This study aims to determine the effect of calcium supplementation in feed on the blood profile of broilers chickens. This research was conducted in a broiler chicken coop, owned by breeders in Sasi Village, Kefamenanu City  District, North Central East District. This research was conducted from July to August 2020. This study used 96 broilers. The method used in this was a completely randomized design consisting of 4 replications and 4 treatments. The treatments given were T0 (control diet), T1 (calcium supplementation 1,00 %), T2 (calcium supplementation 1,50 %), T3 (calcium supplementation 2,00 %). The variables observed in this study were the content of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, and blood leucocytes. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance. Analysis of variance showed that the treatment had no significant effect on erythrocytes, hemoglobin, and leucocytes of broiler chickens. It was concluded that the addition of calcium in feed at different levels did not increase the content of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, and leucocytes of broiler chickens aged 6 weeks.

Blood profile and organ weights of broilers fed variously processed Mucuna seed meal were investigated.A total of 120 day old broiler chickens were used. There were 4 treatments each replicated into 3 with 10 birds per replicate in a completely randomized design(CRD). Four treatment diets were formulated.Diet1served as control containing raw Mucuna, whilediets 2, 3, and 4 had boiled Mucuna, Mucuna boiled with ankanwu and boiled Mucuna mix with enzyme, respectively added to them. The birds were allowed 7 days to get stabilized before being randomly assigned to the experimental diets that lasted for 49 days. There were no significant (P>0.05) differences in the organ weights except for intestine, spleen and lungs. The value of the intestine ranged from 4.30% (D4) to 5.20% (D2). D4 was significantly ((P<0.05) lower than D2 butcompared favourably with D1 (4.51)and D3 (4.62). Significant ((P<0.05) differences existed only in haemoglobin and mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC). The MCHC values ranged from 30.67 in D4 to 34.69% in D2. The value for D4 was significantly (P<0.05) lower than those of D1, D2, and D3 which was not significantly (P>0.05) different. The Hb and MCHC were significantly (P<0.05) affected by the processing of MSS. Total protein, albumin, urea, creatinine, globulin and alkaline phosphatase were significantly (P<0.05) affected by the processing method employed in conclusion it is observed that 5% inclusion of Mucuna either raw or processed to broiler chicken diets does, does not have any deleterious effect on them health wise since blood and organs characteristics are used to measure the health status of animal.

A total of (120) day old Bounty Fresh colored broiler chickens were carried out in a completely randomized design to evaluate the effect of different levels of oregano leaf meal (OLM) on the growth performance at a dietary levels of 0, 3 ,6 and 9% respectively.   Results showed significant in terms of cumulative feed consumption, gain weight and feed conversion ratio. Broilers given 6% of level of oregano (T3) had the heaviest body weight on the seven week of age with a mean 1955.25 grams while the lightest was those broilers without the supplementation of oregano leaf meal (T1) with a mean of 1743.75 grams. The inclusion of OLM as fed diet were the most efficient feed converter and therefore, has the potential to increase rapid growth and improve vitality and livability of colored broiler chicken. Insignificant result was obtained in terms of the percentage rate of growth, dressing percentage with and without giblets and feed conversion ratio as revealed by the analysis of variance. However, in terms of the income over feed and chick costs, Colored broiler chicken fed with 6% oregano leaf meal had the highest return of Php 88.89 and the lowest return was those broilers without oregano with a return of Php 50.47.The results suggest that OLM at 6% level can be safely used as feed ingredients to the broilers without any deleterious effect.

This study was aimed at evaluating the nutritive value of different sources of energy in broiler chicken diets on the growth performance and haematological parameters of broiler chickens. Five isonitrogenous and isocaloric diets (23.17% CP; 2831 Kcal/ME; 21.73% CP; 2929Kcal/ME) for the broiler starter (0-4 weeks) and finisher phases (5-8 weeks), respectively were formulated. Treatment 1 is the control diet while treatments 2, 3, 4 and 5were sorghum, pearl millet, cassava and sweet potatoes based diets, respectively. A total of 225, 1 day-old NAPRI X broiler chicks were randomly allotted to the five treatments with three replicates each in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Data were subjected to ANOVAα0.05 . Conventional supplements have been criticised for their potential negative impact on the  food chain. Poultry researchers and nutritionists have been searching for viable alternative  feed additives. Poultry production is still facing challenges of diseases and a lot of research  are still on going. This study was carried out to investigate the effects of garlic (Allium  sativum) supplementation on the blood profile of broiler chicken. One hundred and fifty-day  old Marshal strains of broiler chicken were assigned to five dietary treatments with thirty  birds in a Completely Randomized Design. The thirty chicks were subdivided into three  replicates of 10 birds each. Feed and water were offered ad libitum and mortality was  recorded as it occurred. Blood were collected from two birds per replicate to determine  haematological and serum biochemical responses. No significant (p>0.05) difference was  observed in the haematological response and serum biochemistry profile of broilers fed  experimental diets, with the exception of the Cholesterol level which significantly (p<0.05)  decreased as the level of inclusion of the garlic increased, with the control diet having the  highest value (135.38mg/dL) while the least value (129.80mg/dL) was obtained from diets  containing 0.8% inclusion of garlic. Therefore, the inclusion of garlic (Allium sativum) in the  diets of broiler chicken had no deleterious effects on the blood profile of the experimental  birds but improved the cholesterol level of the birds at the inclusion level of 0.4g/ton of feed.

