This study aims to determine the quality of Bali cattle spermatozoa diluted using sugarcane juice-egg yolk. This research was carried out in the stables and Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Timor in August-September 2020. Semen was collected from an adult male bali cattle, aged ± 4.5 years in healthy condition. The method used in this study is an experimental method using a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Each treatment was T1: 0.075 ml semen + 0.3 ml of egg yolk sugarcane juice diluent and stored for 24 hours, T2: semen 0.075 ml + 0.3 ml of diluent for egg yolk cane juice and stored for 48 hours, T3: semen 0.075 ml + 0.3 ml of diluent for egg yolk sugarcane juice and stored for 72 hours, T4: semen 0.075 ml + 0 ,3 ml of egg yolk sugarcane juice diluent and stored for 96 hours. The variables measured were individual motility, viability, spermatozoa abnormalities, and semen pH. The results showed that the T4 treatment on a shelf life of 96 hours still showed a good average value with individual spermatozoa motility values of 45%, spermatozoa viability of 77.3%, spermatozoa abnormalities of 12.5% and semen pH 6.6. It can be concluded that the use of cane juice-egg yolk diluent has a positive impact because it is able to maintain the viability of spermatozoa for 96 hours.

This study aims to determine the effect of calcium supplementation in feed on the blood profile of broilers chickens. This research was conducted in a broiler chicken coop, owned by breeders in Sasi Village, Kefamenanu City  District, North Central East District. This research was conducted from July to August 2020. This study used 96 broilers. The method used in this was a completely randomized design consisting of 4 replications and 4 treatments. The treatments given were T0 (control diet), T1 (calcium supplementation 1,00 %), T2 (calcium supplementation 1,50 %), T3 (calcium supplementation 2,00 %). The variables observed in this study were the content of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, and blood leucocytes. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance. Analysis of variance showed that the treatment had no significant effect on erythrocytes, hemoglobin, and leucocytes of broiler chickens. It was concluded that the addition of calcium in feed at different levels did not increase the content of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, and leucocytes of broiler chickens aged 6 weeks.

This research aims to determine the performance of the beef processing industry in Kefamenanu City District and to analyze the amount of added value generated from beef processing in Kefamenanu City District. This research was conducted in the MSMEs VIVI meat processing industry, Kefamenanu City District, North Central Timor Regency. This study used the Surfei method with quantitative descriptive analysis. The variables observed were the performance of the meat processing industry and the added value of beef processing. The application of the balanced scorecard concept in analyzing the performance of VIVI MSMEs shows that from a financial perspective it has a good performance with an infinite CR value; average NPM 8,216%; an average ROA of 15,39% and an average ROI of 2,24 times of the investment value. From the customer perspective, it has a good performance with 51,49% of general customers who are satisfied and 49,79% of partner customers who are satisfied. For the perspective of internal business processes and the perspective of learning and growth have a good performance, respectively, with a value of 60,76% and 54,86%, respectively. It is concluded that the value added of beef products per kilogram of output is Rp. 48.060.00 for shredded products and beef jerky products of Rp. 37.551.00.

         This study aims to determine the effect of using different levels of thinner olive oil (extra virgin olive oil) on the viability and abnormality of spermatozoa and the pH of the semen of duroc pigs. The research took place in September 2020 in Noenebu, Tapenpah Village, Insana District, North Central Timor Regency, and the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Timor. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications.  Treatment R1 consist of 10% tris solution, 10% olive oil, 80% semen; R2 treatment consist of 15% tris solution, 15% olive oil, 70% semen; R3 treatment consist of 20% tris solution, 20% olive oil, 60% semen, and R4 treatment consist of 25% tris solution, 25% olive oil, 50% semen. The results showed that the effect of different treatments was very significant (P <0.01) on the viability of spermatozoa. The mean spermatozoa viability of each treatment was R1 of 89 ± 2.57%, R2 of 76.9 ± 12.51%, R3 of 62.8 ± 3.11%, and R4 treatment of 41.2 ± 15, 38%. The spermatozoa abnormalities were significantly different (P <0.05). Where the abnormality of the spermatozoa in treatment R1 was 8.8 ± 1.30%, R2 was 10.4 ± 1.67%, R3 was 11.6 ± 1.81%, and R4 was 14.4 ± 3.78%. The degree of acidity (pH) of the semen was not significantly different between treatments. The pH value of each treatment was R1 of 7.92 ± 0.83, R2 of 8.04 ± 0.54, R3 of 7.96 ± 0.39; and R4 treatment of 8.06 ± 0.64. It can be concluded that the addition of 10% to 20% olive oil can maintain the viability and abnormality of duroc boar male spermatozoa. However, the use of olive oil up to 20% does not affect to degree of acidity of the semen produced.

This study aims to determine the effect of shelf life of duroc boar semen which was diluted using tris-egg yolk-coconut water thinner on the value of viability, abnormality, and acidity (pH). The semen used is in the form of fresh semen from 2-year-old duroc pigs. Semen was collected by a manual method using artificial broodstock. This research was conducted in November 2020 using an experimental method according to the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) procedure with 4 treatments and 4 replications so that there were 16 experimental units. Each treatment is P0: storage of semen for 0 hours, P1: storage of semen for 24 hours, P2: storage of semen for 36 hours, P3: storage of semen for 48 hours. The results showed that the use of tris-egg yolk-coconut water diluent had a significant effect (P <0.05) on viability, abnormality, and degree of acidity (pH). The mean value of spermatozoa viability was P0: 96%, P1: 93.75%, P2: 84.5%, and treatment P3: 79.5%. The mean value of spermatozoa abnormality in treatment P0: 5.25%, P1: 6.5%, P2: 11.25%, and treatment P3: 14.75%. The average value of the degree of acidity (pH) of semen P0: 8.3 P1: 7.2; P2 7,3 and P3 treatment: 7,25. It can be concluded that the dilution of semen using tris-egg yolk and coconut water can maintain the value of viability, abnormalities of spermatozoa, and degree of acidity (pH).

