Leadership performance by village leaders is essential to promote sustainable life among rural communities, especially fisheries community who living along coastal villages. Otherwise, previous studies found that performance issues among village’s leaders remain as serious problems, and need to find the best solution. This study was conducted to profile the job performance among village leaders based on demographic factors such as educational level, age and experiences as village leader. The data of this cross-sectional survey were collected by questionnaires on 300 respondents consist of members of village organization through stratified sampling’s technique, while the data was analysed by SPSS using items of mean, standard deviation, independent-sample t-test and anova. The finding shown that there were differences in job performance among village leaders on educational level, age and experiences. Interestingly, the finding told the best on job performance among village leaders are (i) the age between 41 to 50 years old; (iii) the experience between 11 to 20 years; and (iii) the higher educational level the higher job performance among them.  This result can be using by government or any responsible parties to improve job performance among village leaders, especially for recruitment selection and for in-service training.

In posterior spinal fusion (PSF), the vertebral artery is most vulnerable to injury at C1-2. C2 pedicle screws are often placed into the dorsomedial isthmus of C2. Alternative techniques include C2 laminar screws and wiring techniques. A 67-year-old male underwent PSF for persistent severe intractable neck pain and degeneration at C1-2. The patient had an enlarged left vertebral artery with midline migration into the C2 body. This pattern was within one standard deviation of normal; however, it rendered typical placement of a C2 pedicle screw unsafe. As a salvage, a C2 laminar screw was placed on the left to avoid risk of vertebral artery injury. The operation and recovery were without complication. C2 laminar screws can be viable alternatives to C2 pedicle screws in cases of midline vertebral artery migration or other vascular anomalies preventing normal safe placement of C2 pedicle screws.

Twenty air-dried or fresh-frozen herbages were fed to sheep in digestibility trials. Chemical fractions of the herbage and faeces, as well as in vitro estimates of herbage digestibility, were related to the digestible energy (DE) and digestible organic matter (DOM) ratios. The lignin ratio between faeces and herbage was more closely related to the DE and DOM ratios than other indices examined. Lignin recovery was 98.3 1.2 per cent. Residual standard deviation in relating actual to estimated DE intake was 9.6 per cent, when the DOM ratio was estimated from the lignin ratio and DE intake, calculated by using the observed mean energy value of 4.59 kcal/gm for DOM. The results indicate the lignin ratio technique, as applied, will give a considerably more accurate estimate of herbage digestibility than the alternative techniques examined

Introduction: Considering the importance of maintaining the energy and health of the staff and faculty members as human beings, organizational conflict can have a significant impact on public health, performance, and the rate of depression in these individuals. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between job performance and depression with organizational conflicts in professors and staff of Larestan University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study was conducted in 2016 on 82 professors and staff of Larestan University of Medical Sciences selected by census sampling method. In order to collect information in the present study, three questionnaires (organizational conflict, job performance, and Goldberg depression) were used. Results: The mean of depression was 58.20 with a standard deviation of 17.16, the mean of job performance was 30.55 with a standard deviation of 27.5, and the mean of organizational conflict was 93.20 with a standard deviation of 42.5. Conflict with subordinate had a higher mean score and conflict with peers had a lower mean score. The frequency distribution of depression among the participants showed that healthy individuals had the highest frequency (27.7%) and individuals with severe depression had the lowest frequency (4.8%). Conclusion: The findings showed an inverse relationship between depression and job performance, but a direct relationship was observed between depression and organizational conflict. By identifying and modifying the causes of stress in the workplace, we can see the improvement of performance and the creation of desirable and efficient feelings in medical personnel

The study aimed to identify the effect of time management on job performance in Al-Shuqaiq Water and Electricity Company, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive approach, and the study sample consisted of (82) employees, and the questionnaire was designed as a tool for the study to obtain data. A set of results, the most prominent of which were: the existence of an effect of time management on the performance of the employees of the Shuqaiq Water and Electricity Company, where the arithmetic average was (3.72) and the standard deviation (0.60), and the presence of a positive effect of time utilization among the employees of the Shuqaiq Water and Electricity Company, where the arithmetic average was (4.08). And the standard deviation (0.66), and the presence of a statistically significant effect at a level less than 0.05 between time management and job performance in the brother water and electricity company, and it also showed that the employees of the company realize the importance of completing work on time, and the presence of a statistically significant effect at a level less than 0.05 Between the effect of time use and job performance, the results showed that there are statistically significant differences about the effect of time management on job performance due to the age variable, and there are no statistically significant differences about the effect of time management on The job performance refers to the two variables, academic qualification and years of experience. The study recommended a number of recommendations, the most prominent of which are: the need for the volume of work to be commensurate with the official working hours, as well as the necessity of providing the means and techniques that help workers accomplish the tasks assigned to them efficiently, and the need to educate workers and urge them to set up prior plans for the work that they will undertake.

