The purpose of the article is to substantiate trends in the tourism activities in Ukraine and factors that create the negative image. The research is based on the dialectical method of scientific knowledge, methods of scientific abstraction, analysis and synthesis (while summarizing the factors that form the negative image of Ukraine and reduce its economic security); comparative analysis (while identifying the trends of tourism activity development in Ukraine during 2011-2017); statistical analysis (while studying the dynamics of the tourism industry in Ukraine during 2014-2017). As a result of the study, the trends of tourism activity development in Ukraine during 2011-2017 have been determined. The factors that form the negative image of Ukraine and reduce its economic security have been determined. The implementation of strategic measures for the development of the Ukrainian tourism industry will create a positive image of the country, stimulate the development of tourism in Ukraine, formation of attractive investment environment and strengthening of the country’s economic security.

The article deals with problems of economic and financial security ensuring both in companies and state. The Corruption Perceptions Index has been analyzed as one of the most important indicators in this sphere. The following research methods have been used: generalizing theoretical knowledge, comparison method, method of analysis and synthesis, statistical analysis, factual analysis. The authors give their own definitions to such concepts as “security”, “financial security of the enterprise”, “economic security of the enterprise”. There have been also systemized the threats to the economic security of the enterprise, as well as means of its strengthening. The rating of Ukraine according to the Corruption Perceptions Index has been identified. Also, the perspectives of future research have been defined.

Latvia and Belarus are small countries with limited scope of natural resources. However, the available mineral resources play important role in production of mineral products for domestic and foreign consumption. Main goal of the paper is to characterize the role of extraction industry in national economy and mineral products trade in two neighboring countries - Latvia and Belarus. To achieve the goal, the role of mining and quarrying industry in Latvia and Belarus was identified; trade of mineral resources in Latvia was analyzed. The main trends in the development of its own mineral resources of the Republic of Belarus were identified, the role of mineral resources in the commodity structure of foreign trade of the Republic of Belarus was shown, ways to increase the level of security of the country's own organic and mineral resources were determined, including the improvement of the legal framework. The research was performed in 2012; the following methods were used in the paper: comparative analysis and synthesis, statistical analysis and monographic methods.

The article reveals the problems and potential of development of international tourism activity in Ukraine. The position of the country in the international tourist services market is assessed and directions of increasing the international competitiveness of its tourism industry are offered.  The indicators of international tourism activity of Ukraine are analyzed. The possibility of improving the tourist brand of Ukraine in the international tourist environment has been proved.  Strategic measures for promotion of the country's tourism brand in the international tourist services market are determined. Recommendations on expansion of innovation activity of Ukrainian companies and introduction of promising types of tourist services for domestic and foreign consumers of tourist product are given.

The purpose of the article is to identify the problems inherent in the current stage of higher education in the field of economic security, on the basis of analysis and assessment of the state of personnel training for "Economic Security" specialty, and develop recommendations on the formation of an educational trajectory in the training of economic security professionals based on the principles of continuity education. When writing the article, both general scientific and special methods of scientific knowledge were used: scientific abstraction, dialectical, induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, detailing and generalization, systemic, comparative, sociological. Identified the problems of training of the specialists in the field of economic security. The analysis and assessment of the state of training of the personnel in the field of economic security is supported by the results of an empirical study carried out using a standardized questionnaire survey of students studying in this specialty. This allowed us to assess their motivation in choosing a profession related to economic security, to identify the positive and negative components of the educational process and to justify the recommendations for the formation of an educational trajectory aimed at long life learning.

The subject of research-theoretical concepts of economic security managementof universities. The purpose of the article. The study of the essence of the economicsecurity management system of the university and the definition of its main tasks,the formulation of principles of economic security management of the university.Methodology. The dialectical method, methods of analysis and synthesis, methodsof structural-logical and semantic analysis were used to study and summarizescientific papers on the research topic. The results of the work. The essence of theuniversity’s economic security management system has been reviewed. The maintasks of the control system have been identified. A definition of the university’seconomic security system has been proposed. Principles of management of economicsecurity of the university have been formulated. These are: scientific andorganizational and social principles. Conclusions. The proposed principles allow totake into account the economic role and social mission of universities in managingeconomic security.

The subject of the research is a set of approaches to the statistical analysis ofthe activities of small business entities in Ukraine, including micro-enterprises. The purpose of writing this article is to study of the features of functioningof small business entities in Ukraine. Methodology. The research methodology isto use a system-structural and comparative analysis (to study the change in thenumber of small enterprises by major components); monographic (when studyingmethods of statistical analysis of small businesses); economic analysis (when assessing the impact of small business entities on socio-economic phenomena andprocesses in Ukraine). The scientific novelty consists to determine the features ofthe functioning of small businesses in Ukraine in modern conditions. The influenceof the activities of the main socio-economic and political indicators on the activities of small enterprises in recent periods of time has been identified. It has beenestablished that there is flexibility in the development of strategies by small businesses in conditions of significant competition, which makes it possible to quicklyrespond to changing situations in specific markets. Conclusions. The use of acomprehensive statistical analysis of small businesses functioning in Ukraine willallow government agencies to develop a set of measures to optimize the activitiesof these enterprises, which ultimately will positively affect the strengthening oftheir competitiveness and will contribute to the growth of the national economicsystem.