This study aimed to determine the effect of noni fruit extract on the internal quality, foam index, and haugh unit of layers eggs. This research has been carried out at the Chemistry Laboratory of Widya Mandira University Kupang, and the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Timor, Kefamenanu during February 12, until March 25, 2020. This study used eggs of layer chicken, each treatment using 25 eggs. The method used was a completely randomized design with a one-way pattern consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments given were T0 (control), T1 (2 ml noni fruit extract), T2 (4 ml noni fruit extract), T3 (6 ml noni fruit extract), and T4 (ampicillin). The variables observed were egg weight, air sac diameter, albumen height, egg yolk index, foam leakage, foam index, and Haugh unit. The results of statistical analysis showed the effect of noni fruit extract on egg weight, air sac diameter, foam leakage, foam index, and Haugh unit value. The mean value of each variable showed that the 6 ml (T3) noni extract treatment was better than the other treatments (T0, T1, T2, and T4). It was concluded that to maintain egg quality for up to 21 days, could be preserved with a concentration of 6% noni fruit extract.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of immersion using liquid smoke with different concentrations on the germination viability of Indigofera zollingeriana. The design used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments: A0 = 0% liquid smoke, A20 = 20% liquid smoke, A40 = 40% liquid smoke, A100 = 100% liquid smoke, each treatment with 4 replications. The parameters observed were the germination viability, mean germination time, and mean daily germination. ANOVA analysis showed that the treatment had a significant effect on germination viability but insignificant on the germination rate and mean germination time. Treatment A0 was the treatment with the highest germination viability (75%), but the highest germination rate (0.34 cm/day) was in treatment A20. The higher the concentration of liquid smoke, the lower the germination viability, the germination rate and the mean germination time.

The experiment was conducted for 3 months using nine (9) males Bali Cattle ages 2,5 - 3,5 or an average of 3.0 years old based on teeth estimated with initial body weight range is 227-290 kg or an average of 257.40±23,60 kg in the Fattening Stalls, Bero Sembada Farmers Group, Laen Manen Sub District, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This research is adapted to the practice of ranchers in fattened cattle that includes management of feeding, housing, and health. The type of feed given during the study was Centrosema pubences, Clitoria ternatea, Fresh Corn Straw, Kinggras, Leucaena leucocepala, Natural Grass, Elephant Grass, and Turi. The results of the research showed that the Bali cattle male finishing phase on fattening with forage, yield dry matter intake (kg/head/day) reached 7.079 or 2.509 % of BW, while the crude protein and organic material intake respectively 1.053 and 6.440 (kg/head/day). Digestibility coefficients of dry matter were 56.68%, crude protein 69.86%, and organic matter 68.83%. It can be concluded that the use of forage on fattening male Bali cattle by ranchers was the produce dry matter intake, crude protein, and organic matter are high quite but gives relatively low digestibility.

The experiment goal was to determine the supplementation effect of katuk leaves meal and Zn bio complex on dry and organic matter consumption and digestibility of postweaning male of Ettawa Crossbred. The experiment used sixteen heads of the postweaning male of Ettawa Crossbred aged 4-5 months with an initial body weight of 9.01±1.85kg (CV 20.55%). Completely Block Randomized Design (CBRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications were applied in this experiment. Those treatments were P0: Lamtoro + concentrate without katuk leaves meal and Zn biocomplex (control); P1: P0 + 5% katuk leaves meal (on the basis of forage dry matter)  and Zn bio complex; P2: P0 + 10% katuk leaves meal (on the basis of forrage dry matter) and Zn bio complex; P3: P0 + 15% katuk leaves meal (on the basis of forage dry matter) and Zn bio complex. Variables measured were dry matter (DM) consumption, organic matter (OM) consumption, DM digestibility, and OM digestibility. Average of DM  consumption were P0 (326.68 ±44.13g/h/d), P1 (351.68±63.47g/h/d), P2 (351.78±33.41g/h/d) and P3 (346.24±32.48g/h/d). Average of OM consumption were, P0 (300.38 ±41.14g/h/d), P1 (316.11±57.05g/h/d), P2 (315.54±30.83g/h/d) and P3 (309.21±29.00g/h/d). Average of DM digestibility, P0 (78.94 ±4.67%), P1 (78.77±9.54%), P2 (64.82±11.45%), P3 (75.38±14.56%). Average of OM digestibility, P0 (81.17±4.01%), P1 (80.77±8.69%), P2 (68.79±9.90%), and P3 (76.93±12.77%). The result of variance analysis showed that treatment has a significant effect (P<0.05) on dry and organic matter consumption but no significant (P>0.05) on dry and organic matter digestibility It can be concluded that supplementation of of katuk leaf meal (Sauropus androgynus L. Merr) at 5% up to 15% and Zn bio complex might increase dry and organic matter consumption of postweaning male of Ettawa crossbred.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of boiling time on the chemical, organoleptic properties of pork skin crackers. The materials used in this study were pork skin, lime solution, seasonings and cooking oil. The design used was a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were boiling for 5 minutes (R0), boiling time for 10 minutes (R1), boiling time for 15 minutes (R2), and boiling time for 20 minutes (R3). The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on protein content, fat content, collagen, and organoleptic tests which included color, taste, crispness, level of preference, and shape of pork skin crackers. In conclusion, boiling can be done for 5 - 20 minutes, but to produce optimal skin crackers, boiling can be done for 15-20 minutes.
