The youth constitutes the largest user base of social media networks. While this generation has grown up in a digitally immersed environment, they are still not immune to the dangers the online space bears. Hence, maintaining their privacy is paramount. The present article presents a theoretical contribution, that is based on a review of relevant articles. It sets out to investigate the importance adolescents attribute to online privacy, which is likely to influence their willingness to disclose data. In line with a “new privacy paradox”, information disclosure is seen as unavoidable, given the centrality of social networks to adolescents’ lives. This goes hand in hand with individual privacy management. As individuals often lack knowledge as to how to protect their privacy, it is essential to educate the youth about their possibilities, equipping them with agency and self-responsibilization. This corresponds with a teen-centric approach to privacy as proposed by the TOSS framework.

This paper aims to find the key process parameters for machining different parts of an automobile gearbox, commissioned by a company that needs to replace with the MQL lubrication system their current machining process based on cutting fluids. It particularly focuses on the definition of appropriate cutting parameters for machining under the MQL condition through a statistical method of Design of Experiments (DOE). Using a combination of recommended parameters, significant improvements in the surface roughness of different machined parts are shown. Production costs are also reduced by decreasing expenses on lubricants and by optimizing the cycle time reached under the new cutting conditions, what would help the implementing company to increase its profits and adapt to a modern sustainability-demanding production industry.

Until recently, a company's communications with the public were unidirectional and mostly limited to advertisements in mass media. This gave companies almost complete control over their brand and image. Nowadays, a new set of media, in which the public has similar capabilities for creating content as companies has emerged: social media. The growth of this medium has been exponential, endowing it with a reach that can dwarf traditional mass media. Having or not having a presence in such media is not just a choice of the company. The company's customers and the general public can generate content related to a company without the company’s consent. There is no way for the company to avoid it. All they can do is listen to the conversations, engage in them, and try to dampen negative feelings while steering the overall conversation in positive directions. Given the size of social networks and the large number of conversations that they support on a daily basis, manual monitoring is impossible. In this chapter, the authors review and evaluate various tools to support the tasks of monitoring and managing the content of social media that is relevant for a company, a brand, or a product.

The purpose of this paper is to study the effect of social media and social networks on maximizing and increasing the competitive value of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). We review social media, social networks, and marketing literature that demonstrate the importance of social media and social networks in maximizing MSMEs competitive value through exploring the company-customer relationship, and the advantages and disadvantages that social media utilization brings. The findings suggest that micro, small and medium sized enterprises can reap benefits from executing an effective social media marketing strategy. These benefits encompass reducing overall marketing costs, improved customer service through social media, and achieving a competitive advantage. On the other hand, social networks have drawbacks that may affect MSMEs performance and decrease market share, such as time consumption and lack of feedback control. Therefore, MSMEs need to rethink about customer relationship management through building a conceptual and operational framework that provides both structure and flexibility. The study makes a contribution to the theoretical development through focusing on a neglected area of MSMEs research as well as a contribution to the relevance of social media in improving the competitive value of MSMEs. competitive value
