Problem-solving has been recognized as a critical skill that students lack in the current education system, due to the use of algorithmic questions in tests that can be simply memorized and solved without conceptual understanding. Research on student problem-solving is needed to gain deeper insight into how students are approaching problems and where they lack proficiency so that instruction can help students gain a conceptual understanding of chemistry. The MAtCH (methods, analogies, theory, context, how) model was recently developed from analyzing expert explanations of their research and could be a valuable model to identify key components of student problem-solving. Using phenomenography, this project will address the current gap in the literature of applying the MAtCH model to student responses. Twenty-two undergraduate students from first-year general chemistry and general physics classes were recorded using a think-aloud protocol as they worked through the following open-ended problems: 1) How many toilets do you need at a music festival? 2) How far does a car travel before one atom layer is worn off the tires? 3)What is the mass of the Earth’s atmosphere? The original definitions of MAtCH were adapted to better fit student problem-solving, and then the newly defined model was used as an analytical framework to code the student transcripts. Applying the MAtCH model within student problem-solving has revealed a reliance on the method component, namely, using formulas and performing simple plug-and-chug calculations, over deeper analysis of the question or evaluation of their work. More important than the order of the components, the biggest differences in promoted versus impeded problem-solving are how students incorporate multiple components of MAtCH and apply them as they work through the problems. The results of this study will further discuss in detail the revisions made to apply MAtCH definitions to student transcripts and give insight into the elements that promote and impede student problem-solving under the MAtCH model.

This study aims to determine the results of social studies learning using a make a match model with the help of picture cards. This is shown from the results of the calculation of the posttest hypothesis test through the t-test at a significance level of 0.05, where tcount > ttable (4.25>1.994437) This result is strengthened by the achievement of the average score of students in the conventional learning class with the value of 76.2 while the make a match model obtained a value of 88.97. These results indicate that student activities can be categorized very well in using the make a match model with the help of picture cards.

Triple-drug therapies have transformed HIV from a fatal condition to a chronic one. These therapies should prevent HIV drug resistance evolution, because one or more drugs suppress any partially resistant viruses. In practice, such therapies drastically reduced, but did not eliminate, resistance evolution. In this article, we reanalyze published data from an evolutionary perspective and demonstrate several intriguing patterns about HIV resistance evolution - resistance evolves (1) even after years on successful therapy, (2) sequentially, often via one mutation at a time and (3) in a partially predictable order. We describe how these observations might emerge under two models of HIV drugs varying in space or time. Despite decades of work in this area, much opportunity remains to create models with realistic parameters for three drugs, and to match model outcomes to resistance rates and genetic patterns from individuals on triple-drug therapy. Further, lessons from HIV may inform other systems.

Most of the class IB students have difficulty in using and understanding Javanese vocabulary because students are not accustomed to using Javanese in their daily life. This Classroom Action Research aims to describe the increase in Javanese vocabulary mastery of class IB students at SD Negeri Jetis I for the 2018/2019 academic year through the Index Card Match learning model. Collecting data using the instrument of teacher and student activity observation sheets and student learning outcomes tests. The results of this study indicate that the increase in the average value of the first cycle class is 65 and the second cycle is 77 and the achievement of the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) for the first cycle the average value is 54% and for the second cycle the average value is 75%. Through the Index Card Match learning model, students carry out more focused activities, students' attention becomes more focused on learning objects, students more fluently answer the meaning of vocabulary from Javanese to Indonesian or vice versa.

Kata kunci: Kognitif, mengklasifikasikan benda , model take and give, model savi, metode drill                                          Abstract The ability to recognize good and bad behavior in children is not in accordance with the expected level of achievement, this is due to the teacher's side in the form of less class mastery, delivery of material which only uses lecture and question and answer methods. In addition, learning is also too dominated by teachers so that children become passive. To solve this problem, a combination of the Examples Non Examples model with the HeadTogether (NHT) Model Number and Make A Match can be done. This study aims to increase teacher activity, children's activities, and the development outcomes of children's religious and moral values. This classroom action research was carried out through 3 meetings. The results showed that by applying a combination of the Examples Non Examples model with the Number Head Together (NHT) and Make A Match model, teacher activity could increase up to 86%, children's activities reached 84%, and the results cognitive development of children reaches 85%. The results of this study can be used as an alternative in choosing a model in developing the ability of religious and moral values in early childhood. This research aims to describe the application of the model a make a match assisted by ESAPI media to improve student learning outcomes in grade IV SDN Wonoketingal 02. Classroom action research was conducted in class IV SDN Wonoketingal 02 with a research subject of 20 students. This study uses design classroom action research from Kemmis and MC. Taggart and last for 2 cycles. The independent variable of this study is the make a match model and ESAPI media, while the dependent variable in this study is student learning outcomes. Data collection methods used are qualitative and quantitative data. The result showed an increase in mastery learning outcomes aspects of knowledge in the first cycle of 73.3% and an increase in the second cycle of 77.2% in good qualifications. The completeness of both cycles is 3.9% with a good category. This proves that the application of the make a match model assisted by ESAPI media can improve student learning outcomes in grade IV SDN Wonoketingal 02.
