Mathematical model has been proposed for some system that involves a brushed DC motor and it is widely used in industry. Brushed DC motor ideals for applications with a low- torque, manage to change pace or speed and it is widely used in many applications such as x-y table positioning system, conveyor systems and other system that required to use the features that brushed DC motor have. Mathematical model of brushed DC motor in order to verify the performance of the DC motor. In this paper, mathematical model of brushed DC motor will be derived from a brushed DC motor circuit that consist of two parts that are electrical and mechanical part. To validate the functionality of mathematical model, the performance of the brushed DC motor without any controller will be compared with the brushed DC motor with the presence of PI-PD controller that will be tuned by trial-and-error method. Performances of both brushed DC motor with and without controller will be compared in terms of transient response which are, rise time, Tr, settling time, Ts, steady state error, ess and lastly percentage overshoot. At the end of the study, the brushed DC motor with PI-PD controller show a better performance compared to the brushed DC motor without any controller.

The heat and mass transfer of a radiative Casson nanofluid with single-wall and multi-wall carbon nanotubes in a non-coaxial rotating frame is analyzed in this article. The effects of thermal radiation, magnetic field and porosity are considered. Casson human blood is used to suspend both types of carbon nanotubes. The governed dimensional momentum, energy and concentration equations associated with initial and moving boundary conditions are converted into dimensionless expression by applying appropriate dimensionless variables. The exact solutions are determined by solving the dimensionless governing partial differential equations using the Laplace transform method. The obtained solutions are verified by comparing the present results with the published results. The validity of the solutions is assured since a precise agreement between the results is accomplished. The variation of the skin friction, Nusselt number, and Sherwood number for various values of the embedded parameters are presented in tables. The impacts of embedded parameters on the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are illustrated in graphs. The distribution of the velocity and temperature is enhanced by the nanoparticles volume fraction but a reverse effect is observed for concentration profile. The radiation parameter has amplified the velocity and temperature of the Casson nanofluid. The emergence of porosity effect has aided to the smoothness of fluid flow but the presence of magnetic field reports the opposite effect on the velocity.

This research purpose is to investigate the exact solutions for unsteady free convection flow between oscillating parallel plates with mass diffusion and chemical reaction. The governing equations are modelled and reduced using non-dimensional variables. The method used is Laplace transform method. Solutions for velocity, temperature, and concentration fields as well as skin friction, Nusselt and Sherwood number are obtained. For physical understanding, analytical results for velocity, temperature and concentration profile are plotted graphically with respect to the Schmidt number, Prandtl number, oscillating parameter, Grashof number, mass Grashof number and chemical reaction parameter. Increasing Prandtl number and Schmidt number decreases the concentration, velocity, temperature, and skin friction but increases the Sherwood and Nusselt numbers.

With the advancement of nuclear energy as one of the top clean energy sources, studies on radiation effects are becoming more popular. Radiation absorption is an exothermic phenomenon where radiative energy is released to the surrounding environment. This occurrence can be seen widely in the field of manufacturing, biology, medicine and fluid mechanics. In this study, the impact of radiation absorption of fluid flow over a vertical plate that is exponentially accelerating will be investigated. Heat and mass transfer flowing vertically over the

The unsteady viscous nanofluid flow near a three-dimensional stagnation point was studied numerically under microgravity environment. g-Jitter is one of the effects occurs under microgravity environment that producing a fluctuating gravitational field. Three different types of nanoparticles were induced in the study that is copper (Cu), alumina (Al2O3), and titania (TiO2) which then produce a water-based typed of nanofluid. In addition, different shape of nanoparticle was applied on the study in analyzing the performance of each types of nanoparticle. The fluid system was then mathematically formulated into a system of partial differential equation based on physical law and principle such as conservation of mass, Newton’s second law and conservation of energy. The system of equation then undergoes semi-similar transformation technique in reducing the complexity of the problem into non dimensionless form. Keller box method was applied into the dimensionless system of equations in solving the problem numerically. The problem was analyzed in term of velocity and temperature profiles together with skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number. The results shown that temperature profile, skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number were increase while velocity profile decreased as nanoparticle volume fraction decreased. The results indicated that, the needle-shaped nanoparticles give the highest enhancement on the heat transfer of the nanofluid compared to sphere and disk-shaped nanoparticles with more than 14% significant different. In addition,  alumina hold the highest velocity profile while copper hold the lowest velocity profile.