Subject. The 2020 economic crisis has become a global threat to the economic security of States, corporations and households. The elimination of this threat to economic security is a key priority of the State. Objectives. The article is dedicated to factors of the current crisis, both individually and in aggregate, as well as forecasts of the economic development during the crisis. Methods. The study is based on the scientific knowledge as dialectic, a combination of historical and logical unity, structural analysis, traditional methods of economic analysis and synthesis. Results. We carried out the comparative analysis of crisis theories, forecasted the economic development of the IMF, the World Bank, the Audit Chamber, and considered analytical agencies in dynamics, taking into account adjustments when the crisis manifests itself. Counteraction methods are reviewed from theoretical and practical perspectives. The article also analyzed the international expertise in crisis management. Conclusions and Relevance. The economic crisis was found to be at its initial stage, with negative scenarios being more probable. Proposed and implemented, local measures can mitigate the economic decline, prevent massive bankruptcies and a social explosion. Meanwhile, measures to restructure the economic policy may contribute to overcoming the crisis. The findings can be used by federal government bodies to adjust economic policies, develop programs and strategies for the socio-economic development of regions, and economic security strategies for corporations.

Subject. To achieve a high level of economic security is a key priority of national development. Employment reveals one of the most important aspects of social development of the individual that is associated with his or her needs satisfaction in the sphere of employment and is boon to economic security. Objectives. The purpose of the study is to show the impact of unemployment on economic security in employment. Methods. I apply such scientific methods as dialectical, historical and logical unity, structural and functional analysis, traditional techniques of economic analysis and synthesis. The methods of multivariate statistical and comparative analysis serve as a methodological basis of the study. To determine the indicator of unemployment, I use the band theory. Results. I underpin the growing role of employment in ensuring economic security. The paper presents a comprehensive assessment of the unemployment status and a comparative analysis of the indicator in the Republic of Mordovia, the Volga Federal District, and the Russian Federation as a whole. I identify trends in the average duration of unemployment, show the distribution of unemployed by level of education and age groups. Conclusions. The average annual unemployment rate in the Republic of Mordovia is lower than in Russia and the Volga Federal District. The findings may be useful for public authorities to substantiate their employment policy at both macro- and meso-levels, for designing programs and strategies for socio-economic development of regions and the social security doctrine, as well as in practical activities of employment services.

Subject. This article deals with the issues relating to improving integrated reporting in terms of dovetailing strategic objectives with capital changes. Objectives. The article aims to develop a system of indicators for disclosure of capital types in integrated reporting of electricity generating companies, as well as recommendations aimed at implementing the fundamental concepts and guiding principles of integrated reporting. Methods. For the study, we used the methods of analysis and synthesis, comparison, generalization, and abstraction. As a case study, we conduct a comparative analysis of the disclosure of six types of capital by the largest electricity generating companies, namely PAO Inter RAO, AO Rosenergoatom and PAO RusHydro. Results. The article formulates proposals for disclosure of capital information to address such a lack of accountability as a contradiction to the principle of coherence. It proposes a system of indicators (core and additional) for disclosure of six types of capital by electricity generating companies. Conclusions. A significant reporting problem is the lack of correlation between key strategic objectives and capital changes. The formulated recommendations for disclosure of capital information can help solve this problem, and increase the attractiveness of the integrated report for capital providers.

Subject. This article deals with the theoretical and methodological issues of assessing the investment attractiveness of the advanced development areas. Objectives. The article aims to clarify the economic essence of the category Investment Attractiveness of Advanced Development Areas and related categories, and improve the methodological support to assess the investment attractiveness taking into account the characteristics of these areas. Methods. For the study, we used the methods of analysis and synthesis, generalization, analogy, classification, grouping, and systematization. Results. The article presents a methodology for assessing the investment attractiveness of the advanced development areas, taking into account indicators classified under three groups, namely investment potential, investment environment, and investment risk. It also offers recommendations to determine the type of investment attractiveness. Conclusions. Investment attractiveness, as a complex characteristic of the advanced development area, gets formed in the context of the influence of internal and external factors that are quantifiable and qualitatively assessed. To meet the needs of investors, a methodology that includes current assessment and forecasts is needed, indicating the areas of possible investment risk.
