Ageing is the multidimensional process in humans with changes occurring in physical, psychological and social aspects which increase their proneness to health ailments. The associated functional impairment and physical inability will influence on their absorption and metabolism leading to the changes in nutritional status. Epidemiological study was conducted among the elderly subjects with respective to understand the quality of health in relation to the nutritional profile. Using a purposive randomized sampling technique, the elderly subjects were selected and assessed for the nutrition and health condition. The investigation comprises approximately 90 subjects of old age institutions and 90 subjects of residents from different domiciles. The study was conducted using standardized validated tools and checklist with oral interview technique and one to one interactions. Findings: In accordance with the body mass evaluation; approximately 59% elderly living at own houses were under Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 obesity in comparison to their counterpart. Medical health records indicated iron deficiency anemia among 10% of subjects. Gastritis, Diabetes, hypertension, arthritis was observed to be the major health problems. Comparatively 64% male elderly from household had oral problems and underwent for dentures. Often had three meal patterns in a day. Henceforth, there is a need to understand and address on the nutritional needs, etiology and demographic characteristics interlinked with comorbidities and health disabilities among aging population. Evidently a significant association was noticed between nutritional status on morbidities and health quality among elderly. Nutritional status is the state of the body as a result of food consumption and use of nutrients nutritional status can also be interpreted as a physical sign caused by a balance between income and expenditure through nutrition through certain variables, namely indicators. The quality of the menu is one of the main things besides service and kitchen cleanliness that must be maintained properly. The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is a relationship between the quality of the menu to the nutritional status of adolescents in the Pondok Ampar Syafa'aturrasul Batu Ampar, Beringin Taluk Kuantan. This type of research is correlated with cross sectional research design. The population in this study were all adolescents in Syafa'aturrasul Islamic Boarding School with a total of 800 inhabitants. The sample used was 267 students. The sampling technique is to use cluster sampling technique. The research instrument used observation sheets. The data obtained was processed by univariate and bivariate data analysis. The results obtained p value 0.27 means p value> 0.05, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between the quality of the menu on the nutritional status of adolescents in the Gyafa'aturrasul Islamic boarding school in Beruk, Taluk Kuantan. It is expected that the cottage together with parents work together to prevent and provide health education on good nutritional status for adolescence.

Introduction: Old age brings several factors that alter the physiological system, which results in loss of functionality in the elderly. Falls are a leading cause of death in this population or activity restrictions, social isolation, decline in health and increased risk of institutionalization. The quality of life in old age is a major challenge, it is necessary for improvement in all aspects of daily. Analyze physical exercise on quality of life of older physically active drives to see how exercise influences the improvement of the basic aspects to a healthier life, referring to physical and mental aspects of the elderly, prevention of the consequences arising from the process natural aging, such as falls. Objective: The objective of this study is to analyze quality of life in elderly practitioners of physical activity and relationship with risk of falls. Method: The sample was 84 seniors, recruited from the community of Londrina PR, physical activity practitioners, aged over 60 years who roam with or without assistive device, of both sexes . The evaluation was through structured questionnaires that focused on socioeconomic - demographic questionnaire falls which was used the Timed Up and Go (TUGT), analysis of quality of life (SF-36) and analysis of the risk of falls. Results: In relationship the anthropometrics characteristics of elderly subjects analyzed, the same presentation mean age 68 years, weight 63.5 kg, height 1.52, and body mass index 27.10. Was regarding correlation between TUGT and falls in the last year (P=0,048) e correlation between TUGT and Physicals Components of SF-36 (P=0,001), and was regarding that elderly with better scores in TUGT were better scores of Physical Components of SF-36 (P=0,003). Conclusion: The quality of life is directly linked to the physical condition of the elderly, elderly practicing physical exercises have a better quality of life and less prone to falls.