The study explores the job performance of resident doctors ingovernment teaching hospitals in SouthwesternNigeria. Job performanceservesas a gauge to measure the health of organizations. The studyadopted the descriptive research designto investigatesix out of the seven government teaching hospitals in SouthwesternNigeria. Total enumeration was used to administer 792copies ofquestionnaire to the resident doctors but 636 were returned for data analysis, making the response rate to be 80.3%.Data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency counts, percentage, mean and standard deviation). Findings revealed that the job performance of resident doctors inthegovernment teaching hospitals in was remarkably high. There were, however, staff shortages which invariably led to heavy workloads and stressamong the resident doctors. The opportunities for advancement were also limited. It was, therefore, recommended that the management of the teaching hospitals should increase the staff strength of the resident doctors to avoid stress and burnouts. The workplace environment should be improved by providing opportunities for the doctorsto advance their careers.

The success of the protein monolayer technique for electron microscopy of individual DNA molecules is based on the prevention of aggregation and orientation of the molecules during drying on specimen grids. DNA adsorbs first to a surface-denatured, insoluble cytochrome c monolayer which is then transferred to grids, without major distortion, by touching. Fig. 1 shows three basic procedures which, modified or not, permit the study of various important properties of nucleic acids, either in concert with other methods or exclusively:1) Molecular weights relative to DNA standards as well as number distributions of molecular weights can be obtained from contour length measurements with a sample standard deviation between 1 and 4%.

Purpose The minimum masking level (MML) is the minimum intensity of a stimulus required to just totally mask the tinnitus. Treatments aimed at reducing the tinnitus itself should attempt to measure the magnitude of the tinnitus. The objective of this study was to evaluate the reliability of the MML. Method Sample consisted of 59 tinnitus patients who reported stable tinnitus. We obtained MML measures on two visits, separated by about 2–3 weeks. We used two noise types: speech-shaped noise and high-frequency emphasis noise. We also investigated the relationship between the MML and tinnitus loudness estimates and the Tinnitus Handicap Questionnaire (THQ). Results There were differences across the different noise types. The within-session standard deviation averaged across subjects varied between 1.3 and 1.8 dB. Across the two sessions, the Pearson correlation coefficients, range was r = .84. There was a weak relationship between the dB SL MML and loudness, and between the MML and the THQ. A moderate correlation ( r = .44) was found between the THQ and loudness estimates. Conclusions We conclude that the dB SL MML can be a reliable estimate of tinnitus magnitude, with expected standard deviations in trained subjects of about 1.5 dB. It appears that the dB SL MML and loudness estimates are not closely related.

Abstract Functional capacity evaluations (FCEs) have become an important component of disability evaluation during the past 10 years to assess an individual's ability to perform the essential or specific functions of a job, both preplacement and during rehabilitation. Evaluating both job performance and physical ability is a complex assessment, and some practitioners are not yet certain that an FCE can achieve these goals. An FCE is useful only if it predicts job performance, and factors that should be assessed include overall performance; consistency of performance across similar areas of the FCE; consistency between observed behaviors during the FCE and limitations or abilities reported by the worker; objective changes (eg, blood pressure and pulse) that are appropriate relative to performance; external factors (illness, lack of sleep, or medication); and a coefficient of variation that can be measured and assessed. FCEs can identify specific movement patterns or weaknesses; measure improvement during rehabilitation; identify a specific limitation that is amenable to accommodation; and identify a worker who appears to be providing a submaximal effort. FCEs are less reliable at predicting injury risk; they cannot tell us much about endurance over a time period longer than the time required for the FCE; and the FCE may measure simple muscular functions when the job requires more complex ones.