An eight-week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of substituting maize with indomie waste meal on the haematology and serum biochemical indices of 90-dayold Anak 2000 broiler chickens. Three experimental broiler starter and finisher diets were formulated with diet 1 serving as control containing 0% Indomie waste meal (IWM), while diets 2 and 3 contained IWM at 50 and 100% inclusion levels for maize. The chicks were randomly assigned to the three treatment diets (1, 2 and 3) in a completely randomized design and each treatment group contained three replicates with ten chickens per replicate. The result on the haematological indices revealed that MCV values were significantly influenced (p<0.05) by the treatment diets with highest value of (135.50±0.21fl) among birds fed 50% IWM. MCH also significantly varied(p<0.05) among birds fed the treatment diets with highest (42.77±0.31pg) recorded among birds maintained on the control diet. Serum biochemical indices revealed that phosphorus value were significantly higher (p<0.05) in birds fed the control diet with the mean value of 3.63±0.09mg/100ml. Total cholesterol was significantly higher (p<0.05) in birds fed 100% IWM. The overall results from this study conclusively suggest that the inclusion of indomie waste meal in the diet of broilers up to 100% did not have any detrimental effect on the blood profile of the birds. But precaution had to be taken in the incorporation of IWM at this level because of the increase effect on the cholesterol level of the blood.Mr. Omoikhoje, B. (Laboratory Technologist)

The study aims to analyze the blood profile of broilers fed with fishmeal with different levels. The study used a complete randomized design (RAL) 4 treatments and 4 replays with 2 chickens as an experiment and broiler chickens as many as 100 heads, the treatment in the study was P0= Control (commercial feed BP11), P1 = 43 % Yellow Corn + 21% Bran + 27% CAB + 9% FishMeal, P2 = 43% Yellow Corn + 23% Bran + 22% CAB + 12% Fishmeal, P3 = 43% Yellow Corn + 25% Bran + 17% CAB + 15% Fishmeal with observed parameters is leukocyte differential. The results of the study with feeding containing fishmeal levels differed markedly (P<0.05) on the value of eosinophils, but had no real effect (P>0.05) on the value of hematocrit, lymphocytes, heterophiles, monocytes, basophils and H / L values.

Abstract This research was conducted to study the effects of cat whiskers leave juice (Orthosiphon stamineus Benth) (OLJ) on the dressing percentage, giblet, and abdominal fat of broiler chicken. The research used 100 chicks which were reared for five weeks. At the end of the fifth week, 40 chickens were slaughtered as samples. The diets consisted of a commercial ration with 2900 kcal.kg−1 metabolizable energy and 22% protein. The drinking water consisted of different levels of OLJ (0, 10, 20, 30 mL/L). A Completely Randomized Design was used in this research with 4 treatments and 5 replications. Dressing percentage, liver, heart, gizzard, and abdominal fat were observed. The data were analysed by Analysis of variance/ANOVA. The result showed that OLJ significantly (P<0.01) affected live bird’s weight, but not significantly different (P>0.05) for dressing percentage, giblet, and abdominal fat of broiler chicken. On broiler chicken, administration of 10 mL/L OLJ significantly (P<0.01) decreased the live bird’s weight compared to control (0 mL/L OLJ). However, drinking 20 mL/L and 30mL/L cat whiskers juice were not significantly different. The conclusion is that the broiler chicken could tolerate up to 30 mL/L cat whiskers leaves juice.

Growth performance, carcass characteristics and economics of broiler chicken fed graded levels of raw Mucuna sloanei seed meal were investigated. A total of 150, 1- day old broiler chickens were used. There were five treatments each replicated into three with 10 birds per replicate in a completely randomized design. Five treatment diets were formulated. Diet 1served as control, while diets 2, 3, 4, and 5 had 5, 10, 15, and 20 %, respectively of raw mucuna seed meals (RMSM) added to them. The experiment lasted 49 days. The parameters considered were growth performance, carcass characteristics and economics of production. For growth performance, the result revealed that RMSM significantly (P<0.05) depressed growth as the levels of inclusion of RMSM increased from 0 to 20%. There were significant differences (p<0.05) in all the parameters considered under growth except for initial body weight and mortality. There was progressive loss in final body weight as the level of mucuna inclusion increased from 0% to 20%. Control recorded the highest live body weight of 3023.30g while, birds fed diet with 20% mucuna had the least body weight of 504.43g. Among the birds placed on the test diets, birds fed diet with 5% mucuna seed meal performed significantly (P<0.05) better (1840.00g) than other test diets. Birds fed diets with 10 and 15% mucuna had final body weight of 1180.00 and 726.67g, respectively. The progressive l oss in weight was obvious early in the experiment and at 8 weeks of age the broiler fed 20% raw mucuna. Mucuna sloanei based diet weighed only 504.43g (16.68% of the control) as against 1840.00, (60.86% of the control) for that fed 5%.mucuna. Percentage dressed weight and percentage breast and thigh were significantly (P<0.05) higher for chicken fed control diet. 10% level of raw MSSM gave highest value for drumstick (14.91%) while control gave the least (13.00%). 5% raw MSSM (27. 71%) compared favourably with control (30.60%) for breast cut. Gross margin significantly decreased from N1459.80 for control diet to N 14.20 for D5 as the percentage inclusion of MSSM increases from 0 to 20%. In conclusion, birds fed raw Mucuna sloanei seed meal diet could not compare favourably with those fed soya bean based diets even at 5% level of inclusion. Processing is therefore recommended to enhance performance.