Risk management and market losses prediction played a vital role in the financial sector. Value-at-Risk (VaR) is one of the effective measures for financial risk management. This research studies three mobile phone companies which are Apple Inc, Google Inc and Microsoft Corporation. The stocks of these companies are listed under the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations stock exchange (NASDAQ). The Value-at-Risk is evaluated by using two non-parametric methods and four parametric methods. Two non-parametric methods used are the basic historical method and age-weighted historical method, while the four parametric methods are normal distribution, student’s t-distribution, generalized extreme value distribution, and variance gamma distribution. Shapiro-Wilk normality test indicates that the return series of the selected companies are not normally distributed. This study found that, at 95% confidence level, the risks of the selected stocks are different for each method, and the stock of Microsoft Corporation is the least risky stock as it gives the lowest VaR. Through the conditional coverage test, this study founds that the age-weighted historical method overestimated the VaR. In addition, this study also concludes that the basic historical method, generalized extreme value distribution and variance gamma distribution are superior to other methods in the backtesting procedure.

Crimes are a social nuisance and has become major anxiousness to the society where it involves the safety of the people in a country. This paper provides crime index overview in Kelantan from 2017 to 2019 that consists of both violent crimes and property crimes. The violent crimes involve murder, rape, robbery and voluntarily injury cases. Meanwhile, property crimes include house break-in theft, vehicles theft and other theft (pickpocketing, snatch theft and etc.). The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between age, gender, ethnic and district with the crime index. In addition, the objective is to identify and get better understanding of the most common crime index and also to identify which area has the highest crime index in Kelantan. A total of 5,569 cases were reported within this three-year period and the data were collected from Kelantan Contingent Police Headquarters. The descriptive analysis, spearman’ rho correlation and multiple regression analysis were performed, and the findings were then illustrated via graphs and tables. The major results have shown that Kota Bharu has the highest crime index and age, gender and district has significant relationship with crime index.

Modelling the overnight Islamic interbank rate (IIR) is imperative to define the IIR performance as it would help the Islamic banks to adjust its costs of funding effectively and facilitate the policy makers to regulate a comprehensive monetary policy in Malaysia. The IIR framework which has been regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia under dual banking and financial system has always been overlooked in most previous studies in modelling the financial instruments rates. Therefore, it is vital to select the appropriate model as it resembles with the features of the IIR. The study assesses the forecasting performance of overnight IIR using the Box-Jenkins model. The suggested Box-Jenkins model has been applied to the Malaysian overnight IIR (in percentage) from 02/01/2001 to 31/12/2020. The empirical results determine that ARIMA (0,1,1) is the most appropriate model in forecasting overnight IIR as the model provides the smallest Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). In multistep ahead forecasting, it can be summarised that ARIMA (0,1,1) model is able to trail the actual data trend of daily Malaysian overnight IIR up to 5-day ahead within 95% prediction intervals.

Seeking the better performance nanofluid but with low cost of production, presence challenged. Metal nanomaterial is good in both thermal and electric conductivity but expensive while oxide nanomaterial does oppositely. The present study solved numerically the laminar boundary layer flow over a permeable flat surface in a blended metal-oxide hybrid nanofluid plate with viscous dissipation effects. The similarity equations in the form of the set of ordinary differential equations are reduced from the non-linear partial differential equations before being solved numerically using the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg method in MAPLE. The numerical solution is obtained for the reduced skin friction coefficient and reduced Nusselt number as well as the temperature and velocity profiles. The flow features and the heat transfer characteristic for the Eckert number, permeability parameter and nanoparticle volume fraction are analyzed and discussed. The Ag-Al2O3 water-based hybrid nanofluid tested in this study shows competitive results with the Ag water-based nanofluid in certain cases.
