The pedestrian pathway can interact socially between communities. A pedestrian should be able to ensure safety and comfort as well as aesthetic value for pedestrians. The pedestrian pathway is crucial in urban design elements, especially in areas with high activity levels. As in Taman Setia Budi Indah Football Field, the existing pedestrian path is not able to accommodate its users. Both of the pedestrian materials and pedestrian supporting elements do not meet the elements of comfort and security and aesthetic value. The researcher tries to find modeling of a pedestrian path in that area which fulfills the element of comfort, safe and aesthetic value. The research method used is a qualitative method of observation. The method is analyzed based on theoretical analysis based on the comparison of the variable that has been determined. Through the theoretical analysis found several criteria pedestrian that meets the elements of comfort. The results of the analysis are then made modeling pedestrian paths around the Football Field in Taman Setia Budi Indah in the form of additional pedestrian width and other supporting elements such as seating, lighting, bins etc. to improve the safety and comfort for the walkers and utilization of river potentials in the area such as the attraction when walking.

Pedestrian paths are very important in urban design elements, especially trade areas. Similarly on Jl. Medan Railway Station and Jl. Medan Red Cross, but this need is not comparable to the conditions of the pedestrian path on both roads which have been damaged and not maintained, causing inconvenience. Because of this, the researchers tried to find the concept of the pedestrian path to the two roads. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method. Then the method is analyzed based on theoretical and empirical analysis. Through the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis found several results in accordance with the hypothesis of the researcher. The results of the analysis are then made anappropriate concept on Jl. Medan Railway Station and Jl. Medan Red Cross.

The long journey of ornamental activity decorates the ancestors of South Sumatra who have given birth to various kinds of ornaments which are a reflection of their culture and natural environment to get outside influences through animism and dynamism, Hinduism and Islamization. The transition of the era has a major contribution to the ornamental activities of the ancestors of South Sumatra who experienced development and change. Islamic teachings have a major influence on the function and creation of traditional house ornaments in the Al-Munawwar village of Palembang, this can be seen from the motifs used which are sourced from nature. In its realization, the motif has been stylized in shape, so that the ornaments produced differ greatly from the original form. Arab Al-Munawwar villagers use ornaments to add aesthetic value to their residential buildings. The use of these ornaments can be seen from several sides such as doors, windows, ventilation, walls, room dividers, poles and so on. Does not rule out the possibility in the form of traditional house ornaments Arab Al-Munawwar village stored messages and meanings that are interesting to explore. The study in this study focuses more on aesthetic values, with the aim of tracing the structure that builds and expresses the symbolic values implied in the traditional house ornaments of the Al-Munawwar Arabian village of Palembang. The research method used is a qualitative method, with analytic descriptive analysis. The data is then identified, classified, selected, then analyzed and interpreted according to the text and context. AbstrakMasyarakat Kampung Arab Al-Munawwar memanfaatkan ornamen untuk menambah nilai estetis dari bangunan tempat tinggal mereka. Penggunaan ornamen ini bisa dilihat dari beberapa sisi seperti pintu, jendela, ventilasi, dinding, penyekat ruangan, tiang dan lain sebagainya. Tidak menutup kemungkinan di dalam wujud ornamen rumah tradisional Kampung Arab Al-Munawwar tersimpan pesan dan makna yang manarik untuk di telusuri. Kajian dalam penelitian ini lebih menitikberatkan pada nilai estetika, dengan tujuan untuk menelusuri struktur yang membangun dan mengungkapkan nilai simbolik yang tersirat dalam ornamen rumah tradisional Kampung Arab Al-Munawwar Palembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif, dengan analisis deskriptif analitik. Data tersebut kemudian diidentifikasikan, diklasifikasi, diseleksi, selanjutnya dianalisis dan diinterpretasikan sesuai teks dan konteksnya.

This research aims to find out how the process of making the pattern using eco print technique and to find out the aesthetic value eco print pattern on the work of first year students of Hasan Al-Banna Class at SMP Swasta An-Nizam Medan 2019/2020 Period. The aesthetic value of the eco print pattern reviewed based on the process of leaves laying, beating technique and steaming cloth. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The population in this research contained of four students. The sample used in this research contained of three students, using the Slovin formula, which is included the population size and error tolerance. The result of the research showed that overall the level of aesthetic quality pattern produced using eco print technique by the students first year of Hasan Al-Banna Class SMP Swasta An-Nizam Medan reviewed based on the process of leaves laying, beating technique and steaming cloth get good category results. The novel Sepertiga Malam di Manhattan by Arumi E is very interesting to study. This novel is a novel about the struggle of a family to get happiness. This novel is the Arumi E's 27th newest novel. The struggle in this novel is to make the family happy, expecting for the baby. Before writing the novel, Arumi E did a research in the places written in the novel to achieve a very interesting fictional story and most of this story was taken from the traveling results so it was so interesting. The objective of this research is to describe (1) the Autopoetic System in the novel Sepertiga MalamdiManhattan by Arumi E. (2) The differentiation system in the Novel Sepertiga Malamdi Manhattan by Arumi E.The research method used is in the form of a descriptive qualitative method that uses a social system approach. The method used by the researcher is the dialectical method. The data source used in this research is the novel Sepertiga Malamdi Manhattan by Arumi E, published by Gramedia publisher in 2018. The data collection in this study uses the steps of reading the novel. To collect data, the researcher use any instrument.There are two results of the study: (1) The autopoetic system in the novel Sepertiga MalamdiManhattan by Arumi E. is concerning to some characters who have their own beliefs or rules in their lives who do not want to follow the rules of others, they are more confident in their own way to success and purpose of life. (2) The system of differentiation in the novel Sepertiga Malamdi Manhattan by Arumi E. is covering the handling of changes in the environment, the characters are able to adapt to the new environment, which has a different culture from the original culture. This shows evidence of the system autopoetic and differentiation in the novel Sepertiga MalamdiManhattan by Arumi E.

