Background: Untreated pain can cause death in both mother and baby because pain can cause breathing and the mother's heart rate to increase which causes blood flow and oxygen to the placenta to be disrupted. Counterpressure massage which is a strong pressure massage by putting the heel of the hand or a flat part of the hand, or also using a tennis ball. Aims: of this study was to determine the differences in the effectiveness of counterpressure massage with massage effleurage against first stage labor pain in the Special Hospital of the Mother and Child Pertiwi Makassar area. Method: This study uses a Quasi Experiment research method with a pre-test post-test control design approach. The sample selection is done by consecutive sampling technique, the number of samples is 20 respondents (10 respondents for counterpressure massage and 10 respondents for massage effleurage). Data were processed using the Mann-Whitney test. Results: From the data analysis, the results obtained p-value = 0.009. Discussion: This shows that the value of p <α, then the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Conclusion: counterpressure massage is more effective than massage effleurage to reduce labor pain in the first stage.

Trimester III is the period of pregnancy which is calculated from the gestational age of the 28th week to the 40th week. Psychological changes in pregnant women are estimated to occur 80%. third trimester. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of hypnobirthing, yoga and pregnancy exercise on the anxiety level of third trimester pregnant women at BPM Griya Bunda Ceria in 2020. Research method: quantitative research, using the shapiro wilt test method with pre-test and post-test approaches. in this study were all third trimester pregnant women who checked their pregnancy at BPM Griya Bunda Ceria Palembang. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by means of observation using a questionnaire sheet. The results: obtained from a total of 15 respondents. Based on the results of the Shapiro Wilt test, the p-Value is 0.05 where >α = 0.05 means that there is a significant influence between before and after hypnobirthing is done.statistically, the p-Value is 0,000, meaning that there is a significant effect between before and after yoga. Thus the hypothesis which states that there is an effect of yoga on the anxiety level of pregnant women in the third trimester which is statistically proven based on the paired shapiro wilt test, the p-Value is 0.00 in yoga, p-Value is 0.00 in pregnancy exercise, and the statistical test results are said to be related if the value The calculated p-Value <= 0.05 then Ho is rejected, meaning that it is significant, so the conclusion is that the two variables have a relationship, on the contrary, if the calculated p-Value> = 0.05, then Ho is accepted, meaning that the two variables have no significant relationship.

BACKGROUND: Labor pain is a physiological process caused by the contraction of uterus muscle as an effort to open the cervix and push the baby’s head toward the pelvis. One of the treatments giving by nurses to reduce the pain is by counter-pressure therapy. AIM: The aim of the study was to determine the effect of counter-pressure therapy using tennis balls toward the pain level in the first stage during the active phase of labor. METHODS: It was a quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest one group design. The population in this study was patients with active phase I delivery in PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Temanggung. A total of 26 respondents were selected through purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon matched paired test. RESULTS: The pain intensity in 26 respondents (100%) in the first stage during the active phase of labor before the treatment was categorized as severe pain. However, after the implementation of the counter-pressure therapy using tenis ball, the pain intensity was categorized as moderate in 18 respondents (69.2%) and severe in the rest of the respondents (30.8%). CONCLUSION: Counter-pressure massage therapy using a tennis ball was effective in reducing the level of pain in the first stage during the active phase of labor with a p = 0.000 (α < 0.05).

Birth pain can cause maternal discomfort such as fatigue, frustration, despair, and stress. The preliminary survey at PMB Ernita of Pekanbaru showed that there were 60% of the mothers that suffered moderate pain and 40% of them experienced severe pain. The intensity of labor pain can be reduced by giving a rose effleurage that can produce endorphin so that it stimulates a sense of relaxation. This pre-experimental research used a one group pre-test study post-test design carried out in March to June 2018. The population was primigravidae  mothers in the first stage of labor taken using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the average intensity of pain in parturient women before and after administration of rose effleurage was 6.00 and 4.60, respectively. The result of statistic test with Wilcoxon test on 95% confidence degree showed that there was the effect of rose effleurage stage on pain intensity in the active stage of labor (p value = 0.000). It is then suggested that rose effleurage can be applied as an alternative method which aims to reduce the intensity of labor pain at the time of active phase.