Abstrak.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian prebiotik Immuno Forte dengan level berbeda terhadap berat dan persentase karkas ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP) Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh, pada tanggal 22 Agustus sampai 19 September 2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan 100 ekor (DOC) ayam broiler CP 707 Strain Arbor Acres produksi PT. Charoen Pokphand. Ransum yang digunakan adalah ransum komersial R511 Hy-provite priode starterdan R512 Bravo priode finisher. Perlakuan yang diberikan terdiri dari : P0 (0 ml Immuno forte/3 l air ), P1 (0,5 ml Immuno forte/3 l air), P2 (1 ml Immuno forte/3 l air), P3 (1.5 ml Immuno forte/3 l air) dan P4 (2 ml Immuno forte/3 l air). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi berat akhir, berat karkas, persentase karkas, berat potongan karkas dan persentase potongan karkas ayam broiler. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan prebiotik Immuno forte belum memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap berat  karkas ayam broiler. Penambahan prebiotik immuno forte dalam air minum berpengaruh nyata terhadap berat sayap, persentase sayap dan berat punggung ayam broiler, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap berat hidup, berat karkas, persentase karkas, berat dada, persentase dada, berat paha, persentase paha, berat punggung dan persentase punggung ayam broiler umur 28 minggu. Prebiotics Giving Effect Immuno Forte With Different Level of Carcass Weight and Percentage Broiler Chikens Abstract. This study aimed to determine the effect of prebiotics Immuno Forte with different levels of the weight and the percentage of broiler chicken carcasses. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Husbandry Field (LLP) Faculty of Agriculture, University of Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh, on August 22 to 19, 2015. This study used 100 individuals (DOC) CP 707 broilers Arbor Acres strain produced by PT. Charoen Pokphand. Rations used was a commercial ration Hy-provite R511 and R512 starter period Bravo period finisher. Treatments consisted of: P0 (0 ml Immuno Forte / 3 l water), P1 (0.5 ml Immuno Forte / 3 l water), P2 (1 ml Immuno Forte / 3 l water), P3 (1.5 ml Immuno Forte / 3 l water) and P4 (2 ml Immuno forte / 3 l water). The design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The parameters observed final weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, pieces of carcass weight and the percentage of broiler chicken carcass pieces. The results showed the addition of prebiotics Immuno Forte has not been a positive influence on broiler chicken carcass weight. The addition of prebiotics immuno forte in drinking water significantly affect the weight of the wing, the percentage of the wings and heavy backs broiler chickens, but did not significantly affect live weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, heavy chest, the percentage of the chest, heavy thighs, the percentage of thigh, severe back and backs percentage broilers aged 28 weeks

Plant origin feeds contain some important nutrients that are not available to poultry due to their inability to analyze them and benefit from them. An experiment was fulfilled to study the performance of broiler chicken using supplemented diets with four levels of phytase enzyme 0.0 FTU/kg feed (T1), 500 FTU/kg feed (T2), 1000 FTU/kg feed (T3) and 1500 FTU/kg feed (T4). A completely randomized design (CRD) using four treatments, with three replicates each with 12 Ross 308 male chicks, was performed. Results indicated significant (P≤0.05) differences in feed intake (FI), body weight (BW) and feed conversion ratio (FCR). The highest feed consumption was recorded with (T1), where (T4) recorded the highest body weight and best FCR followed by (T3, T2 and T1) respectively. There were significant (P≤0.05) differences in carcasses, gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and the associated parts weights, and some GIT organs lengths. However, other parts including heads, necks, shanks and abdominal fat weights were non-significantly (P>0.05) different. There were no significant (P>0.05) differences in individual sensory evaluation attributes (taste, flavor, color and tenderness), but there were significant differences in overall sensory evaluation. There were no significant differences in the mortality rates among treatments. However, there were significant (P≤0.05) differences in the economics appraisal were (T4) recorded the least cost and the highest revenue. It reveals that using the (1500FTU/kg) level of phytase enzyme had performance parameters and economic appraisal. It could be concluded that supplementing broiler chicken diets with (1500FTU/kg) is good for production performance and returns.