Baby massage is one of the hereditary treatments for babies that are always healthy, in addition to these habits can also help overcome the problem of nutritional status. One of the causes of malnutrition is nutrition that is not fulfilled while in the womb, but this can be pursued before the child is 2 years old so that the child can be tall and large, one of them with baby massage intervention. Infant massage stimulation can help improve the status of a child's nutrition and stimulate the child's growth and development. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between infant massage and nutritional status of the two million children shown in the 1,000 HPK group in the context of accelerating nutritional improvement. This type of research used analytic observation with cross sectional method. The samples used were 45 babies under the age of two years. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The results showed that babies who did massage babies were 24 (53.3%), and had good nutritional quality as many as 19 (42.2%). There is a relationship between baby massage with the nutritional quality of infants under two years of age, with a p value of 0.001. This research is expected that parents pay more attention to the nutritional quality of their babies through routine baby massage, which is every 1-2 months. because massaging movements from head to toe make the body more easily in delivering nutrients to blood vessels, blood circulation, improve cognitive function of children, to make the baby avoid nutritional problems.

AbstractIn recent years have seen increasing percentage of the elderly in the overall population. This has driven the attention to the lifestyle factors that influence the health and quality of life of this social group, including their nutrition and physical activity. Universities of the Third Age (U3A) are a valuable platform for the dissemination and broadening of the knowledge related to these topics. The nutritional habits of 61 U3A students in Poznań were evaluated on the basis of a modified KomPAN questionnaire. Their nutritional status was determined using the body mass index (BMI) and waist to hip ratio (WHR) indices. Nearly half of the respondents were overweight and 16% had first degree obesity. The WHR index in women was on average 0.8, while in men it was 1.01. Only 13% of the students declared regular eating, with 60% consuming 4-5 meals a day. Women were found to eat snacks between meals more often than men. It was also found that the majority of the elderly do not add salt to ready meals or sweeten beverages with sugars. Taking into account the observed nutritional problems and the occurrence of improper eating habits of the elderly, it is recommended to continue the education on the prevention of common diet-related diseased.

Physiological changes in elderly individuals (EI) can contribute to nutritional deterioration and comorbidities that reduce their quality of life. Factors such as diet can modulate some of these effects. The aim was to evaluate the functionality of foods added with Brosimum alicastrum Sw. seed flour in EI. EI (n = 23) living in nursing home conditions agreed to participate. A control stage was carried out (30 days) and subsequently, an intervention stage (30 days) was realized in which a muffin and a beverage, designed for EI, were added to the participants’ their usual diet. In both stages, anthropometric parameters, body composition, nutritional status, dietary intake, sarcopenic status, cognitive and affective states, biometric parameters, and total phenolic compounds (TPC), and antioxidant capacity in foods and plasma of EI were determined. The results showed that the consumption of the foods improved the energy intake and preserved the muscle reserves of the EI. The EI gained body weight (+1.1 kg), increased their protein (+18.6 g/day; 1.5 g/kg BW/day), dietary fiber (+13.4 g/day), iron (+4.4 mg/day), zinc (+1.8 mg/day), folic acid (+83.4 µg/day) consumption while reducing their cholesterol (−66 mg/day) and sodium (−319.5 mg/day) consumption. LDL-C lipoproteins reduced (14.8%) and urea (33.1%) and BUN (33.3%) increased. The TPC increased (7.8%) in the plasma, particularly in women (10.7%). The foods improve the EI nutritional status, and this has a cardiovascular protective effect that can benefit the health of the EI.

The article discusses the issue of active aging strategies that differ from those used in traditional medicine. Practice shows that the resources of the latter are insufficient for successfully overcoming the systemic problems of people, growing with aging and maximum in old age. The accumulation of the problematic nature of the physical body in long-lived people requires a special, comprehensive approach to treatment with penetration into the root nature of a person. Based on innovative knowledge, including data from his own research, the author is talking about a synergistic approach that includes, along with the existing practice of treating the elderly, methods of informational- energetic medicine. Medicine, working at the level of the subtle, causal sphere of a person, where the roots of all his diseases lie and are revealed. This way of solving, the author believes, bears the maximum healing effect for the body on all levels of its multidimensionality – substance, information, energy.

