Thyroid cancer has the highest prevalence of all endocrine malignancies, accounting for 1–3% of all human tumors. The incidence of differentiated thyroid cancer has increased globally in the last 10-20 years, faster than that of any other cancer type. The rising incidence has been observed in females, young adults, and children. The possible explanation might be the new achievements in diagnostic procedures, as thyroid ultrasonography and elastography, plus molecular testing and tumoral markers. Even though “over diagnosis” cannot be excluded, the increased incidence for all tumor sizes may suggest that other factors, such as lifestyle changes and environmental influences may contribute to a real increase.

The objective of the research was to obtain useful information on physical training for senior handball players, for this purpose we developed and applied a training plan designed to achieve a high level of physical training. Each test applied to athletes was relevant, in order to obtain useful information on physical training, for senior handball players. Specialization and differentiated treatment of players during training is a fundamental methodological orientation in modern sports training, required by the heterogeneous composition of groups of players in terms of somato-functional development and motor skills qualities. The research conclusions, obtained after applying the initial and final tests, indicate the need to apply training programs specific to the sport played, customized according to the specifics of the game, age and motor experience, to improve the physical training of senior handball players. A good physical condition and specific to the handball game is essential in the current handball game and offers the optimal conditions for obtaining sports performance. A contribution to the development of the training process has the training plan which establishes the objective, the share of specific training factors for each training stage. The means and methods exposed in the training program of the experiment group were successful, and its effect materialized through a real increase in motor skill indices. At the final test, the athletes included in the control group reported a relative and insignificant evolution of the specific physical condition, at the final tests for the evaluation of the specific physical condition obtaining a significant improvement of the results.

Background: Activated Clotting Time (ACT) guided heparinization is the gold standard for titrating unfractionated heparin (UFH) administration during atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation procedures. The current ACT target (300 s) is based on studies in patients receiving a vitamin K antagonist (VKA). Several studies have shown that in patients receiving Direct Oral Anticoagulants (DOACs), the correlation between ACT values and UFH delivered dose is weak. Objective: To assess the relationship between ACT and real heparin anticoagulant effect measured by anti-Xa activity in patients receiving different anticoagulant treatments. Methods: Patients referred for AF catheter ablation in our centre were prospectively included depending on their anticoagulant type. Results: 113 patients were included, receiving rivaroxaban (n = 30), apixaban (n = 30), dabigatran (n = 30), and VKA (n = 23). To meet target ACT, a higher UFH dose was required in DOAC than VKA patients (14,077.8 IU vs. 9565.2 IU, p < 0.001), leading to a longer time to achieve target ACT (46.5 min vs. 27.3 min, p = 0.001). The correlation of ACT and anti-Xa activity was tighter in the VKA group (Spearman correlation ρ = 0.53), compared to the DOAC group (ρ = 0.19). Despite lower ACT values in the DOAC group, this group demonstrated a higher mean anti-Xa activity compared to the VKA group (1.56 ± 0.39 vs. 1.14 ± 0.36; p = 0.002). Conclusion: Use of a conventional ACT threshold at 300 s during AF ablation procedures leads to a significant increase in UFH administration in patients treated with DOACs. This increase corresponds more likely to an overdosing than a real increase in UFH requirement.

Abstract In fact, politics is very noble, but because the practice of mutual benefit between unsrupulous and society has been prolonged in such a way, making politics increasingly stuck to negative connotations. Inevitably, politics is increasingly dirty, culpable, justimate all means, full of money politics, transactional, dynastic, to affairs that merely seize the power. Such reflections are clearly related to the ethics of all, whether society, politicians, government, who govern and governed, who elected and chooses, and so on. Thus cutting one of the links from the practice is an inevitability. This is what Badan Kesejahteraan Bangsa dan Politik of East Java Province did by conducting a relay of activities aimed at strengthening the role and participation of the sosiety in building political ethics, especially in representatives of social, religious, students and cadet reefs organizations of Probolinggo Regency and City. The two-day activity in Sukapura subdistrict synergized with several elements, such as the East Java Provincial People's Representative Council member, East Java Regional Police and local academics; FISIP University of Panca Marga Probolinggo. For us, this devotional activity should be measured. Pre and post-activity evaluation should be known for additional knowledge and enlightenment of understanding of the audience. The method used through the distribution of questionnaires contains several questions with the firmness of two choices of answers. The result is a real increase in understanding of the socialization participants with hope that they can be the vanguard in implementing and disseminating the material obtained to a wider audience, which can have an impact on improving public ethics both in general and political ethics. Keywords: strengthening roles and participation, political ethics.

