Introduction. Examining the disease’s connection with the occupation being the cornerstones in occupational health cannot be based on template solutions. When considering the aetiology of the disease, the entire document was the sanitary and hygienic characteristics of working conditions, the quality of which often determines the patient’s fate. Materials and methods. A retrospective analysis of the sanitary and hygienic characteristics of 647 inpatient medical records from 2013 to 2020, aimed at examining the relationship of the disease with the occupation: 562 cards with an established diagnosis, 85 - with an unspecified final diagnosis of an occupational disease. The contingent of the surveyed: 98.0% - employees of various industries and enterprises of the Republic of Bashkortostan, 2.0% - residents of other regions of the country, as well as the republic working in the Far North on a shift basis. Results. When preparing the characteristics in 73.0% of cases, the employees of Federal Service for Supervision in Protection of the Rights of Consumer and Man Wellbeing were based only on the data of a special assessment of working conditions, in which there was no complete information about the working conditions of the employee, which often leads to the inability to establish an occupational disease to the patient. In 7.0% of cases, the values of harmful industrial factors in the presented characteristics were on the border with the hygienic standard, which, with significant work experience and the presence of clear signs of occupational disease in the patient, also puts expert doctors in a difficult position. The situation mentioned above may be the cause of a legal dispute on the part of the employee if he refuses to establish an occupational illness and the employer if the issue is resolved positively for the employee. The reasons for delaying the terms of the examination were the need to request additional documents in connection with the data provided in the characteristics on the nature of the influencing harmful factors, based only on literary sources. Non-compliance with the deadlines for submitting the attributes to the Center of Occupational Pathology was observed in almost 100.0 % of cases. In 75.0% of cases, employees signed it without receiving explanations of quantitative and qualitative indicators. Conclusion. There is an urgent need to review the methodological approaches to compiling sanitary and hygienic characteristics of working conditions, develop an algorithm for its preparation, and the level of responsibility of all stakeholders for the quality of the document.

Occupational illness is a disease that arises as a result of exposure to risk factors derived from work. Occupational diseases become one of the diseases that can be experienced by workers in their work, occupational diseases caused by work attitudes can be influenced by improper activities, such as misplaced when bagging fish by not using personal protective equipment so that the risk of dermatitis disease occurs in fish traders in traditional markets. This study aims to find out the factors associated with contact dermatitis due to the work of fish traders in the traditional market of the city of asahan district range. This research is quantitative research with cross sectional sighs conducted in the traditional market of the city range. The population in this study was all fish traders with a total of 52 workers. Samples taken by a total of 34 fishing workers were taken using purposiv sampling techniques. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The test used in this study is using chi-square test. From the results of statistical calculations, if the value of p ≤ α (0.05) means that the hypothesis in this study is shouted that there is a relationship of work attitude, length of work and working period with the incidence of box dermatitis directly on fish traders in the traditional market of the city in the range of 2020. Based on the results of the above research is recommended for the promotion of health and safety, especially regarding the correct work attitude and the dangers of direct contact dermatitis disease that can be experienced more intensively such as holding cooperation between the health service to conduct counseling and for workers to use personal protective equipment such as rubber gloves used as appropriate.

It is estimated that we spend one-third of our lives at work. It is therefore vital to adapt traditional equipment and systems used in the working environment to the new technological paradigm so that the industry is connected and, at the same time, workers are as safe and protected as possible. Thanks to Smart Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and wearable technologies, information about the workers and their environment can be extracted to reduce the rate of accidents and occupational illness, leading to a significant improvement. This article proposes an architecture that employs three pieces of PPE: a helmet, a bracelet and a belt, which process the collected information using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques through edge computing. The proposed system guarantees the workers’ safety and integrity through the early prediction and notification of anomalies detected in their environment. Models such as convolutional neural networks, long short-term memory, Gaussian Models were joined by interpreting the information with a graph, where different heuristics were used to weight the outputs as a whole, where finally a support vector machine weighted the votes of the models with an area under the curve of 0.81.

Majority of industrial injuries continue to be caused by the human factor due to a low level of occupational safety culture. The international practice of forming the high culture of industrial safety has become widespread in the behavioral safety audit procedure, the implementation of which considers the methodological foundations of ISO 45001:2018 code Occupational health and safety management systems. Requirements and recommendations for use in the context of any of the selected business processes of the organization. In this study, based on the results of processing 1505 behavioral safety audits conducted at the gas transmission company, 4572 violations of employee actions and conditions at their workplace were identified. When analyzing the distribution of violations according to the observation criteria, it was established that the prevailing number of violations falls into three observation categories: Actions of employee/employees, Reaction of employee/employees and Workplace. Using statistical data processing, a correlation dependence was established between the number of detected violations and the category of observation. Analysis of the actions of employees and the conditions at their workplace allows to establish the potential severity of the consequences of violations for each type of incident and is an integral part of practical implementation of the concept of a risk-oriented approach of the industrial safety management system. Quantitative assessment of behavioral safety audit procedure results makes the industrial safety management system more adaptive, oriented on the research of the role of the human factor in the prevention of potential threats and detection of potential opportunities for the development of the organization. This contributes to ensuring the achievement of an acceptable corporate level of industrial safety culture, improvement of working conditions, and as consequence, reduction of occupational injuries and occupational illness.

AbstractParticle accelerator centres and research institutions, as other branches of industry and business, bear hazards and risks for accidents and occupational illness for workers. On a larger scale, professional activities may harm the environment and the public living in the vicinity of the plant. After this book has highlighted some of the scientific and technical challenges of occupational safety at accelerators, this closing chapter describes how the safety process works, and how and by which means safety is organised in complex structures. The chapter closes with beam safety and functional safety, two areas where technical hazards are controlled by organisational processes.
