identification system plays a crucial role in the overall performance of the system. There are many new feature vectors extraction methods based on MFCC, but ultimately we want to maximize the performance of SID system. The objective of this paper to derive Gammatone Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (GFCC) based a new set of feature vectors using Gaussian Mixer model (GMM) for speaker identification. The MFCC are the default feature vectors for speaker recognition, but they are not very robust at the presence of additive noise. The GFCC features in recent studies have shown very good robustness against noise and acoustic change. The main idea is GFCC features based on GMM feature extraction is to improve the overall speaker identification performance in low signal to noise ratio (SNR) conditions.
