The questionnaire included 8 questions to evaluate the presence of risk factors among TNMU foreign students and identify the percentage of students who were already exposed to COVID-19. Results. The amount of students that proved PCR-confirmed COVID-19 infection since the start of the pandemic equaled 7.17% (n=46). An evident contact with COVID-19 case prior to the personal disease appearance was proved by only 11.85 % of students (n=76). The article describes the difficulties of transition to distance learning (DL) at a medical university when students pass clinical disciplines, using the example of the subject of "psychiatry". The negative impact of the pandemic on international cooperation in the field of education and science was also noted, in particular, attracting foreign students to further education. Based on the above, the following tasks were set: to study the features of the transition to distance learning the subject of "psychiatry" at the Odessa National Medical University, to identify the features of distance work with English-speaking foreign students during their learning of this discipline and to present proposals for optimizing this process. During the transition to DL, a significant decrease in the quality of education was noticed during the absence of an existing learning management system, since this transition was a certain stress for all participants in the educational process, both students and teachers. Significant problems have arisen in the DL of clinical disciplines for English-speaking students. The greatest difficulty is the teaching of psychiatry, since it is difficult to explain to students in English not only the description of psychopathological symptoms and syndromes, but also the mental characteristics of people with other nationalities. It is proposed to use movies, with the main heroes suffering from mental disorders, as a thematic guide for mastering practical skills. Although some of the positive aspects of DL have been noted by medical students, they agree to DL only as a forced short-term measure.

Formation of orthodontics as a modern branch in dentistry began in the middle of the twentieth century, to which the scientists mentioned in this article joined. From that time until today, the departments of dentistry at the Danylo Halytsky National Medical University provide training for students, and at the present level scientific work is being conducted which creates an opportunity to improve this specialty.

A cross-sectional study explored the moral judgement competence and moral attitudes of 310 Czech and Slovak and 70 foreign national students at the Medical Faculty of Charles University in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. Lind's Moral Judgement Test was used to evaluate moral judgement competence and moral attitudes depending on factors such as age, number of semesters of study, sex, nationality and religion. Moral judgement competence decreased significantly in the Czech and Slovak medical students as they grew older; in medical students from other countries it did not significantly increase. The influence of other factors (sex, nationality and religion) on moral judgement competence was not proven in either the Czech and Slovak or the foreign national medical students. Moral attitudes do not change; the Czech and Slovak as well as the foreign students preferred the post-conventional levels of moral judgement (Kohlberg's 5th and 6th stages). The fact that the Czech and Slovak students' moral judgement competence decreased with age and number of semesters of study completed is not an optimistic sign: medical students who had undergone a lower number of semesters of study were morally more competent.

The article deals with an urgent issue of a systematic research of foreign students studying in Ukraine. Successful learning and social adaptation of young people greatly depend on learning the Ukrainian language. In addition to the obvious advantages, it is advisable to pay particular attention to the system of theoretical and methodological support of the educational process, starting from the author’s textbooks and finishing with modern information technologies. Forming the communicative competence of a medical professional is impossible without taking into account the value-motivational side of this process. In this regard, the communicative training of the healthcare worker is viewed within an axiological approach. As a consequence, professional values are the central category. Peculiarities of future doctors’ professional values formation as a component of communicative competence are considered. The study, aimed at analysing the development of professional qualities of foreign medical students, was conducted at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University in the 2018-2019 academic year. The study was carried out under the guidance of professors A.Vykhrushch and N. The article highlights the level of interest and motives of students of Donetsk National Medical University in physical education and sports. A wide range of factors that hinder exercise and a healthy lifestyle have been identified. Students' health was analyzed. The obtained results prove the importance of increasing students' motivation to take physical education classes. The problem of the functioning of physical education in higher education is an integral part of the formation of the general and professional culture of the personality of the modern specialist, the system of humanistic education of students. The modern problem of building the process of physical education at the university is the formation of students' interest in the subject of "Physical Education". In physical education, the problem of motivation for exercise is still insufficiently studied, in practice there are no specific recommendations and developments. The applied (ie practical) importance of physical training of student youth for successful study and work is an integral component and essential property of physical education of each individual as a pedagogical process. The main goal of reforming the system of physical education should be to improve human health, taking into account its needs, motives, interests. Therefore, in order to implement state measures, it is necessary to find out the factors that will help increase the motivation of students to exercise and play sports. The study of students' motivation determines their attitude to the formation of their personal health in medical universities, which is largely associated with self-improvement of the individual and his recovery by increasing the level of physical activity by means of physical culture. Due to the low motivation of physical education among modern students there is a need to find ways to increase this motivation and highlight the experience of its implementation in the educational process of the medical university, which determines the relevance of our study. Based on the above, we conducted a pedagogical study. With the help of pedagogical methods of questioning and testing, the positive motivation of students to exercise was traced. The purpose of the questionnaire was to explain students' views on personal health, attitudes towards the subject of "Physical Education" and interest in innovative forms and content of physical education classes. The questionnaire also asked questions to identify students' motivations for physical education, their impact on maintaining and promoting personal health. The questionnaire contained semi-closed questions, which allowed respondents to choose from the presented answers and express their own point of view on a particular question. Based on a survey of medical students in the search phase (formative) experiment, we found that the level of positive motivation of first and second year students of medical and dental faculties of Donetsk National Medical University by means of improving personal health by means of physical education averaged 10, 11% . Yes, 60% of respondents have a high level; 36.2% - average and 3.8% of respondents have a low level of positive motivation of students to strengthen personal health by means of physical culture after the introduction of game and competitive teaching methods. The index of student satisfaction with our proposed method is 95%. Such significant changes testify to the cognitive motivation of students in medical institutions, interest in the educational process, the desire to attend academic classes and stable adaptation to the university. Thus, the formation of positive motivation in student youth to actively support personal health throughout life, through physical culture and sports is one of the ways that can to some extent ensure their healthy lifestyle.

In the article an attempt is made to characterize some peculiarities of distant learning in the context of Covid pandemic. The definition of distant learning and its forms is given. The author tries to compare the efficiency of distant learning as it is and its efficiency as the only form of learning in the context of extreme conditions. Based on the experience of a rapid transition to distant learning of the students of Donetsk National Medical University the author descirbes and analyzes the main challenges the students and teachers faced during that period. Among them are the uncertainty about its length, special difficulties for foreign students , lack of technological devices and the necessary skills to work with them that some students experienced, the necessity to define the appropriate balance between online and offline forms of distant learning in mastering University courses, the absence of video courses in some subjects - Ukrainian as a foreign language in particular. The revealed merits and drawbacks of online learning are considered. The positive factors are the following: due to distant learning the process of studying at all educational institutions was not discontinued, students could save their time not getting to the University, working with offline tasks in their individual tempo, internet resources suggested new opportunities for teachers to be used in the period of distant learning and after it. The negative aspects are complete dependence of teaching and studying on technological devices which are not always reliable, difficulties for teachers to control if a student was really independent doing written and oral tests or examination answering, lack of the necessary emotional and visual communication between a student and a teacher, The author mentions that one of the lessons drawn from the experience of distant learning in pandemic period is the fact that the role of a teacher is in no way diminished. It remains the key factor both in classical and distant forms of studying. A mixed form of learning which combines both above mentioned ones is regarded to be widely practiced in future.
