The quality of formal education institutions in Indonesia has been questioned again in effectiveness as more and more cases of fights are heard among students. Conversely, from behind the world of education Islamic boarding schools hardly heard the same case. Of course this is very interesting to study more deeply because surely in the system and method of Islamic boarding schools there are educational materials that are able to form a noble character. The success of Islamic boarding schools to print students who are moral and virtuous cannot be separated from one aspect of the educational material of Islamic boarding schools in the form of congregational prayers performed by santri sincerely. Prayer jama'ah and the aurad reading afterwards diistiqam together together every five times a day and have a very significant role in shaping the mentality of the child has a soul of high solidarity. The momentum of togetherness in congregational prayer is like a therapy. Jama'ah prayer can foster an atmosphere that freezes into liquid. Through this "therapy" each individual establishes verbal and non verbal communication. They coexist and touch each other, so that they can avoid feeling alienated. The superiority of the congregational prayer in fostering the value of the solidarity of the people lies in the process of discipline regulating and straightening the shaf or rows of congregational prayer. If a group of people are accustomed to performing prayers in congregation with good prayers, then this condition will naturally encourage a strong sense of community or solidarity among them. Conversely, if their shaf is not good, of course it also affects the reduced value of solidarity. Especially for those who do not perform congregational prayer.

AbstractThe problem of Human Resources (HR) in Indonesia is becoming increasingly complex, this is reflected in the large number of formal education graduates from various levels who are not absorbed in the world of work. Many factors cause this to happen, including the mismatch between HR competencies and the labor market, the growth of the workforce is greater than the availability of available employment and population distribution between regions is not evenly distributed. If you look at the achievements of Indonesian tertiary education graduates, many of Indonesian tertiary education graduates are slow to get jobs, this shows that there is a broken link between higher education and the world of work. Higher education has not been able to produce graduates with high selling prices armed with the knowledge they have learned even though in general higher education graduates have greater employment opportunities than high school or lower level graduates. Many realities on the ground show that the quality of Indonesian people as a potential resource still does not meet expectations. This happens because of the low quality of education in Indonesia. By fulfilling good educational needs, the students will get benefits and can improve the quality of life of the knowledge they have, so that after completing their education, they can get decent jobs or create quality jobs. Indonesia's education world must start to build links with the world of work, so that the world of work responds to graduates produced in accordance with what the world of work wants; this paradigm must be understood and built by the Indonesian government. Education transformation is needed so that education is able to produce reliable and resilient human resources; education and educators must be improved.

The World Wide Web (WWW) was initially written as a “point and click hypertext editor” (Berners-Lee, 1998, para. 2). Used as a search device by academia and industry, it has over the years experienced both rapid and explosive growth. Earlier incarnations of the World Wide Web were known as “Web 1.0.” Since its inception however the internet has undergone a rapid transformation into what is now considered a sense of community, a reciprocal sharing among users, and a sense of “cognitive presence” (Garrison, Anderson, & Archer, 2000), which has been facilitated by a plethora of software tools that allowed users to widely share their work, in thought (e.g., blogs), in creative endeavors, and in collaborative projects. Siemens’ (2005) theory of “connectivism” encompasses the feeling that sharing promotes and encourages a sense of community that is continually being recreated by its audience. The newest forms of interaction are in the form of virtual worlds, in which avatars can attend class, build their own edifices, sell objects, and meet with other individuals in a global virtual exchange. What was once considered static computing has been transformed into a rich, dynamic environment that is defined by the people who peruse it, as evidenced in the following quotation: “The breaking down of barriers has led to many of the movements and issues we see on today’s internet. File-sharing, for example, evolves not of a sudden criminality among today’s youth, but rather in their pervasive belief that information is something meant to be shared” (Downes, 2006, para. 15). As of 2006, the Web had a billion users worldwide (Williams, 2007). Today’s Web users for the most part are not simply information seekers, but co-creators who wish to collaborate and share information in an electronic environment.

Learning4Content is one of the flagship initiative of WikiEducator providing free training for teachers. In this chapter, the author discusses building a vibrant and sustainable global community contributing to design, development, and delivery of free content for learning and providing training to develop wiki skills for mass collaboration to create high quality learning resources.

The spread of English is considered as a tool of British political and linguistic imperialism in effects of globalization. Kachrus Three Circle model of World Englishes has always played significant role in the categorization of the spread of English. This model is always used as an important tool to critically analyze the distributed circle of English speaking regions in the world where English is dominant over other languages and cultures. In the present study the outer circle from Kachrus model is focused. A Man of the People by Chinua Achebe has been analysed through the lens of Kachrus Three Circle Model of World Englishes. The study finds that the spread of English is basically a tool used for homogenized attack by British imperialism in order to subdue other cultures, politically and linguistically.

Mr President, Distinguished Delegates, Excellencies, Colleagues, Ladies and Gentlemen: Assalam-o-Alaikum. The Annual Conference of the Pakistan Society of Development Economists has traditionally provided the people of Pakistan—both practising economists and ordinary citizens—with a forum to debate in a rigorous analytical framework the major economic issues facing the country. In this context, the theme of the current conference “Growth, Poverty and Decentralisation” is particularly appropriate as Pakistan begins the 21st century. Many important issues will be discussed by the honourable participants during the Conference and an excellent start reflecting the quality of the debate has been made by the paper just presented by Dr Kemal. I, on my part, would like to take this opportunity to talk about Pakistan’s economy in an overall poverty elimination perspective and particularly the potential and challenges facing it in this regard. As a starting point, a summary of the potential of the Pakistan economy is in order. First, Pakistan is the home of the oldest and largest integrated land and water systems in the world. The world’s other old river basins—the Nile and the Tigris/Euphrates—have remained relatively minor, while Pakistan’s Indus Basin is still vital and robust. Last year, Pakistan’s record wheat crop again showed the world the potential of the Great Indus Food Machine.
