The purpose of this research paper was to carry out a bibliographical revision on the academic training of the psychologistfor the caregiving of elders, in Venezuela. Its relevance relays on providing innovating information in the area, for this subject has been little explored in this country. Therefore, it is important to consider all knowledge and experiences held by the professional psychologist on this stage of human development, from an academic perspective. The access to new knowledge will allow generating programs for appropriate psychological intervention directed to elders, whether these be institutionalized or non-institutionalized; aiming, not only to improve life quality of an old person, but also to address to it from the different areas of its overall functioning. To conclude, we can highlight that it actually exist the imperious need to train academically Venezuelan psychologist, as one of those professionals sufficiently competent with scientific knowledge to provide proper attention to this population.

This research aims to determine the factors associated with procrastination on a sample of 210 students of basic and baccalaureate education in Salcedo (Ecuador) with a mean of 13.81 of age and a standard deviation of 1.81 of age. The Academic Procrastination Scale (APS) was conducted based on gender, background (urban/ rural), academic year, economic status, after school activities (such as studying and supporting family businesses or simply studying). The findings show that economic status and day-to-day activities are significantly associated (p< .05) with academic procrastination. Hence, those who procrastinate less are better off financially or support their family business. On the other hand, it was found that procrastination vary by school year. Results indicate that Academic Procrastination (AP) is particularly sensitive to socioeconomic, academic and family factors.

The purpose of this research was to identify the advantages of technical assistance in continuous training processes and its effects on the performance of health professionals who care for children under 3 years of age in the Growth and Development Control (CRED). The research showed that by incorporating the Technical Assistance (TA) variable, continuous training programs are more efficient, that is, when capacities are strengthened in the field of professional action. The study design was quantitative, according to its depth it is explanatory of a quasi-experimental type, aimed at identifying the causal relationship or effect of technical assistance on professional performance, comparing an experimental group and a control group. The general results show significant differences, the experimental group, reaching an average of 51.67, while the control group only reached 26.53, applying the non-parametric Mann Whitney U test: p≤.01. Although continuous training generates progress in both groups, when incorporating the AT variable, a significant jump is evidenced compared to the control group, concluding that technical assistance improves the performance of the health personnel who attend to the CRED Control, strengthening and increasing their capabilities.

Natural disasters, apart from economic losses, can also affect family functioning and life satisfaction due to the adverse events that are experienced. Therefore, the main purpose of the research was to know the relation between the family functionality and satisfaction with life in the community of San Antonio del Pedregal - Sector 1 in Lurigancho-Chosica, Peru; one of the geographical areas most affected by the presence of huaicos (frequent large floods in the Andean highlands) since the 1980s and that has recently experienced the adverse effects of the El Niño phenomenon of 2017. The research was correlational and transversal; furthermore, the study sample consisted of 180 local people. The results indicate that, despite the events experienced, people show moderate family functioning and are satisfied with their life. Women had a higher score in both variables compared to men, those over 60 years of age reported greater family functionality, and those under 30 years of age showed better results in life satisfaction.

This research tries to describe the group dynamic that unravels between members of the hip hop artistic collective “Colectribu”, consisting of young people in social risk, exposed to phenomena such as violence, gangs and substance abuse, they attend the “Resistencia Juvenil” program dependent from the La Paz Foundation. It describes a space of artistic development allowing growth of artistic abilities by means of lyricism workshops, musical production and others types of workshops. At the same time the concept of gang reformulates, leaving behind the violent intent to redirect the work from “Colectribu” to creation, social contribution and personal growth. “[Colectribu] is a union of youth who come from different places of La Paz who get together joined by hip hop, it’s a way of expressing to people a new message, that is conscious and reflexive”. Access to information and digital knowledge is an advantage for human development, however, it is also an opportunity for its inappropriate and excessive use. The objective of the study is to describe the roles of participation of school violence, based on their participation in episodes of cyber aggression: Flamming, Denigration, Impersonation, Outing and Trickery, Happy Slapping, Grooming, Exclusion, Cyberstalking, and Harrassment.The research was quantitative with descriptive study and cross-sectional design. 411 high school students from the State of Mexico participated. Two instruments were used, one to measure school violence (α=.95) and the second to measure nine types of cyber aggression (α=.97). A multivariate clustering o conglomerate analysis (k-means) was done to describe groups of students based on school violence, identifying three groups: victims, doble role (victim-bully) and not involved in school violence, from the classification a contrast of means (one-way ANOVA) was made to describe the different types of cyber-aggressive behaviors exhibited by the identified groups. The first conclusion refers that when you are the victim of school violence (face to face), it will also be victims of school violence in virtual environments: flamming, denigration, impersonation, outing and trickery, happy slapping, grooming, exclusion and harassment. It is also concluded that those who participate with a doble role in school violence participate as victims and bully, reproducing violence in virtual environments, which should be taken into account for prevention and intervention program.

The analysis of the psychological aspects of different sports is relevant for the development of interventions aimed at reaching the maximum potential of athletes. The aim of this study was to analyze the personality traits of senior judokas according to (a) sex, (b) age, (c) graduation, (d) competition level attained, (e) years of experience, (f) weight category, and (g) to explore the differences with the personality traits of the general population. A total of 116 Argentinean judokas (86 men and 30 women) participated in the study. Personality traits were assessed through the Adjectives Check List. The results show small to moderate differences between the judokas according to sex, age, graduation, competition level, and years of sport experience. No differences were found according to weight category. Differences in personality were also detected between the judokas and the general population: female judokas reported higher levels of Openness to experience, and male judokas reported higher levels of Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Emotional stability. The results represent a contribution about the psychological profile of judokas and the personality traits of high competition athletes.

Work stress is related to the perception of parental skills in working parents, it is a cross-sectional, associative study with correlational predictive design (Ato, López & Benavente, 2013), 177 parents participated (55.7% women), who worked at least 30 hours per week and who have children between 3 and 12 years old. The instruments used were the Inventory of the demands-control-support model (Rosario-Hernández & Rovira, 2016) and the Perceived Parental Competence Scale (Vera-Vásquez, Zaragoza-Tafur & Musayón-Oblitas, 2014). The results found show significant and positive correlations between the dimension of support with assumption of the role and shared leisure (.27). In the same way, the support dimension is positively related to school involvement (.28); as well as the dimension of control with assumption of the role and shared leisure (.22). A positive and moderate correlation was also found between work demands and hours worked (.34). It has been possible to compare the results with previous studies that reaffirm the idea that due to the amount of work commitments, the parents' stay at home is more difficult. In conclusion, people who perceive stress in their work will have a lower perception of parental competences, since they do not find a balance between the functions of both roles.

Emotional intelligence is the set of capacities that allow a student to properly manage their emotions and interpersonal relationships, when subjected to stressful situations, such as the educational environment; in which they have to deal with internal and external conflicts for good academic performance. The research aimed to relate emotional intelligence and academic performance in students of the National Autonomous University of Chota, Peru. The study was descriptive correlational, not cross-sectional experimental, and it worked with 325 university students who signed the informed consent, after knowing the purpose of the research; emotional intelligence was determined with the BarOn ICE Emotional Intelligence Test and academic performance with a data collection sheet. The results show a higher proportion of university students with high emotional intelligence (51.1%) and average academic performance of 12.59 ± 1.17 weighted score, results similar to those reported by various national and international studies. It is concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between emotional intelligence, the adaptability dimension and the academic performance of university students (p = 0.043 and p = 0.021).