In the age of Industrial Revolution 4.0, human life is influenced by various of sophisticated technologies. One of them is social media that increasingly develop, and take some impacts in human life. The fact is there are some priests ignore their pastoral duty and this takes the result that the church is separated. Many of priests don’t live up to their calling as good shepherds. They cannot recognize the church members who entrusted to them by a bishop. This study focus on the influence of social media for a priest’s duty. The research method used in the issue is a qualitative method by using literature approach. I found out that a priest is a shepherd for members of catholic community. A priest ordained by a bishop to continue Christ duty. Social media can become a tool and an equipment for a priest to develop the spiritual life and ministry. The attendance of a priest is the presence Christ as a good shepherd for His sheeps.

The purpose of this research is to find out the product flow, financial flow and information flow in the management of the supply chain plate rack based on the existing supply chain so that the company can produce effectively and efficiently. The research method used is a qualitative method using a survey method that is to explain, describe and interpret a phenomenon that occurs in an object and qualitative data with the support of quantitative data. The results showed the company combining assembly material team, glass assembly team and final completion teams could accelerate production and limit cooperation with independent marketing to summarize the supply chain and prevent company losses.

Burger King is the one of the most successful fast food restaurant in the world. According to Wikipedia, there are 17,796 locations of Burger King all over the world in 2018. Burger King also has its Instagram account. Now this account has been followed by 1,6 million people and has posted 938 posts. That statistic shows that Burger King is active in social media especially in Instagram platform. The writer see the indication of the using of Persuasive Strategies because in promoting their product. In this research the writer wants to know the persuasive strategies that applied in Burger King’s Instagram post caption and the most used strategy. This research applied Qualitative Method as research method. This research has two findings, first, there are 13 strategies that appear in Burger King’s Instagram post caption they are, Anecdote, Assonance, Cliché, Connotation, Evidence, Everyday/Colloquial Language, Hyperbole, Imagery, Inclusive Language, Pun, Repetition, Rhetorical Question, and Simile. Second, the most used strategy is Everyday/Colloquial Language.

When cash-strapped local governments don’t provide adequate services, and planning policies prioritize economic development over community needs, what is a concerned citizen to do? In the help-yourself city, you do it yourself. The Help-Yourself City presents the results of nearly five years of in-depth research on people who take urban planning into their own hands with unauthorized yet functional and civic-minded “do-it-yourself urban design” projects. Examples include homemade traffic signs and public benches, guerrilla gardens and bike lanes, even citizen development “proposals,” all created in public space without permission but in forms analogous to official streetscape design elements. With research across 17 cities and more than 100 interviews with do-it-yourselfers, professional planners, and community members, the book explores who is creating these unauthorized improvements, where, and why. In doing so, it demonstrates the way uneven development processes are experienced and responded to in everyday life. Yet the democratic potential of this increasingly celebrated trend is brought into question by the privileged characteristics of typical do-it-yourself urban designers, the aesthetics and cultural values of the projects they create, and the relationship between DIY efforts and mainstream planning and economic development. Despite its many positive impacts, DIY urban design is a worryingly undemocratic practice, revealing the stubborn persistence of inequality in participatory citizenship and the design of public space. The book thus presents a needed critical analysis of an important trend, connecting it to research on informality, legitimacy, privilege, and urban political economy.

Physical activity is connected to public health in many ways, and walking is its most popular form. Modern planning models have been applied to cities to manage rapid urban expansions. However, this practice has led to low level of walkability and strong car-dependency in today’s cities. Hence, this study aims to provide a review of the most promising urban design parameters affecting walkability, using Frank Lawrence’s theory of “Objectively Measured Urban Form” (density, connectivity and accessibility, and mixed-use development) as the basis of discussion. The second part of this paper takes a case study approach, through discussing the main design elements of traditional Iranian cities (mosques, bazaars, residential quarters, and alleyways) and analyses their impacts on promoting walkability. This study concludes that incorporating inherent values of traditional urban design elements will complement modern planning and design practices.

The purpose of this study is to determine the meaning of coffee for Barista in specialty coffee shop. The concept used in this study is the concept of self-image or an individual image. The concept of self-image also explains the feelings and thoughts of individuals. The research method used is qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Whereas data collection is done by conducting observations, interviews and literature studies. The results of this study show that the meaning of coffee for Barista in specialty coffee shop is the deeper their understanding of knowledge about coffee, the stronger the meaning conveyed to their customers and also to increase the sense of self respect as Barista. Besides that, the interaction built between the Barista and the customers can also strengthen the characteristic of the coffee shops, which is to be the specialty coffee shop in the third wave era.