Background: Health practitioners around the world are now dealing withincreasing health problems, including oral disease. One of them is tooth loss.Losing teeth can cause problems or disturbances in the main functions of teeth(mastication, aesthetics and phonetics). These conditions can be overcome byusing denture. If the loss of untreated teeth doesn�t restored using denture, it will cause the function of the missing tooth can not be restored, which will result in disruption of nutritional status and quality of life of the elderly. This study aimed to determine the relationship of tooth loss with nutritional status in elderly society in the Penatahan village Penebel Tabanan.Methods: The research was an observational analytic study with cross sectionalresearch design. Total sampling used with total sample 109 people. The datawere collected by filling the dental chart, measuring IMT and interview using theOHIP-14 questionnaire.Results: The results showed 65.1% respondents had loss <6 teeth, 42.2%respondents had obesity, 75.2% respondents observed poor quality of life. Dataanalyzed using kolmogorov smirnov obtained p = 0,952 for relationship betweentooth loss with nuturional status and p = 0.676 for relationship between useof denture with nutritional status. Chi square used to test relationship betweentooth loss with quality of life (p= 0,735) and use of denture with quality of lifeshowed p = 0,139.Conclusions: The conclusion is there is no relationship between tooth lossand use of denture with nutritional status and quality of life in elderly society inPenatahan Village Penebel Tabanan

The widespread expression saying that "loneliness is the No. 1 enemy of old age" has, in the 21st century, becomes obvious and banal now that suicide rates among the elderly in many countries and in Israel, the case study for this paper, is higher than among other age groups in those countries.Loneliness itself, its ramifications, consequences, and implications on the lives of the elderly have made it a dominant factor in terms of its potential damage.Old age and loneliness have been the subjects of many different definitions, studies and theories, but despite the quantity and quality of these attempts worldwide, and particularly in Israeli research, there is a conspicuous lack of any comprehensive plan that would address the implications and destructive effects of the loneliness experienced by the elderly. Many limited-scale programs exist on a local level, but they fail to address the clear need to eradicate menacing loneliness.The authors of this essay plan to outline basic principles for designing an operational concept for a national plan to combat the consequences and effects of depression among the elderly, using Israel as an example.This paper will begin with a review of the definitions and literature on the phenomenon of depression, and a review of the literature dealing with the unhealthy connection between old age and depression. We will then review various programs worldwide that deal with the phenomenon of loneliness and old age; continue to present data on the effects of loneliness on elderly Israelis; present various Israeli programs and projects that attempt to deal with this phenomenon; and conclude by detailing the proposed principles for a comprehensive operational approach that maps out this painful phenomenon in Israel and proposes a plan of action on how to best deal with it.

Abstract The number of population and life expectancy of elderly in Indonesia have increased every year. Health problems of elderly are associated with the environmental change and nutritional status that will affect for their quality of life. This research used a cross sectional approach and conducted in Bondowoso area with data at Tresna Werdha Social Service Bondowoso and elderly living in region of Maesan Public Health Centre. This research based on 72 respondents, consist of 36 respondents that living with  family and 36 respondents that living in PSTW. The sampling technique used Proportional Random Sampling. Methods of data used questionnaires adapted from WHOQOL-BREF. Data analyzed by Chi Square test (α = 0,05). The results showed that nutritional status of elderly living in PSTW were better than elderly living with their family (p<0,05). Quality of life according of physical health domain,  psychological domain, social relationships domain, and over all quality of life of elderly living with their family were better than the elderly living in PSTW (p <0.05). While on quality of life according to environment domain in elderly living with their family and PSTW have same result (p> 0,05).  Keywords: elderly,nutritional status, quality of life