This article aims to assess the income situation of households in Poland, considering the level of receipts and in[1]come as well as their dynamics and structure. An analysis was also carried out with respect to differences between particular socio-economic groups and between households depending on the number of persons in a household. The Gini coefficient was used for analytical purposes. Moreover, an attempt was made to identify the causes of income diversification. The analysis was carried out based on data derived from household budget surveys conducted by Statistics Poland. The research covered the period from 2000 to 2019 (individual years). The study showed a real increase in the average monthly net receipts and available income in all households. The most favour[1]able financial situation was observed in white-collar workers, self-employed persons and one-person households. The least favourable income situation was found in households of blue[1]collar workers and pensioners and households of six or more persons. However, attention should also be paid to changes taking place in the structure of sources of income generated by household members. There is an increase in income from hired work and social assistance benefits. The highest variations in receipts and available income were observed in households of farmers and those of six or more persons. In contrast, the smallest variations were recorded with respect to households of old-age pensioners and one-person households.

This document explores the incidence of the minimum wage in Lithuania. The descriptive analysis exploits high-frequency data on monthly labor income coming from Social Security records between July 2013 and July 2020 to characterize (i) the evolution of the monthly minimum wage, (ii) the percentage of workers who earn the minimum wage, (iii) the bite of the minimum wage in the wage distribution, and (iv) the heterogeneity of the findings with respect to gender and age. The evidence shows that the minimum wage was raised 7 times with an average (real) increase of 7.3% and, on average, less than 10% of the workers earn at most the minimum wage but low-pay incidence is around 20%. In terms of the impact of the wage distribution, the minimum wage relative to the average wage in the economy fluctuates between 45 and 50 percent. Females and young workers exhibit a larger low-pay incidence and minimum wage bite.

Technologies supporting the process of educating police personnel have become an indispensable element of the infrastructure of police schools. The primary source of financing for the technologies built is the National Center for Research and Development. In consultation with the Minister of National Defense and the minister competent for internal affairs, the institution carries out activities related to research for the benefit of state security and defense. In competitions for specifically defined research topics, projects that promise the most considerable real increase in national security are financed. The programs and projects being implemented aim not only to increase the Polish scientific and industrial entities’ potential but also to strive for technological independence by creating Polish “know-how” in critical technologies in the area of national security and defense. The article presents technologies supporting the training process of traffic officers developed by Polish scientific and industrial consortia. The first presented trainer is Simulator Supporting the Training of Police Officers in the Implementation of Activities at the Scene of a Road Accident (project no. DOB-BIO9/06/01/2018). On the other hand, the second training solution presented in the article is the Emergency Vehicle Driving Simulator During Typical and Extreme Operations (project no. OROB 001101/ID/11/1). The mentioned projects were co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development as part of a competition for the implementation and financing projects in the field of scientific research or development work for the national defense and security.

Abstract The aims were to evaluate and compare the total cost (TC) and feedlot cattle production cost index (ICBC) in the states of São Paulo (SP) and Goiás (GO) from April of 2017 until December of 2019. In addition, the progress of ICBC was compared with the General Price Index - Internal Availability (IGP-DI) in that same period. This research has been developed at the Laboratory of Socioeconomic Analyses and Animal Science (LAE) of the University of São Paulo (USP). The LAE monitors all the prices of basic inputs used in the feedlot system monthly these states and updates the data to create the ICBC. The feedlot of the states of SP and GO were delimited in three representative properties, two for SP (CSPm and CSPg) and one for GO (CGO). We found that among the evaluation period the accumulated inflation by the IGP-DI was 15.1%, while in the ICBC it was 22%, 21.7% and 38.3% for CSPm, CSPg and CGO, respectively. In other words, there was a real increase of 6.9%, 6.6% and 23.2%, in that same order, for farmers. CSPm, CSPg and CGO showed similar TC in April 2017 and September 2019. However, in October 2019 the TC per kg of live weight (LW) increased until the end of the evaluation period (December 2019), this being $3.52, $3.46 and $3.62 per kg of LW, respectively. Our findings on cost items increased more in the State of GO than SP. Purchase animals and the inputs of the diet were the main cost items that influence the TC. It was concluded that in the southeast and central-western regions of Brazil, farmers had real increases in their production costs in the feedlot. Furthermore, there was greater variability in ICBC compared to IGP-DI.
